And at least two of them were part Mexican.

Foul on the principal's part, if you ask me.

(And I'm jealous they had ethnic dancers, my high school never did crap for any holiday)

Well I suppose it could have been seen as insulting a day supposed to be for celebrating Hispanic culture but I dunno. As long as they weren't trying to insult them it's okay.

It's times like this that I'm glad that schools in scotland have uniforms. We don't need to deal with this sort of crap.

Because although we have so many songs and praises for our country, when it comes to other countries, you better not be proud of ours.

Wow, this is ridiculous, they were just trying to have a little fun.

What is it with people and flags? Why do people get so wound up over strips of cloth that supposedly represent all the great things about ones country? If I wear a shirt with the Union Jack on it, I'm not "making a statement about my own patriotic inclinations", I'm wearing a freaking shirt. Unless there's an emblem on my shirt saying something outright racist/offensive or saying "Hey, Stan McNormalguy, shove a melon up your arse", then what the hell are these people being offended by? People this day and age need to lighten the **** up.

    This is REALLY ****ing stupid.

I have seen Mexican flags being put up and stuff like that on Independence Day/4th of July/whatever you want to call it. I might roll my eyes at it, but I don't get butthurt and go "WAAHHHH THATS DISRESPECTFUL"

I'm glad these kids stood up for their rights and refused to reverse the shirts.
If they want to wear American flag shirts on Cinco de Mayo, they have the right to. This is as stupid as the No Cussing Club making an anti-cussing law in South Pasadena.

Next year, I feel like wearing an Irish or German flag shirt on Cinco de Mayo. I dare my school to start a shitstorm over it.

And from what I read, some hispanic kids had a goddamn RALLY in response. WTF?

The kids' families should sue the school for trying to strip the students of their legal rights given to them as citizens.

I ask this: If there was school on July 4th, and some kids wore Mexican flag shirts to school, would anyone get butthurt and start drama?

Anyone claiming the kids were racist is a moron for many reasons, one of being that Mexican is not a race.
