As a late Christmas present, I am getting a 3DS, the special edition Zelda one to be exact, and I plan on getting one or two more games along with it, making a total of three. Since Zelda is already there, don't put that down. I was thinking about Super Mario 3D Land and Super Street Fighter IV 3D, but I want some recommendations from others to see what games you guys are playing and enjoying.

If your into Pokemon then get Pokemon Rumble Blast. Its fun beating up other Pokemon. You can make the strongest Pokemon look like sh*t when you beat it with a Pidggy. xD

i would definitely recommend Mario 3D Land as well as Mario Kart 7. i would also recommend downloading the 3D Classics version of Kirby. the price range is a little steep though for $7 but it's still a good game nevertheless. if you want something amusing, download Photo Dojo from the store for a price of $2 (notice i said amusing, not good XD)

Mario Kart 7, Pokemon Rumble Blast, Star Fox 64 3D. Oh and don't forget that The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition is downloadable from the Nintendo eShop for the stunning price of $0.00

Depending on where you live, Tales of the Abyss 3D is an option (UK and Europe only for just now I'm afraid.)
Also, Mario Kart 7 and Mario 3D Land should be fairly obvious, Super Pokemon Rumble/Rumble Blast is a pretty decent game, extremely cute, just keep in mind that it can get a bit repetitive.

Oh yea. A super cool and awesome game that will release next year called KINGDOM HEARTS DREAM DROP DISTANCE it's a great option. Mario Kart 7, Pokemons and Tales of Abyss are my highly recommendations.

That's for the PSP, he's requesting 3DS recommendations.
Adding to what SUPERSMASHDRAKE said, Wi-fi games with a big community are always good. I highly recommend Mario Kart 7.
And Four swords is free until February.

I would recommend Mario Kart and Star Fox 64 3D for sure. As for other games, it really depends on your own personal tastes. If you want to get Super Mario 3D Land, then by all means, go for it. I can't think of any other games worth getting at the moment.

Wow, looks like Mario Kart 7 and 3D land are pretty popular choices. I'll probably get MK7 (mainly so I can race with the wonderful peoples of KH-Vids!) and Mario 3D Land.

@Feenie: I live in the US, unfortunately. When/If Tales of the Abyss 3D comes over here I'll definitely check it out.

If you haven't already, i'd recommend Starfox 64 3D and Sonic Generations.

Cave Story 3D, which is a graphical remake of the greatest indie game of all time.

I loved the original Cave Story so I imagine 3D is great as well. I would highly recommend Super Mario 3D Land. The main game is very very very easy but the special worlds are quite difficult.
