Birth by Sleep 3 New Kingdom Hearts Games in Development, Including KH3

STORY: "Tetsuya Nomura, Director of the Kingdom Hearts franchise of games has confirmed that 3 new Kingdom Hearts games are planned, after Birth by Sleep releases.

In the "Birth by Sleep Ultimania" that contains an interview with Nomura, he had the following to say -

“About the next title, Kingdom Hearts 3 depends on Final Fantasy XIII Versus, but development of the next title is already underway. There are two titles other than Kingdom Hearts 3 in conception, and I think I’ll release one within this year.â€

“As from next year, I want to put out a title with multiple main characters.â€

“The series won’t end in Kingdom Hearts 3, more like the conclusion of the Xehanort saga.â€

“It’s not the case that when Sora’s story is over another hero’s story will begin; Sora will be the hero until the end.â€

And on the Western version of KH: BBS -

“We added the Critical degree of difficulty, more cutscenes, more songs to the Rhythmic Ice Cream mini game, more Keyblades, more types of enemies and altered battle balance. I still can’t say we’ll release a Final Mix, but we can’t give it the generous treatment like with Re: Chain of Memories.â€

Oh wow.. 3 more KH games already being made? No wonder he wants to release one per year..

Also it seems we shall only get KH3 after Final Fantasy XIII Versus comes out. So we should expect quite a long wait for that game...

About damn time.

I wonder if KH3 will possibly be on the PS2. Considering that KH1, KH2, and KH Re: CoM was on the PS2. Why break the chain? ...Even though Days and BBS did. Also, I'm pretty sure there was rumors about one more game. But a second one? What is it going to be about? Kairi? /hope

Agreed, but I kinda doubt it'll come for the PS2.. The Wii maybe, but I don't think SE has even made a PS2 game in a long time ( as far as I know).

Also, yeah it's great to know Sora will be there until the end!

 

The Wii? Interesting possibility. It could happen if Nomura decides that Kingdom Hearts Fans want to move more with it. And barely anyone has made a PS2 game. They're all going to the PSP.

I hate New Generations, so to me, that's wonderful.

 

Hmm.. I guess they could make it a multiplatform title ( PS3/Xbox 360 or Wii/ PSP or PS3/PSP) the only problem is that they seem to make each title exclusive for one platform.

But what I'm really not liking is that we might not even see KH3 by the end of 2011. By that time our current gen will most likely the "old gen" or nearing the end of it's cycle :unsure:

 

Bloody Shoopufs! Did he just implied that there might be a BBS final mix? God, NO! I'm tired of all those games being released only in Japan and in the case of RE: Chain of memories in USA, ignoring Europe.

And three more Kingdom Hearts? What the..? I don't know about you but i'm not made of money. And a game with multiple main characters? Again?!

 

I don't know about this. I'm kind of worried that they might milk Kingdom Hearts so much it starts to become boring and this isn't like Final Fantasy where the games are not intertwined.

 

Critical mode? In the US version?

Nomura confirmed that the KH2: Final Mix was the last PS2 game for the series, so that's a no-no on that console being a possibilty.

ANd like i've said in previous posts, the Square team have now had expereience on all game platforms, whilst the KH team haven't worked on the current gen machines apart from the handhled consoles.
This may put them back on how fast they make one, (I mean look out how long it took for FF 13) but hopefully it shouldn't, so you can guess whatever machine you like.

 

This is awesome. I just hope they don't ruin the story. I don't want it to come out on PS3 because I don't have one :p lol, but it would be good, the graphics would be amazing.

I think the last official PS2 game came out in like November of last year. :/
I'm interested to see how the series will move over to the PS3. Kingdom Hearts kind of has a unique graphics-style to it, and I'm not sure how well that will fit into a post-Final Fantasy XIII world.

 

*w* I think it'll be awesome. Imagine a more final fantasy KH?! *drools*

 

Oh don't get me wrong, it'd be awesome if everything looked like the openings/endings, but I might miss the style of KH&KH2. Kind of like how yeah, new Pokemon games are cool and all, but there's something really magical about the way they used to look.

 

it's good that KH3 is finally in the works. it'd be cool if it featured Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII as well. i just hope that they use DIFFERENT worlds than the ones they've been using all along. because in Days, it was like the 4th time seeing some of those worlds and it's getting kinda old seeing Aladdin yet again.

 

True. I'm sure KH-v's worlds are gonna be majorly different. :/ Ehh... I guess it depends on the story, doesn't it.

 

I agree, I'd like some new worlds, but there are only so many Disney movies that could be effectively worked in. I'd definitely like an Atlantis world, though. :B
And I would not object at all to dropping Aladdin, I've always hated it.
