2 people stuck in an elevator

What could have caused them to stay there?
Need ideas please.

 

One of them is the devil!

 

It broke on the way up to their stops.
One of them lost their wallet/purse
They were enjoying each others company a bit too much
They were engaged in an awesome conversation
They fell asleep
They died from a teletubby invasion that came into the elevator
The doors wouldn't open
It was inception and it was a dream
They were making out
They like elevators
They were listening to their ipod and missed their stop

 

They're "playing Monopoly" as my English teacher says.

 

And then she collected 200 dollars after he passed Go.

 

Indeed. Meanwhile, in another elevator, there's a lonely man playing Solitaire.

 

The answer's obvious, isn't it?

Those two? Oh don't mind them, they use that elevator a lot for various reasons... I can hear them all the way across the building...
