I think this is frigging adorable, and I tip my hat to the kid on figuring out what to do and not panicking. It reminds me of a four year old once who called 911 because her mother had a deadly seizure and was so calm, the operator didn't believe it was happening, but sent a dispatch just in case and saved the mom's life.

Kid deserves a medal and several gaming systems. Smart thinking, kid.

Wow that was pretty adorable. Glad video games are getting more stories that are good than ones that are bad. It's not much, but someday people will see video games in a good light instead of the bad one we're so used to seeing them in nowadays.

This is one in a million, but it's pretty uplifting. Kudos to the kid for quick thinking in such a situation, and kudos to his parents for getting him Mario Kart and not CoD or Battlefield.

I guess if there is one thing you should retain from playing Mario Kart is that when you go off the track onto dirt it will slow you down. Most kids wouldn't stay calm in that situation, much less think about Mario Kart and how to save himself and his family. It is something that most people wouldn't think to do. That was a cool story

I'm not glorifying games or anything but ... wow! I'd like to send this article to a few of my teachers who always bagged on video games. This is definitely something. Hope the grandmother is alright, sorry if it was in the article I skimmed. I'm definitely going to make my children, if/when I have any, play mario kart.
