Jesus man look at it logically. The video game market is in turmoil, the Wii U is already out, PlayStation and Xbox sales are abysmal and Sony's PSVita is the worst selling PlayStation console of all time so far by quite a margin. It is almost unanimously agreed by critics and analysts that the new Xbox and PlayStation will be revealed at the next E3 and that early Dev Kits of rough specs have already been sent out. It is also widely speculated that the Cell processor will be dropped in the next PlayStation in favour of the-easier to develop for-ordinary architecture AMD CPUs. Also, Kingdom Hearts 3 is by no means in development. **** it, we don't even have a release date for Versus XIII (which the main KH team has been working on) and that's been in development for 7 years! Ideas may be staring up but we have at least 5 years if we look at the minimal amount of time left for Versus and the standard time the average console KH game has been developed at in the past. The PS3 will have long dropped support by any major publishers by then and making KH3 on it at that time would be suicide. Also the PS4 will almost certainly not have backwards compatibility as sticking in the Cell for hardware emulation would be monstrously expensive but that means more dough for $quare €nix selling the crappy remixes on the PSNis Network. It will definitely be on the next gen PlayStation, again as long as Sony doesn't **** up, and we will have to wait a very long time so wind and grind for the long road ahead.

Haha, okay some intersting points. I do believe I recall some quote from one of the reports that darkness is in everyone's hearts, except the princess', one would presume which is kind of a flaw in the whole concept of the light vs dark thing. Although, after closer examination of some more KH3D, are the seven meant to be warriors of light? In that case it wouldn't particularly matter if they have darkness in their hearts as long as they wield keyblades and fight for the light. If this is the case then I still stand by what I think would be an interesting situation, you've still got Mickey, Riku, Lea, Aqua, Terra, Ventus and Kairi but the fact that you can now allow a little bit of darkness means the Terra and Riku problem is kind of solved. Now I accept that leaving Sora out of this battle would seem a bit uncool but that speech Ansem did (again) at around 7:07 he says Sora needs to be himself. And being himself would be letting him loose, fixing some other plot device that may be introduced with D and G (because let's be honeset, they're coming back and I will welcome them as well) abd generally having a good ol' time while they get annoyed about how underpowered and outnumbered they are. I support you're argument that Sora is the main character and that's why I think it's essential he does stuff on his own with Donald and Goofy, it's his adventure. My thinking would be that we'd see cutscenes of the battle between the others but they'll lose and eventually it'll just be Sora, D and G against the lot of them (and this wouldn't be a bad time to introduce a power up that's hugely overpowered like Final Form in KH2 to deal with such situations). The epic battle would be taking them all on himself with D and G because, let's be honest, the others aren't exactly up to scratch. And when Sora has been without Donald and Goofy he has been fundamentally vulnerable in his head, as KH3D proved substantially, remember the Furious XIII were messing with him about Roxas so D and G supported him and basically got him to tell them to **** off. But now we've established the lights aren't actually lights at all but warriors of the said 'light'; this is good.
I also accept you're character preferance even if I don't understand it, Roxas is literally a nobody with an annoying, whiny personality and wants to be whole himself even though that's impossible but will probably be made possible thanks to the amount of fanboys such as yourself and Nomura's idea to actually pull a Disney and make everything happily ever after. Why couldn't Axel just die, and Roxas, and Namine, and all of the furious XIII, and Ansem, and all the people who became heartless. It's seriously losing credibility with me here.

Well it's a theory at least. I feel if he weren't it would make the game superior without him having the predictable role of team of heroes, it would also open up room for Donald and Goofy to get a slice of action as they seem to be developing somewhat of a bloodlust. If he were to have been a pure light would he so easily have fallen into uncertainty with the simple mind games in KH3D? The fact that Roxas was partially dark as well suggests to me more of an uncertainty with Sora as well. It's just a theory I suppose but if Sora was indeed a light, which one on the list would be excluded? I'm unfamilliar with the Terra situation, I know he was all dark in Birth by Sleep but to be honest I only played Ventus in that game. I got the basic gist that he realised the light when he was talking to Xeahnort in the secret ending and I presume he'll be one of the 'lightest' and raring to go when saved, though maybe naiive. I honestly see it as being a possibility, especially as I feel there are little hints along the way. No one's ever particularly said Sora was a massive 'light' and there are always little tipoffs about how weird it is he can wield the Keyblade even with Riku going 'dark'. And what is the whole concept of light and dark in this game series? Basically when you have evil in your heart you are a 'dark', in that case a lot of people would be excluded from the list and mess up the whole thing if you count Riku, Lea and Terra. So I presume those are all going to be somehow lights and I do imagine Sora as being somewhat of a waverer. He failed the test, he's a kid, easily manipulated, he's always been alright with a D on the left and indeed a G on the right but they are not keyblade wielders so they can't come. Without them though, Sora may be considered somewhat of a liability due to the events of KH3D despite being a 'light' so that could be reason enough to go for Terra and the others. And that whole speech at the end with Ansem talking about how Sora is special really made up for a game that I thought was otherwise the worst in the series with its developments. Here, take a look around the 3:50 mark:

Again, its a theory and it bases highly around the direction I want the series to go in, of course if I were in charge of it I'd make KH3 the last in the series as I think another 'saga' wouldn't work at all, but that's just me and they will make another saga as Kingdom Hearts is getting on to being almost the same as Final Fantasy in terms of cash cow levels. Also, as a final note, think about what the whole of KH3D was about. It was essentially the downfall of Sora. There were some other different plot developements which were nearly all terrible but essentially it was Sora's downfall. This appeals to me as KH3 should be about Sora being a bit weak, a bit pathetic, everyone's outgrown him and he has to prove that he's the best and they're all a bunch of suckers for thinking they can take on the enemy themselves when he has had to constantly save their arses in the past.
*EDIT* So 6:58 pretty much confirms he's not a light. Of course you can never be too sure with the dub as it's not as Nomura originally intended but I don't think it's a slip. As said, the whole game's premise is pointing out that he's not really a light but more of an ordinary guy. Anyway, thought it was an interesting note.

I agree. The deck system is decent and offers far more choice that will hopefully go up to Final Fantasy level and individual spell cooldowns were desperately needed. My main complaint with the system is that using it is really awkward; you fight a bit, spam-cast some spells, hit with keyblade a few times, then run around in circle staring at deck, furiously searching for cure with D-pad and eventually hitting it, look up and you are running into the level border. I think the two systems are almost identical, though I prefered the old menu better as it has nice animations and felt more organised, but they both suffer the fatal flaw of being too slow. Kingdom Hearts' fighting system is far too clunky for such fast paced action and needs button combinations, that KH2 lightly touched upon, for at least the keyblade (to prevent x spamming) and more L1 action for the spells. I also loathe and detest gaining a deck slot as a reward, just learning the spell should be enough.

Kingdom Hearts 2 had a more interesting, though unnecesarily convoluted, plot line. The original Kingdom Hearts had slightly more interesting battle mechanics, more interesting and creative worlds, more puzzle-centric levels (which is infinitely better than just strolling in and hack anad slashing), slightly less annoying characters and less pointless mini-games as replay content, the bosses were better and more difficult as well and the enemies in general were more inspired as well as harder. In that sense Kingdom Hearts is vastly superior as its story was easily up to scratch with 2's but, something about the voice acting, the colour, the plot, the characters, the Disney-ness appealed to me hugely in Kingdom Hearts 2 and has always been my favourite for some inexplicable reason. Regardless this thread, as well as most of your others 'Neku_Sakuraba', is in the wrong section. This section is basically a wasteland though, which is odd as the rival site KH13's section for theories and such is far more extensive but I prefer this site and its less amount of idiots, which is probably why it is left be.

It should, and probably will, be released on the PlayStation 4 or whatever the new PlayStation will be called. It is quite clear that it will not be released on the PS3, most probably not on the Wii U as its abilities would be more of an impairment than an advantage as well as having a negligible fanbase, and the new Xbox would have such a minor fanbase on it that Square (as well as Microsoft) would more than likely lose money than gain anything. At any rate, unless Sony dies or becomes an arse, it will definitely be developed for the new PlayStation, ports being too hard to predict.

I think there will definitely be new original worlds. I personally do not want a return to the World That Never Was, Twilight Town or Radiant Garden. And that may be quite likely as well. The end of KH3D suggests we will see a return to the bloody Keyblade Graveyard (which is one of the most boring, dull and generally weakest endgame levels ever) so they better improve on that area in numerous ways. What may be likely is another anime-esque side story like the Twilight Town, which I'm personally not a fan of but some people may enjoy. I'd like to see another Kingdom Hearts exclusive world as well but I've yet to see one which beats the End of the World. All in all I think I'd just like to see a lot of effort and work put into this title and I hope it becomes the magnum opus of the Kingdom Hearts series as, unless it is just as interesting, I don't think I'll continue playing into the next 'saga' as I don't see how the series can change with so little more Disney films to cover and the same characters all the time. But it wouldn't be the same without them, I just wish the series would end with a spectacular bang in KH3. Long video game series never end very well, as Final Fantasy has quite thoroughly proven. Still we can only buckle down and theorise as the long wait for Kingdom Hearts 3 continues, I think we have at least another 5 years to go.

Well this is my first post, but I won't do any introductions, I only really signed up as I was bored and wanted some opinions on my theory. I didn't play Kingdom Hearts 3D as I am poor (and need to save up for the inevitable release of Kingdom Hearts 3 on the PS4 anyway) but I watched a walkthrough and thought it was crap and made the plot ridiculous but that's another story. The basic gist, I believe, is that Xeahnort has come up with another crazy plan to create Kingdom Hearts with 13 dark vessels fighting 7 light ones. I don't know the details of the 13 but that's not really important for this theory. My idea is about who the 7 lights are and immediately I noticed something:

    1. Mickey
    2. Riku
    3. Kairi (that's what I understood from the secret ending anyway)
    4. Lea
    5. Aqua
    6. Terra
    7. Ventus

So Sora could not be included in these 7 'lights'. Sorry if this has already been picked up on, I had a scroll round the forums but didn't see much relating. There are some flaws, in that it would require a haste rescue of Aqua and Terra as well as the seperation of Ventus from Sora (possibly weakening him a lot) and sorting out the whole Terra issue, which I don't really understand anymore as Xeahnort's an old git again. My thinking is that the whole idea of Kingdom Hearts 3D was discovering that Sora isn't necessarily a total, pure 'light' or a conventional keyblade wielder. I got the idea that he was special and had 'ways of recovering what was lost just by being him' or something like that which Ansem said at the end. Therefore I think (and hope) that Kingdom Hearts 3 will be comprised of Sora being initially excluded from this 'battle' that is meant to go down and him gathering up those other three lights so they can sort it out while Sora and his buddy boys D and G sort some serious **** out down South. Of course Sora, D and G would then have to sort those jokers out who will inevitably fail at taking out the Xeahnorts and save the day. That's what I hope anyway. I get the feeling he may be part of those 7 and the plot will be kind of boring and Sora's 'specialness' will fade away with the ridiculous number of keyblades we seem to be seeing left, right and of course the centre. That's just another theory anyway. Thoughts?
