...My personal theory is that Xion is Aqua's nobody. Before you rip me to shreds, XEHANORT became XEMNAS because he lost his memory and changed his name to Ansem before becoming a nobody/heartless. The same thing could have happened to Aqua. Xion, after all, has no memory of her previous self.
