I love two things, which are related to one another: 1) RPG's. 2) PS2, the one stop shop for all of your RPG needs.

Also, as I have a rabid love for Strategy RPG's, I love my PSP.

Much like this pic, I have one somewhere of me licking the Legend of Zelda Complete animated series. I lick things, so what?

From my experience, the majority of the population do this almost as a validation of their faith. It's akin to how some people would bash homosexuals so that they feel more uncomfortable with their heterosexuality. In some people's minds, rather most people's minds, to respect these other religions is to give up the power of their own, therein casting doubt upon salvation (which I see as the main point of religion. To quote Hamlet, "For in that sleep of death what dreams may come When we have shuffled off this mortal coil, Must give us pause"). That's just the way that I see it though.

So, this has been a phenomenally boring weekend, which has left me lots of time to make AMV's, which I just discovered how to make. I would love any feedback you all can give.

The first video I made was of KH I & II. There are spoilers, so beware. It doesn't really have a story though, so I look at it as kind of a trailer, of sorts. The Song is by Sixx A.M. "Life is Beautiful". P.S. I do realize I've already posted it, but it wasn't entirely in the correct area, and I figured I might as well post it here with my second AMV.

Youtube Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVskT0Zl1n0 (I'm having problems joining the KH-Vids portal, something about an invalid email)

The second video was of Final Fantasy XII. Once more spoilers, though none are really explicit. I tried to focus on Ashe and Basch primarily, with slight looks at other characters. It loosely (and I mean loosely) follows the story of Final Fantasy XII, showing why Ashe and Basch are stuck in the conflict. Also, my Movie Maker messed up and wouldn't let me use more than half of my FFXII video's (would just terminate the program), so yea, I was limited in my creation of this. I'm not super pleased with it, but I do feel that it deserves to be viewed.

It wasn't so much that the world is false, from what I remember, but more so that our perception of the world is false, an illusion embedded in our mind by a demon.

White_Rook: Am I right in remembering Descartes saying that God couldn't be the deceiver due to something of a notion in his mind of a benevolent God? If memory serves, he then ended by stating that it must be the work of some demon.

My first AMV ever, as I just recently found out that one can make a video via Windows Movie Maker. I would love any comments you guys might be able to give.

*** There are Spoilers for all three games already released. Watch at your own discretion***

Yea, it was about an hour later that I realized I was off. *shrug* I'm an English major, not Philosophy. Though I will say that I remember him talking about everything around us being an illusion of some demon, but not God, or something to that effect. Been 2+ years since I've read anything by him though.

Exactly. People seem to forget that with the rise of Christianity in the CE, many things which existed already were appropriated into the religion. If memory serves me right, we have Constantine to think for that. Then with fear of damnation from an absolute power, His speakers (the clergy) imposed laws that everyone would follow, out of both faith and fear. Marriage is no different, and neither is homosexuality. Relations between men have often been the preferred relations of some societies, believing that love amongst men was more pure.

Then we have today, with a nation that was founded on the seperation of church and state, so the Bible should really have no say in the laws that we make. What then could be the justification for the banning of such a marriage? The preservation of mankind? Just because my neighbor is a gay man living with another man who loves Halford Harnesses, I'm not gonna stop doing my duty to the population. I don't see how allowing them to marry would affect it either. In responding to this argument in 2007, the Washington Defense of Marriage Alliance, a supporter of same-sex marriage, began a petition drive to place a ballot measure on the November 2007 ballot that would require opposite-sex couples who marry to have children within three years or have their marriages become legally unrecognized. Couples seeking a marriage license would also have to show they can produce children. The group admits this ballot initiative aims at calling attention to the Washington Supreme Court's decision in Anderson and the logical extension of this reasoning to childless and/or sterile heterosexual couples.

In 2004, there were 118,000 children available for adoption. Do we really need to have Homosexuals having children when there are still this many children in need of a loving family? Should there be only marriage for procreation? What about these kids, do we not care about them? I think we should take care of who is here now before we bring anyone else here. Some say that homosexuals shouldn't be allowed to raise children, as they might "gay-ify" them. SEVERAL research studies have been done, and are being conducted, on this topic, and I'll allow you to find and look at them yourselves. Now for a quote that I really like:

"Promoting hatred and bigotry in the name of God is what destroys society, not the marriage of two loving people of the same gender." Raymond Miller, "United Church welcomes 'sinners'," The Toronto Star, letters to the editor, 2005-OCT-04.

"A loving man and woman in a committed relationship can marry. Dogs, no matter what their relationship, are not allowed to marry. How should society treat gays and lesbians in committed relationships? As dogs or as humans?" ~anonymous~

Rabbi Shmuley Boteach: "...what two gay men do in the privacy of their bedroom is totally different. Unlike polygamy or incest, no rational person can argue that two men having gay sex is going to undermine the legal institution of marriage. Those that do are probably more interested in attacking gays than protecting marriage." 5 "Homosexuality Is A Religious Sin, Not An Ethical One"

Much like the philosopher Descartes, except that he refused to just believe it was real, stubborn as he was. He said that the is no innate "being" of anything. There is no "deskness" of a desk, therefor it is not a desk, but rather just a function. And through that, he tries to prove that nothing we perceive is real, but just some idea, some illusion.
