Probably a character limit, so it doesn't take up an additional line.
One of us. One of us.
Great write-up. I'm of the belief that Xigbar as seen in DDD is time traveling. All references to him (in-game and the official soundtrack) are as Xigbar, and it would be needlessly complicated for him to be turned into a Nobody again. And if he were the recompleted Braig from the present, he presumably wouldn't fade away when the (currently) 12 Darknesses needed to go back to their own time. From my understanding Master Xehanort exists in the present, and although he fades out just like all the others, he seems to do so willingly after his speech, while all the others are affected at the same time. I assume you're the Elfdemon from KH13 and Reddit. Good to have you here as well :)
View attachment 47609 At long last, our cutscene archive is complete. We're finishing things off with the scenes from Kingdom Hearts Final Mix on PS4. I used the new "Theater Mode" that was added to 1.5+2.5 to smooth out a few audio transitions, but that aside, all audio/video was captured in-game. Make sure to check out the "Extra + Alternate Scenes" file as well. There's tons of bonus content, like summon animations, secret bosses, miscellaneous short clips, and some rare alternate scenes that many of you have probably never seen before. Oh! And while we're here, if you previously downloaded the cutscenes from Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep - A fragmentary passage -, I suggest you re-download the two scenes "Forest of Thorns" and "Ending". I made some further edits to reduce the stuttering in those scenes. And that's that. We eagerly await the release of KH3, but for now, do what you will with these vids. Big thanks to @libregkd for updating our Cutscene Archive as it continued to grow. Peace!
We just added it today, in high quality. Also, we replaced the KH1 scenes with the PS4 version, so re-download if you want it all in better quality. Enjoy :)
Thanks, fixed.
Got that bond.
lol I was upstate all week with no wifi. So thanks to our server issues I couldn't sign in here at all.
Should be working now :)
View attachment 47493 Hey folks, got a massive update for you today! We're now hosting all the cutscenes from Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix! That's 13+ hours of cinematics, including a few rare cutscenes you may have missed, which can be found in the "Extra + Alternate Scenes" file. This also marks the first time we've offered the Final Mix-exclusive scenes in English, and I'm happy we could deliver them in such high quality. Captured from the PS4 version, this game is looking sharper than ever. While the PS4 version has some occasional stuttering during cutscenes, I've taken care to edit that out anywhere I noticed it. And as a little bonus, you can also download a handful of KH2FM's Boss Battles. Our Cutscene Archive is almost complete. Thanks to @libregkd for keeping all that Data Org'd (get it?). KH1 Final Mix on PS4 is nearing completion, so you should see it very soon. Until then, peace.
Always.
Earlier this week, there was an update to Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5. It enabled the use of two optional add-ons: an extra cutscene in the Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days movie, as well as the addition of Theater Mode to Kingdom Hearts Final Mix. In addition, it also included several long-awaited bug fixes. While the official patch notes are somewhat vague, we have a detailed list, thanks to the combined effort of many dedicated fans/speedrunners. Here are the highlights: Unfortunately, a few new issues popped up during this patch, including: For full details, check out Bizkit047's notes. Overall this is a great improvement, and most would agree it is a net positive. However, the new bugs that appeared are a problem that definitely needs fixing, if this is to be considered a high quality port. It's important to note that the much-criticized audio bugs are still in this version. Let us know your thoughts. Has this new patch brought in anyone who was still on the fence about this collection?
There's an extra add-on you have to install for the scene to show up. It's separate from the patch, and you need to manually find and download it.
View attachment 47410 Hey everyone, exciting news! As a surprise treat, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMix received an add-on with Patch 1.03 that adds an extra scene to the 358/2 Days movie. The final fight with Xion is now fully animated! You can check out the new scene in this video: And the scene has also been updated in our 358/2 Days Cutscene Archive. Download the file "Day 356 - Day 357" to get the new scene. What are your thoughts on this sequence? More updates coming very soon. Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 are fully recorded, and editing is well underway. In the meantime, you can download all the other games' cinematics in 1080p from our Cutscene Archive. Until next time!
The only one that bothers me personally is Lea. I don't care for his Keyblade design, and his Chakrams were a really neat weapon that suited him. As for Riku, his arc makes perfect sense, and regaining control of a Keyblade is totally fitting. He didn't lose it because of darkness: he lost it because his heart was weak. He was easily influenced be Ansem and Maleficent, overcome with jealousy, and struggled to hold on to his identity. But once Riku accepted himself, he was once again worthy. As for Kairi, I'm not too worried about her being unique. I feel like Birth by Sleep (and DDD to a lesser degree) shows that people can have pretty substantial differences and specialties, even if they all wield a Keyblade. And with the introduction Keyblade transformations, there's even more potential to define those differences. My only worry with Kairi is whether or not she'll have enough time to shine. She's gained more and more agency with each game that she's in, I just hope she gains enough to be a significant player in KH3. I've heard similar things said, and I don't think this is quite accurate. Some people lamented that Sora used to feel special in KH1, but now it's explained that you can just "give" someone a Keyblade. And because of that, the Keyblade is no longer this mystical thing that chooses its master, so the magic is lost. But the thing is you can't just hand someone a Keyblade. Each Keyblade wielder still has to be special. There's clear evidence of that in the Passing of the Power ceremony: "In your hand, take this Key. So long as you have the makings, then through this simple acting of taking its wielder you shall one day be." We've seen the Keyblade reject people before (Leon, Jack Sparrow, both Sora and Riku at certain moments), so clearly just touching it isn't enough. And while explaining how the proces does de-mystify it to a degree, I still think Keyblades have minds of their own. There's no concrete evidence that Sora has the "one and only true Keyblade" as you say (though I won't totally dismiss that possibility). Like I said, every Keyblade wielder is special in one way or another. I think in Sora's case, it's his disposition of starting from nothing with no extraordinary talents. He's just "a dull, ordinary boy" as Xehanort phrased it. As far as we know, Sora doesn't have any divine calling or anything inherently superior about him. His ability to rise to the occasion and unite people is what makes him special.
Minor note, I believe that "/3" refers to the third quarter. Meaning the earliest we'd see KH3 or FFVII:R is September 2018 or so. Could be wrong though.
We just started adding cutscenes to our YouTube channel. Starting off with Kingdom Hearts 02, then X Back Cover, etc., we'll be uploading a couple videos each day :)
You are beautiful, darling :)
I'll bring this up when I get a chance :)
