I actually meant for an additional role for someone like Glen, who doesn't actually have a actual role on the ship (well not one that involves responsibilities).
Feel free to copy paste my descriptions of you into it or to use variants of them in it. Also are we only including the people who are contributing in it or all of the active roster? Also I was thinking for an additional role that has stuff to do, maybe a combat or weapons specialist or gunner. They would be in change of aiming and firing the weapons in an attack, but would also be good with a sword (or light saber) for when we actually visit planets.
I remember making this xD The latin apparently means 'To steal treasures in heaven'. As for the plot how about we do a "regular" day aboard our ship. By this I mean we go around introducing us all as we go about our duties on board with all our usual madness then at some point we'll probably come under attack or raid a ship or planet. Also would people be okay with a slight edit of some of the roles for the sake of the story? I mean this as we're missing some pretty key roles and at the same time, some of the roles we already have I don't know how to translate that into what you actually do on the ship.
I'll do that in the morning as it's almost 1am. Also it took me some time to figure out who you were, ie your past usernames as for some reason I can't access your profile.
Spoiler: Introducing our Capt'n Marushi strolled confidently down the ship to take her rightful place in the Captain’s seat. Long black hair swept out behind her as she walked briskly, coming out from a gold-rimmed pirate’s hat on her head. However, nobody would mention it, but those in the know were aware of the silver wolf ears that the hat kept safely hidden. Her full-length cloak further enhanced her impressive aura. A grin of sorts covered her face, as she swept into the helm and took her seat. She sat in a relaxed manner, with her legs over one arm of the chair, displaying her knee-high boots. With a simple flick of her wrist in the air, a can came flying into her hand, originating with her attentive first mate. The crew around her exchanged knowing smiles at their Captain’s relaxed manner. It was true she had a slight reputation for being a bit frivolous and sometimes quite impulsive but if you were expecting mutany, then you should look elsewhere. Marushi was the kind of Captain that would pull through when it mattered and protect her crew with all she had. She may be relaxed and not always the most organised, but Loxare was always on hand to make up for that. Marushi had slowly gained the respect of her crew over time and she had made this ship a home for all of them, so they’d endure her sometimes crazy impulsive actions.
Spoiler: First Mate Loxare, reporting for duty!! “Right away Capt’n, we’ll be going in no time at all”, a girl with short auburn hair and a smart uniform done up perfectly, answered with a small salute. This was Loxare, the ship’s ever attentive first mate and navigator. She was known on the ship as a friendly face, who was highly efficient and good at gauging the Captain’s needs and keeping everything running shipshape. She was also the one who would probably notice when you were slacking off your job but she was kind enough to give you a sharp prod before you got in major trouble. Keep it up though and you don't really want to see her bad side. Her deep brown eyes shone as she went about her regular duties and the route towards the next location was sorted in record time.
I was never going to draw you, only do a description. Hmm then why don't you just have silver fox ears, popping out from your hair that are usually hidden beneath your pirate hat?
If people want to leave it up to me I could probably come up with some sort of descriptions of how I imagine people but I wanted to ask so that I didn't offend anyone. Also I have no idea how I picture you now as it feels like you're quite different to my image of you years ago.
hahaha, is that what you actually imagine me as looking like xD
I really like asking people to draw what they imagine me to look like without me providing them with any description or photos of me. Just finding out what people imagine me to look like is really fun. However what you said is a good idea and if it's for the story I should probably provide you with a description first.
If we did the writing thing, I'd like us to work together on the plot but also I'd like to get everyone's descriptions of themselves or at least what key features are most notable and would be emphasised in the story. Bare in mind that this is how you see yourself on this ship so can be as close or as far away to your actual appearance as you like. So these could be like clothes, hair style and colour, skin colour (you can be green if you want), height, voice, any quirks, ect. Like for me I'd want it to be included that I'm really really short. Also I think if people want to do art type things, they should try to illustate the story.
Okay then would writing be a better idea? We all write a bit in here so if we work together, we could probably make a good short story about one of our adventures. Then if we have an aspiring artist in our mix, they could illustrate it if they wanted. Or someone could do a dramatic reading of it afterwards.
I'm not that great at art or drawing either so I'm not sure how much help I could be.
Is this still a thing?
Yay, more British people!!! Welcome to KHV, I hope you like it here, I should warn you we're all weird and crazy but that's half the fun. Sooo are you really a Historian? And north or south?
Ooh the two column thing you've done is interesting. I think it actually works quite well for your references but I'm unsure about having your skills and education next to eachother on the same level. Also maybe try to adjust the spacings between each section so it fills two pages nicely and you don't have a huge space at the bottom? You don't want to go over 2 pages though. I still think that font is quite hard to read, particularly on the bolded bits. Nice work on adding the team-player bit, as good customer services is good but customers aren't the only people you'll need to communicate with. You need good written and verbal communication skills. I think there is a vast improvement on where you started though. (I keep editting my posts and adding more as I didn't want to double post but I'm not sure if you saw any of my edits)
Well does the project have to involve us recording ourselves? I'm also in favour of a group project but I get the feeling the participaion will be higher if it's not microphone related. Maybe something graphic related?
This is a big improvement on your last one and I really like it. I would maybe say add in a bit more about your communication skills and team work skills as these are usually important ones that employers look for. Also maybe mention leadership skills as I believe you can justify these in training new employers and in being a co-leader in the teacher role. That said, I don't actually like the font change. It's much harder to read and I don't think that's a good thing.
Personally I think it looks better as 1 January 2016 - 1 February 2016 as I'm British and that's the order our dates are written but in this instance do you really need to specify the day? 'June - August 2016' also works. I suppose the amount of detail you need depend on the amount of time spent there, if you were only there a month then dates might be important, if you were there like half a year then you may only need months (not exact days) and if you're there for years, you probably only need to specify the years you were there between. I don't think I'm really helping here, just giving you more options.
Be prepared though as any transferable skill you mention you have, they might ask you for an example of where you have demonstrated this. That's why it's also good to link it to a role where you needed that skill. But like if you mention being able to use your own initiative, they might be like 'give an example of a time where you used your initiative', so I recommend you think about these so if you get asked about it you can answer without any issues. Additionally think about adding more sections to your CV like a general interests or hobbies section, what do you do outside of work. This will show you're a more rounded person and give them more to ask about in interviews. Maybe consider a skills section with stuff like 'proficient with using Microsoft Office, computer literate' and the transferable skills you've mentioned in your roles. A good CV should be no more than two pages, if you're struggling for space then change references to available on request. If you don't fully fill the page(s), change the amount of space between each paragraph and space it out so it looks like it just fits nicely onto one or two pages.
