Wattana placed her hand up to her chin as if in thought. Her request seemed rather simple, but she just ended up giggling slightly and holding up her hands in a who knows? motion and she spoke, "I don't know, we have a lot of gangs around here you see. Some are kind to us, some of them aren't." She placed her hand up to her chin again and made a noise for thought again and just shook her head, "Yeah, I don't know any. Jian would though. He's more into that scene. I'm just the one who busts him out of it." Wattana spotted something in the shadows out of the corner of her eyes and she looked, but it immediately disappeared. But then something moved again. She couldn't notice anything if there was something in the shadows, and she just shrugged it off and assumed it was a cat or something.
Memory 5 Kaida was now officially forced to go outside and get fresh air. Despite the fact she herself had found out there was another half of the world that was night time all the time. They wanted her to get used to the sun, because on this world the night side was only used for research, medical bays, and places for people to eventually go to bed. Perpetual night sounded a lot better to her but that was clearly not an option. When they got her outside, the first thing she usually did was find a spot for shade. One place she had found and often frequented was a tree not too far away from the door but far enough out for her to not be scolded for not being in the sun. Sometimes she snuck a book or two outside and read about night and day. Oh how she wished there was a sort of sunset on this planet, she wouldn't mind that. When Seiza was in motion again, and they let him take breaks out, they usually did not let him out in the sun (due to the fear that since was much older than her and he was not in the sun for much longer, plus there was the fact he was still hooked up to some machines) but at the very least they'd let Kaida go with him outside in the night side. It at least made her feel encouraged enough to whittle again, mostly because Seiza mentioned wanting her to carve out a moon for him. A small one, but still a replica of the moon. She brought the wood outside when she was in the shade under the tree and found herself focusing in on the moon. She was not necessarily hating the world as much as she was missing being night all the time. Just from being outside in the dayside made Kaida lose a lot of her developed night-vision. One time, a kid from the academy asked her what she was still doing there if she was not part of it. She just got annoyed by them and told them to leave her alone whenever they approached her with such questions. She sometimes put up her hood to make her less noticeable and just hoped she would get out of there at some point. Kaida had to get a long sleeved shirt after a certain point, the sunburns were becoming such a health concern. Someone mentioned casually at some point, "Well at least she'll have a nice tan when it settles in." One day, Kaida was half asleep under a tree with her sleeves fully rolled down, on that day one of the adults mentioned to her that she needed to get out of that shade at some point. She was fully content with being in the dark, and she was certain nothing was going to change that thought. She heard a bit of motion in her half daze and saw something drop to the ground out of the corner of her eye. She looked up but she could not make out what the object was, but she did see the individual who dropped it. They seemed to be heading away from there and Kaida looked back over at the object. She certainly did not want this person to lose something important so she yelled to them from her shadowed hiding spot, "You dropped something!" The individual stopped and turned around mumbling, "Hm?" they looked around and saw the object and picked it up. When they did this Kaida could see it was some sort of pouch. "Oh, so I did...Thank you mysterious voice from somewhere!" They looked around before they found Kaida, who at this point was angled mostly away from them. She was hiding behind the tree though, and that was evident. "Ahh, Hello voice from over there!" they looked around before they stepped a little forward continuing, "Are you... hiding from some one?" Kaida shook her head and squinted to try and see them better, and was able to at least see them. Although the voice was a little high at this point, the person she was talking to was a boy about her age with blue hair. She looked up at the sky before replying, "Huh? Oh... not someone, rather, something." "Heartless?!" they quickly looked around as if alerted, while Kaida just looked plain confused. "No, uh... something else. But, you'll... you'll think I'm ridiculous if I tell you." The boy shook their head in respond and spoke, "You did me a favor when you let me know I dropped this. Last thing I would do is mock you for a fear. We're all allowed to be scared of things... it's what allows us be brave." Kaida thought about whether or not she should just go ahead and tell him, but it just seemed to slip out anyway, "W-well, they kick me out of the buildings every once in a while to get "fresh air" but um... I'm afraid of the sun..." The boy looked up to the sky and squinted their eyes, then shielded their eyes, "Well it can be pretty intense. But why would you be afraid of it?... I mean.. it's light." "Well... I come from a world where its "always night" and well..." Kaida walked a few steps forward, still staying in the shade, but getting close enough so the boy could see what she was talking about. On her arms were some pretty bad sunburns, "I got these in less than three minutes. And that's a new record when it comes to longest amount of time." The boy seemed to stare calmly at the burns and looked up at her, "Another world?... Cool! But the sun burning you isn't. so we'll just have to fix that!" the boy looked into a bag to his side and looked for something. He pulled out one of the academy helmets and held it up towards her, "Ta-da! Sunblock for your head! I just got accepted a few days ago, so I'm still learning, but this helmet should block out the sun from hurting your head at least. See if it fits!" Kaida stared at the helmet and accepted it, she then placed it on her head but everything felt awkward and very loose, "Is this right? I can't see a thing." The boy laughed at her before turning the helmet around and adjusting it so she could see him through it, "There... better?" and then he smiled. Kaida let out a quick gasp before grabbing the helmet, "Oh... OH IT WAS BACKWARDS." she couldn't stop laughing before she continued, "Yeah, that's a lot better." The boy laughed along before continuing, "Okay. now you have protection. Now you don't have to be afraid." he walked more out of the shade and held out a hand towards her, "Just roll downs your sleeves and you're good to go. I won't anything hurt you... I promise." Kaida hesitated for just a moment before rolling down her sleeves and accepting their hand, "A-alright..." The boy slowly started to pull Kaida out more into the sun saying, "Are you still afraid?" "Shh don't remind me." "Remind you of what?" "The su-" Kaida freaked out right then and pulled away and backed back into the shade. The boy sighed whole-heartedly before replying, "Okay... then I'll stay in the shade with you until you're ready to come out." "Uh-huh, right. Sure. It might take a while." The two sat in silence for a few minutes in the shade before she decided to formally introduce herself. She held her hand out towards them as if to shake their hand and spoke, "I'm Kaida." The boy did not return the handshake and instead smiled and spoke, "Hikaru." Kaida placed her hand down awkwardly before shrugging, "Hikaru huh? What made you pick a name like that?" "Not sure. I don't really remember my parents, but I was raised in the village so long as I can remember... What made them call you Kaida?" Kaida leaned back against the tree and spoke, "Oh well, we pick our names where I'm from, what we feel really speaks to us. That's why I ju- I'm not used to this whole not from the same world thing." "That's what this world is for. A home for those who have none... So I welcome you to your new home Kaida" Kaida was quiet and stared off and mumbled, "Thank you." she was wondering about whether or not she was regretting the fact she did have a home. And she wanted to go back for a moment there. But while having these thoughts, Hikaru touched his head against the helmet she was still wearing to see past the goggles, "You're welcome..." Kaida reassured herself about going out in the sun, she felt a sort or rejuvenated courage and decided to try it again, "Alright... alright, one more time." "Nah, I'm good" Hikaru kicked back and continued, "I'm used to life without the sun now. Don't think I can go back to that life. The warm sun against your body and filling you with such a happy sensation is not the life for me." "I wasn't aware people enjoyed being sad. Congratulations. I've now learned three or four things today." She waited a moment before she grabbed Hikaru's leg and tried to pull him out, "Alright smart guy I get your trick, get up." "No!! My dark abyss! Don't take me back!" Kaida dropped his leg and backed up more into the sun. She rolled her sleeves up and felt the burning immediately begin to worsen. Then she took off the helmet and placed it to the ground. Kaida took a deep breath and spoke, "Alright then. I will stand here until you get out of that shade." Hikaru waited a moment and Kaida found herself cringing from the pain before Hikaru ran over and placed the helmet back on her head, "Okay, okay, I've seen the errors of my ways! I have seen the light!" he waited a moment before smiling at her, "And now... so have you." Hikaru grabbed her hand and spoke, "Kaida, meet the sun." Kaida looked up as she spoke, "Hi sun, please stop hurting me..." Hikaru chuckled as he continued, "I think you'll get along with time... Time... ackk! I'm late!!" he started to jet off to a building as he yelled, "It was great meeting you! I'll meet you back here tomorrow to talk about the sun and junk!" He ran off again and Kaida shouted back, "Thank you Hikaru.... oh! Wait!" she pulled the helmet off of her head and ran after Hikaru, "Wait! You forgot your helmet!"
Kaida heard Cailyn's comment about her telling Roe to back her up because "the newbie was doing fine on her own". She was not sure if she should be happy about proud of herself for doing so well that people thought that way, or if she should be upset over the fact the two were doing more of their own thing. She looked at the weasel Cailyn had not finished off, and she finished it off. Then she decided that the two of them could handle the guards for a bit. She was going to take on Pete. She set her eyes at him, almost as if there was a sort of lock-on system and she ran at him. Pete's eyes widened in terror and he let out a "WOAH" then ran off for just a little bit before she let out a yell and ran at Pete. She slashed down with her keyblade and knocked him to the ground. She noticed the weasels paying more attention to her but she still hacked and slashed at Pete as much as she could. She grabbed Pete and using as much strength as she could muster she moved him in front of her so the guards would not attack him. Kaida backed up a bit to breathe and reanalyzed her strategy. Kaida hit Pete once more before she looked over at Cailyn and Roe shouting, "Hey, are you two alright over there?" OOC: BP Used: 19 240 words: 12 EXP 29/50 Guards Left 157/300 Pete

Oh wow this thread is grate. What do you call grilled cheese that is too close to your face? Too close for comfort food
I'm sorry I can't stop laughing. It just pops up out of nowhere and it looks like something someone would make on mmd as a joke, purposefully making it look glitchy as all hell. I keep looking at it thinking he's like: "I have defeated the foe, the ultimate enemy. I have reached infinite levels of badass. All I need now is..." -cape grows- "...I am satisfied." I just keep picturing a slide whistle as it grows just ugh man I can't take it seriously.
Yay~
Hey guys, I didn't want to make an official thread in the Writer's Nook for this since I am certain at some point in the RP every memory in this will be used, albeit not in order. At the same time, I wanted to start writing some stuff out. So if anyone does happen to follow this... they are "ahead of the game" but if not, then that's fine. This is mainly for me if anything at all. [also corny title just for the sake of having a title] Note: I am labeling memories but there really isn't a rhyme or reason specifically except it will help me easier access which one I need and help me keep things in order. I will not be introducing memories in order. Thank you for reading! -cstar ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Memory 4e "You do know they aren't going to do anything to you... right, Kaida? They're being as kind and accommodating as they can considering-" "It wasn't that, you're only hearing their catchup stories over the past two months. It isn't the same now." "Why is it any different? Is it because I'm still alive despite t-" "SHH. I don't want to talk about that." "But I'm not wrong, am I?" Kaida was standing at the foot of Seiza's bed. Her arms were crossed and she wasn't looking in Seiza's direction. Her hair was covering her face awkwardly, since it was longer than she usually had her hair. She was wearing a gray long-sleeved shirt and a pair of black capris. Meanwhile Seiza was still in a hospital gown with 8 machines hooking him in, and while none of them were hooked into his face it was still disturbing for at least Kaida to look at anyway. Kaida fixed her hair and turned back to Seiza with a look of irritation, "It isn't you being alive percy-" "Percy?" "Percy." "Per se?" "Per se--but rather because you haven't been awake in two months." Seiza let out a light chuckle which made Kaida react in worry that he was going to hurt himself laughing, but she immediately calmed down when she realized how over-dramatic she may have been. Seiza leaned his elbow on an armrest the bed had (mainly to help people get out of the bed.) and he leaned his jaw into his arm replying jokingly, "You mean to tell me that you weren't freaking out over the fact I could have been dead?" "They had you on life support I could only hope that-" "Kaida it's fine, I understand." "No you don't and I don't know how you are taking this situation so calmly." "Kaida-" "HOW are you taking this so calmly? We in a completely different world we don't know, you're injured-" "-Kaida-" "-and it's because of a really stupid event brought about by me and now you're sitting here in a hospital bed hooked up to machines and they're telling you that you might not be able to-" "KAIDA." Kaida shut up immediately and held up her arm in apology and her face was filled with horrible concern. Seiza placed his hand up to his chest, his hand shaking. After a few seconds he looked Kaida straight in the eyes and spoke in a pained tone, "I am not calm. I'm trying not to make you worry. It clearly is not working." Seiza took a deep breath and pointed towards the door and spoke, "Maybe you do need to get out of this room. I can only imagine how stir crazy you must be right now." "I don't want to leave you here alone." "Kaida, I need time alone." "Really? No one needs time alone." "Please just-" "I can wait until you're ready and then we can both get out of here together and get off of this crazy world,. Maybe head home but I know it must be killing you sitting in this room and I don't want you to be the only one suffering. After all you wanted off of the world so you could travel around and not be leashed to a-" "Listen L e m o n." The tone was in such a scary tone that it made Kaida back up before he growled, "I am going to say this in the appropriate language I should speak to a ten year old. You are pissing me off, get the- fugg out of here before I have to get out of this bed and throw you out." "B-" "One word. Try one word. I dare you Lemon. I dare you." Kaida clenched her fist and ran out of the room slamming the door behind her. She kept on running despite having no idea where she was. But she finally did stop at the end of a corridor. With a couple more steps she found herself slipping down the wall and hugging her knees right to her chest. She sat there for almost an hour before footsteps approached her and stopped. "Are you alright, Kaida?" Kaida looked up at the adult that had approached her and she growled, "Leave me alone." "Alright grumpy but wouldn't you rather go outside?" "No." "But it is really nice out. There aren't too many clouds in the sky." Kaida thought about it for a moment. She loved looking at the sky when it was nice out and the sky was clear. You could see a lot more stars and everything seemed prettier to her that way. Kaida shrugged and stood up replying, "Okay fine... I'll go..." "Alright, follow me." They lead her to the door for a courtyard. Kaida had a feeling she would be able to contemplate things a little better as she looked at all the constellations. It was easier to think when everything was cool and calm. As soon as the adult opened the door Kaida had run outside as fast as she could and she froze. It was very bright, she couldn't see and she just stood there terrified. There was a heat that burned at her skin, and before she could process anything fully she screamed and ran back inside. The door shut behind her and Kaida fell to the floor rubbing her eyes. The adult that was with her tried to grab her but she pushed their arm and away and flailed screaming, not trusting anything. After about five minutes she could see again and she looked at her arms, which were already a slight red. "Wow, I have never seen someone get a sunburn so quickly before." "A SUNBURN? WHAT IS A SUNBURN?" "It's when you get exposed to the sun for too long and it... well... it just really hurts and it gets worse the longer you are out in the sun." "Oh. That's... wonderful... only one problem. WHAT IS A SUN?!" "The bright ball of light in the sky?" "Oh wha-" "You can't tell me you've never seen the sun before." Kaida just stared blankly for the longest time, the adult let out a light chuckle before they help up a keyblade and casted heal on her. Kaida's skin was still red but according to the adult the pain should be gone from it. When they asked her if she wanted to go outside again, Kaida shook her head and stared at the door in horror.
The two had stopped and listened to this woman. Wattana seemed to be doing most of the listening but by her second statement Jian was zoning out. He reached into Wattana's bag and pulled out a potion. Wattana mumbled under her breath, "Come on that is my last one..." He used it up and when Paige finished talking he stood up on his own without Wattana's help and scratched his head, "Boy, I didn't expect to be preached at today of all things that could have happened." "Shh be respectful she's just trying to-" "I don't care what she's trying to do. She can't tell me how to live my life." Jian waved uncaringly at the two and started to walk away saying, "I'll see you at home." Wattana watched Jian walk away for a moment and she bowed at Paige apologizing, "I'm sorry, Jian is a little... eh... he just doesn't respect people's advice like he should." Wattana shrugged at her and continued, "And as much as your advice is good advice, it's just the way things are around here. And we live here so we tend to slip into that mentality at times." Wattana let out a sigh and mumbled, "Even if I don't like to." She cracked her knuckles and watched Jian officially disappear from view and she replied, "I mean go ahead and escort us to a better part of town but I need to be back here in time for dinner."

OH MY ****ING GOD
Today would be like any other day for Jian. Or at least that was how it seemed when he had his skull smashed into a concrete wall. He had walked into someone's territory again, god forbid there be any territory claims at all, and he was told to leave. He had kept on walking and that resulted in this squabble. There was a crowd surrounding them, enjoying how this fight was going. Jian wasn't losing or anything, his opponent had gotten lucky getting a hold of his head. He blamed his hair mostly for that problem. Jian and his opponent were fighting hand-to-hand rather than with weapons, and Jian was certain if he pulled out his scythe and fought he'd win in a heartbeat. Jian grabbed a hold of the opponent and spun him around so the opponent was against the wall. Still a bit winded, he delivered an uppercut with seemed to hurt Jian's fist more than the opponent. He then quickly grabbed hold of his neck, and the opponent did likewise. Both found themselves strangling each other, and waiting for the other to loosen their grip. Jian was the one losing now. He gasped for air and found himself losing feeling in his arms and they dangled to his sides. The opponent grinned and spoke, "This'll teach you to mess with m-" "HEY!" Wattana found herself walking to the middle of the circle, her axe was in her hand and her face clearly showed she meant business. She looked at the opponent of Jian's and smiled at him, "Let him go before I count to three." The opponent laughed as he continued his business, "And what is a little girl like you going to do to m-" "One." The opponent strangled Jian harder causing him to no longer be able to make noise. His air was fully cut off. The opponent kept his attention towards Jian without focusing on Wattana in the slightest. "Two." A couple of members of the crowd whispered amongst themselves while staring at Wattana. The opponent began to raise Jian higher in the air was was prepared to either snap his neck or slam him on the ground. "Three." Wattana turned around and began to run away. The crowd watched in disappointment and the opponent snickered, "Such a nuisance... counting down and running off when we expe-" An axe went flying at the opponent cutting their arm. They let go of Jian and clutched their arm in pain. The axe went flying back to Wattana, and she caught it and ran at the opponent. She jumped up to slash at them, but they dodged and ran for it. Wattana threw the axe towards their feet, which made contact, causing the opponent to fall. Wattana waited for the axe to return to her before she ran at the opponent and grabbed their hair and pulled their face up and in her direction, "Now, I counted down, and you didn't believe I could do anything. It would be a shame if anyone in whatever group you worked for found out you had your ass kicked by a little girl wouldn't it?" Wattana waited for a response before she forced them to nod. She smiled sweetly and continued, "Great. So why don't you run along now and do something better with your time?" and she smashed their face into the concrete before turning around and walking back to Jian. She grabbed his arm and pulled him up scolding him, "Don't get yourself into fights you can't hold yourself out in. Jeez." "Hey I tired him out for you, if it wasn't for-" "Yeah sure whatever makes you function. Now shut up while I try to get you somewhere a tad bit safe, k'kid?" "Whatever..."

Alex originally had the intent of answering every single why was I chosen question. He figured he'd stretch it out for as long as he could as things got taken care of. But then they began asking more questions than specific ones to them. Most groups he had usually asked questions involving themselves and then they wouldn't ask these types of questions. Clearly this was not a normal group, or a normal day at work. The questions distracted him from reading the file. After a moment he just shook his head and held up the file letting out a small whistle. He waited a moment without really moving, then he tapped his foot impatiently, before he looked up at the ceiling and shouted, "Dick? Are you paying a lick of attention?" he waited for yet another moment before he just shook his head and placed the file on the table. Perhaps he was doing something a little more important at that moment. Alex folded his hands and made eye-contract with as many of them as he could before he answered, "The pink haired girl's stunt with the knife is unaffiliated with our intentions. She did that on her own behalf and we had no idea exactly what she had done until a few minutes ago. Let's just say that we are now in the middle of unexpected circumstances, and it is going to take us much longer than we planned to get you back to your homes." He stopped speaking and placed his hand up to his ear as if listening to something private, after a bit he turned his attention to Damien, "Maria Colt is the eighth person. Lovely girl, she had a family of seven... all siblings. Her parents had abandoned them all when she was young and she did her best to keep them all together. She was the oldest of them all... taking care of all those younger siblings... Nathan... Simon.... Daria... John... Timothy... the other two were too young... we didn't look into them. Maria... hm... how do I put this... Maria-" Alex's head shot up at the ceiling and he put his hand up to his ear and whispered as quietly as he could, although it could still be heard, "Brendan, get in there. Dick isn't responding and it sounds like Rebecca got a hold of the microphone and we need to shut her up before she-" Alex glared at the ceiling before he ran at the door and tried to open it. He tried to force it open afterwards before he kicked it and growled. This was intentional of course, they didn't want everyone to just run out at once and run off, but now it was a severe issue with the situation going on. Alex shouted beating the woman to the punch, and she shut up so they could hear it come from his mouth, "Our testing guarantees what side effects it has on humans.... because we test on humans." Alex refused to look at the group before there was a tsk noise. There was a loud noise before there was silence. Then someone got on the microphone. "Great." Alex took a deep breath and looked over at the group. He was not sure how they would react to that bit of news, he didn't want them to have found out it was a test rat thing. At least not this early on in the game. Alex's calm composure he had as he walked in here was now completely gone. He pulled a gun out from his belt and made sure they knew it was there, "DON'T. Try anything funny." He used the gun to point around the room and spoke, "Even if you succeed there are 73 other people within this facility. If you listen to what I tell you, all of you will make it out of here in one piece. It's a sympathy kind of thing. But if you do try anything funny, and get me down, the 73 other people in this facility will not hesitate to be rid of you. Now." He looked over at Willy and stepped a little closer to the group, now leaning against the table, "Knocking out Derek is no longer an issue... however... would you mind tell me if there was a signature at the bottom of the letter? I'm sure it will clear up some issues we are having with miscommunication." He nodded at Beuce and spoke, "Nothing is keeping you from leaving. If you would like, we have a man out in the front lobby who is willing to take you home." he looked over at Tasha and spoke, "I understand that this is now an issue where other members of- of this group are concerned for you but we cannot get you out of here at this time." Alex took a deep breath and closed his eyes, "Are there any more questions that you all need answered?"
The help was definitely better than fighting on her own. The two keyblade wielders were managing some friendly banter, and she found out their names. They would probably be introduced more formally afterwards, but at least it would be helpful for communication... granted, they did not know her name. Though Kaida was not sure if she just wanted to introduce herself while slashing at guards. It just seemed like there was too much going on anyways. She had not been paying attention to whatever Max was doing, since she was honestly more interested in seeing the other keyblade wielder's abilities. However she was not going to pretend that Max was absent from there, she just had no idea whether he was attacking the guards, helping to distract the guards, or if there were more guards outside of the current area that he was taking care of. Either way, she needed to be more focused on the fight rather than her thoughts, unlike last time where she went on inner tangents about irrelevant questions as if to fill some sort of invisible quota. But the guards were definitely a lot easier than the soldiers were, she finished off one of the guards that were attacked already, then ran after the more able bodied ones. Kaida did a sliding dash towards two of them, but for whatever reason that seemed to not have the effect she was expecting. As she stood up from the position she was in, one of the weasels slashed at her and she let out a yelp in pain. She turned around and slashed the one that had attacked her down. Kaida chuckled slightly and looked over at Pete again, who...Roo...R...Roe? Roe had attacked prior and he was bouncing up and down still pointing at the weasels and telling them to go forth towards them. Clearly he was backing away at the sight of any of them getting anywhere close to him. Kaida looked over at a guard she had attacked with Sliding Dash, the one she had not finished off before, and she slashed at it backhanded. She moved her keyblade from her left to her right hand and made her way towards another guard. She rolled towards it and slashed at it, knocking them down and out faster than she expected considering she thought her sliding dash was showing she was losing steam. Apparently not. She then made her way around the guards and behind Pete, managing to sneak up on him. She placed her hands behind her with her keyblade still in her hand, and she lightly tapped on his shoulder. He seemed to freeze for a moment before he turned his head around and then jumped at the sight of her. Kaida pulled her keyblade out from behind her back and slashed at Pete a couple of times before she had knocked him back towards... Ca...Cail...Cailyn! She looked around at the guards who noticed her little stunt and they started to circle around her angrily for attacking their captain. Kaida let out a nervous laugh as she held up her stance to defend herself, "Probably not the best decision I could have made... hey uh..." the guards charged at her and she let out a shout before she felt herself attacked in almost a circle formation. She rolled out of there and ran as fast as she could towards Roe and turned around facing all the guards now facing them all, "No uh.. Roe? Yeah... no I think I do need more help than I let on...aha..." she held up her keyblade and used cure on herself before getting herself in a fighting stance. ooc: Total BP: 19 Word Count: 616 = 30 EXP 33/50 Guards Left [none with less bp than the usuals] 175/300 Pete
