So, do you think you'll be able to do your arena match against steel any time soon?
Beuce was frozen in time for several moments, but the next thing he knew, he slammed against a piece of metal and was floating in the air. He was sore, but alive. Looking at which keyblade glider he was on, he realized it was Stratos'. He owed that kid his life at least a dozen times over. Then again, they all owed each other that. Maybe that was what made a comrade what it was. You trust each other with your life so many times you stop keeping score. He gave a small chuckle at the thought before sitting up on the glider. Stratos called to him, telling him to use his keyblade however he deemed necessary. Wouldn't that leave him unarmed? I mean, sure it'd help fighting it, but he didn't want to take away Stratos' only means of defense. In the end, he decided to trust in Stratos' decision and use the keyblade for himself. He had regained some MP from Kel's MP gift, and he intended to use it well. Stratos had incapacitated the gears of its head, and that meant for the moment it couldn't use time magic. Now he could approach without fear of becoming frozen and vulnerable to attack. Standing, he fully mounted the glider given to him by his friend and raced forward at Spectrum. The first thing he did was crash through the chest in a barrier of light. Spectrum howled in agony, turning around to counter. Its tusks sparked with electricity, and fired a massive bolt at its attacker. Beuce's increased mobility on his glider was enough to allow him to evade the attack, but the fire arm flared back into activity at a bad time. Hurling a fire ball at Beuce, Spectrum laughed, knowing it wouldn't miss. Beuce un-summoned the keyblade glider and dropped to the ground, just barely avoiding a direct hit, but still be seared by it. Landing with a roll, Beuce quickly spun to face the behemoth. Standing, he glared at the monster. The gears in its head once again started turning, the ice leg reformed, the hole in the darkness chest closed up, and the earth leg grew back into a solid mass. "For your sake, I hope you know what you're getting yourself into, Behemoth. You're looking at the Asmodian Army Governor! Magic isn't all i can do! When you combine magic and strength together, you get a destructive force like no other!" Beuce yelled with confidence, as though it were the behemoth backed into a corner rather than himself. "Haaaaaa!" He began to scream, summoning up the power of his heart, he began to radiate with a red glow. Grasping both of his keyblaes by the hilt, he bolted forward at incredible speed, leaving a red after image of him behind and slicing right through the behemoth. Almost instantaneously, he did so again, appearing beside the behemoth and leaving a gash on it. Again and again, faster and faster, he cut away at the behemoth, leaving crimson after images in the place where he stood. He ended the limit standing in front of the monstrosity, and immediately stomped his foot onto the ground, creating two layers of mines, totaling in sixteen. Raising his hand, he clenched it into a fist and jerked it downward, casting gravity on its head and jerking it downward. This accomplished two things. First, it stopped the gears in its head once more because of gravity, and second, it drug the face toward the earth, where its tusks slammed against the ground and caused the mines to erupt in its face. This was the opportune moment for another wielder to strike and gain back their MP. Kel dashed over and struck the head with a long combo. Rising again after a few seconds, the Behemoth screamed in rage. Its fiery arm flared up, causing the heat of the fire to radiate to the area around it. Beuce nodded at his blue haired companion, indicating to prepare for the oncoming attack. A purple aura of gravity enveloped the demonic arm. "A combination magic?!" Beuce exclaimed. Fire and Gravity usually spelled one thing. Firaga burst. An enormous orb of flame built up in the palm of the behemoth, easily the size of all the wielders combined. Upon being hurled into the air, it spun around, spraying smaller versions of itself in every direction. With quick reaction time, Beuce raised both of his keyblades into the air and crossed them over his head. What seemed to be a miniature storm appeared in a sphere between the blades. on command, it expanded to cover the entire area in a great storm. Water poured down on them from above and wind beat against the area. Beuce was glad that he had disabled the use of its thunder magic, even if just for the moment. 809 words 1040 exp Spoiler: Spectrum Health Spectrum the Elemoth: 116/600
As Ghost was given the option of three doors to enter, he looked at each of them, considering his options. Eventually, he chose the door of wisdom. Once, he had been driven by nothing but revenge, but he had given up on that. Hopefully, he had emerged wiser for it. Entering the door, he found himself in a stone temple. Cherry blossoms floated through the air. It was almost a peaceful atmosphere. At the top of a shrine was a stone wall with what appeared to be a riddle etched into it. Approaching, he began reading it aloud. "What force and strength cannot get through, I with a gentle touch can do. and many in these twisted halls would stand were I not, as a friend, at hand..." He thought about it for a moment, attempting to unravel the meaning behind it. This must be his trial. He thought of the words etched into the stone. What force and strength couldn't get through...Something that was unbreakable, or very difficult to break. If it couldn't be forced open, then there must be some other way. Finally, the answer dawned on him. He drew his blade and scratched three letters into the stone beneath it. "The answer is...Key." As the final letter was finished, the words began to glow. Ghost found himself back on the stone platform, holding a piece of the X-blade's handle. The translucent stairs became solid. He walked up it and found himself in the middle of what seemed to be a dispute. Before he asked what was going on, he placed the piece of the X-blade in its slot. "Control yourselves!" R yelled out, walking over to the group causing trouble. "You bicker like children, comparing scars on your heart until you finally come to blows! What is the purpose of these trials?! If you cannot stop fighting among each other, then we've already lost! The Agents are not a force you can take lightly, if you slip up because of a disagreement, then it will be the death of you!" He then turned to the girl, with an angry expression still on his face. "And Juliet, do you not realize where you are? You may have gotten your shard of the X-blade, but the trial may not be over! If you do not come to terms with your past, then the X-blade may decide you have learned nothing and revoke your fragment! You must learn to conquer your inner demons!"
Quinn waited patiently while she was on the phone with the police chief. It was fairly obvious he wasn't happy about their intervening, but they were special forces. He in particular was a high rank. That made refusing them even more difficult. He was glad that she'd learned pretty much how to handle most situations they'd be in. She gave him the location of their target and he stood up. "Alright, In that case, let's get going." He said. When she asked, he handed her devices back to her. If they were leaving, she shouldn't be able to do too much damage. "Keep in mind what gets those taken away." He warned, basically telling her to not hack everything in the area whenever her eyes were open. And sometimes even that wasn't true. He walked out the door and got into their car. It was a fairly nice car in a dark blue color. He got into the driver's side and waited for her to climb into the passenger seat. "Two blocks south, three east from here, town square you said?" He asked before starting the car. As she nodded that was correct, he began driving toward the specified location. It didn't take them long to get there, and upon arrival, it wasn't difficult to find the girl they were looking for. She didn't exactly blend into the crowd. She was in the center of the square, yelling about conspiracies. There was another person speaking to her, but he didn't recognize them. Getting out of the car, he walked slowly over to her. "Excuse me, Mila? You probably know who i am. I just want to talk to you." To show he meant no harm, he removed the gun he carried from his belt and placed it on the ground in front of him before backing up. "I want you to tell me about what you're talking about. There's an order out that says to bring you in for spreading rumors to disrupt the peace, but i'm not sure i want to do that. Rumors aren't exactly jumped on to silence unless there's some truth to them. So, if there's something going on i don't know about, i want to hear it."
The rest between the behemoths was brief, but absolutely needed. The brief rest eased the ache in their limbs, even if ever so slightly. However, the respite was far too finite. The final behemoth of the north side showed itself. What a monstrosity it was. A massive compilation of all ten elements. but that wasn't all. It seemed...just outright more powerful than any of the other behemoths. There was no question none of them could defeat this thing by themselves. The other behemoths were difficult fights at their strongest, but against a more powerful one while they were all in a weakened state...No, he was sure they could do it. karina and Stratos were performing aerial tactics, but it was able to counter it. It called forth a giant circus balloon with its watery arm. They didn't seem to be overly threatened by this, but Beuce had studied the theory of magic and knew full well what it was. "Back away from it!" He yelled out, but it was too late. The balloon fulfilled its purpose and injured the others. The only reason Beuce was spared was because he had made his assault yet. Taking out his items, he tossed a hi-potion and hi-ether to Stratos, indicating for him to use them as he felt neccessary. "A hit and run tactic won't be too useful here. It seems smarter and stronger than the others. Not to mentioin that it probably has enough area spells to hit all of us...Alright. Here's the plan. I'll hold the vanguard. Keep it busy and be the front lines attacker. Zantetsuken should be enough to get me close to it without being countered, and once i'm in, i should be able to lay into it for a bit before it throws me back. Kel, i need you to use your stroke of midnight to keep me and stratos in MP. I'm going to be using a lot of it, and i'd imagine he is too. But, that means you'll need to be attacking it as well to regain your own mp, so we'll try to time our strikes and get us both in. Stratos, i need support from you. use those items when you think its needed, and provide healing. I won't last long without that. Although don't use aero. If this behemoth is a magic user, it won't be much help. Save your MP for other things. Karina, you're debatably the most important of the four of us. As i attack it, if my hunch is right, there should be times when parts of its body are vulnerable. When that happens, you move in, you strike it, and you get out. They won't stay down for long, but there should be enough of an openeing to attack. If we intend to pull this off, we've got to work together. If each of us sticks to our job, we should be able to....No, we WILL bring it down. Now, regroup!" Beuce called to the other wielders. He honestly believed they could defeat Spectrum. Not only because of the strategy he'd just given, but because of the people he had to carry it out. Some people go down in history for their intelligence, or strength of body, but some have more than that. They have strength of heart. He could tell each of them were one of those people. Everyone knew their place in the fight, and he was sure they'd stick to it. He was exhausted and injured, but he didn't have the worst of it. he could still fight without collapsing. Preparing his keyblade, cherry blossoms filled the air as he vanished and appeared once more next to Spectrum, leaving a gash in the earth leg. The behemoth was ready for him. It swung a flaming arm at him. Beuce flipped into the air to avoid it. 'Water beats fire' From the tip of his keyblade, an intense jet of water fired out with intense force, dousing the demonic arm. Steam filled the air as the flames temporarily came to a still, dying down. He landed on the arm from his flip momentarily, and avoided burns because of it. He was thrown back into the air as a spinning kick from the ice leg came at him, glimmering with ice magic. 'Fire beats Ice.' He spun, throwing a trio of Firas at the leg, each exploding and blowing it back. Ordinarily, this wouldn't have been quite enough, but out of the four of them, Beuce had by far the strongest magic. The ice leg began to drip and melt, losing stability. However, that too was only temporary. The third attack was a downward fist from the water arm. 'Water loses to...Thunder..." He knew his winning streak ended there. He had no thunder magic at his disposal to stop the attack. With the force of what felt like a truck, the liquid arm crashed into the white haired keyblade wielder, pinning him to the ground. The weight of the water crushed down on him, preventing movement on a large scale. Air was lost to him, and if he didn't do something quickly, he'd drown. In an act of desperation, he raised his right palm, struggling to do so, and slammed it onto the ground. Eight circular lights appeared in a circle around him on the ground. They only lasted a second, as they detected contact with enemies. The mines immediately exploded all at once, creating a massive boom that blew apart the water arm and caused it to rain on the north side momentarily. Since Mine Square was an Earth command, rather than thunder, the water arm reformed in seconds, instead of becoming vulnerable. Still choking for air, Beuce was in no position to avoid the rocky leg that swung at his body, kicking him with incredible force. If that weren't bad enough, it didn't just send him flying horizontally as it should have. The second it made contact, Beuce vanished in what seemed like a brown portal, only to reappear near the roof. Which given all the things that have happened in this library, was pretty freaking high. Halfway down, he performed an act of desperation to save his life from the certainly fatal impact on the ground. He mustered up the last of his MP and cast stop on himself, freezing him in midair. He could only hope someone would understand the idea and go to catch him. Beuce can now be controlled by the north side for teamwork purposes 1080 words 1010 exp Spoiler: North end Spectrum the Elemoth: 280/600
Originally, the plan was that he and Kel would be handling the dark skinned gunner behemoth while Karina and Stratos. However, it didn't seem to be working out that way. These two behemoths were cooperating and working together. So far, Karina and Stratos had been getting by with a whole "Hit and run" strategy. Ordinarily, that would work. However, it doesn't when there are two of them. Then, that plan ends up backfiring and getting them separated. They were doing a great job of supporting each other, more than he ever would have done were he in either of their place, but that would only get them so far. If the two behemoths were smart enough to watch the other's back, then the keyblade wielders were in a bad position. Sure enough, that's exactly what they did. Karina had an aero spell cast around her to protect her, but she was still taking quite the beating. She had used her cure spell on Stratos, but the two were laying into her. Shots were breaking through the wind barrier, even causing her to let out a cry of pain. She was getting torn up in that fight. He had to do something. As a spectral hook flew toward Karina from the wardmoth, Beuce sprung into action. Cherry blossoms crackling with the red energy of his soldier aura fell from nowhere as Beuce vanished from sight. Appearing in just the nick of time, he extended his hand and caught the hook. "Karina, I've got a deal for you." He began, speaking to her while staring down the behemoths. "Make it through this fight. Stay alive, until the very end and beyond it, and I'll tell you what i meant when i said we were the same." Beuce finished. As he did, he groaned with effort as he gave a mighty heave, tugging on the chain of the wardmoth. Unable to withstand the power of a Soldier's strength, the behemoth was flung toward them. It threw out the lantern toward Lucda, who was intent on grabbing it and coming to Thrisle's aid. However, it never reached its intended place. Beuce was fast enough that he could intercept the lantern, stopping it mid flight. With a push downward, Beuce crushed the lantern under heel, turning it to dust. Thrisle had a shocked look on his ghostly face. However, it didn't last long. The behemoth wouldn't be around to keep it up. Beuce leaped into the air and brought his blade down into the creature's chest. For a moment, it seemed that was all he did, but that thought was soon perished. The behemoth's body began to break as cracks spilling out red energy burst forth. a brave shot from within the monster's own body was the end of its life, as it faded away into darkness. This had definitely succeeded in drawing the attention of the purimoth, as an intense fast paced spree of shots began flying at Beuce. Without thinking, light enveloped him and faded away, taking with it his soldier form. Immediately waving his keyblade, a slow spell was cast over the behemoth, dampening its speed. Rolling and strafing between the now hindered shots, he made his way to the heartless. Finally, he reached it and leaped into the air, striking the horn with an ice covered blade via vorpal blitz. As he was in the air, he rolled down onto the behemoth's back, giving himself a strategically advantageous position. "Stratos! Go make sure Karina is alright! I'll keep it busy while you do!" He yelled out before firing off an offensive spell at the horn. 604 words 980 exp Spoiler: North Side Behemoth: 3 Red Nocturnes: CLEAR Blue Rhapsody: CLEAR Yellow Opera: CLEAR Green Requiem: CLEAR Shadow: CLEAR Soldier: CLEAR Large body: CLEAR Trick ghost: CLEAR Book master: CLEAR Surveillance robots: CLEAR Injuries: Lucda the Purimoth: 118/300
Beuce watched as Karina began to panic, asking over and over why he would save her. Well, Beuce knew the answer right away. He looked over to see an enraged Stratos laying into Azima. With Zantetsuken, he had managed to breach the wall of soldiers and destroy the sand behemoth, who faded into darkness as all other behemoths did. Stratos looked like he was worse for the wear from that fight, He had to be slowing down. Yet, he cast a cure spell on Karina and he. "Heh. We're all gonna get ourselves killed protecting each other..." He said under his breath as he stumbled to his feet. With the cure spell, at least he was in a condition where his injuries weren't screaming at him to lay down on the floor and stop trying. He got up, and that was what mattered. Walking over to where the fight was going on as best he could, he listened to Stratos' story. Honestly he felt sorry for the poor kid. For him, the keyblade had been a blessing. His invitation to the lime light, but for Stratos, he can only imagine what a curse it must have been. "You want to know why i saved you?" He said, reaching Karina's location. "Why you? You think your life isn't worth anything, so why did i risk my own to stop you from losing it? Well the answer to that is pretty simple." He said, summoning his keyblade to him once more. "Because we're the same. I can see it in your eyes." He told her in a sincere voice. A look in her eyes had caused him to take the blast of arcane energy for him. However, if she wanted him to elaborate, she wouldn't get the chance to ask. Before anything else could be said, a bolt of light shot past his head. What was that? He turned to see a second behemoth, on top of Thrisle the Wardmoth, attacking them. Well, that was a first. You'd think they would have done that more often. This behemoth held in its arm hoof things two white rectangular pistols in its hands. This behemoth too was solid black, however, in a different way than the spectral one. While the spectral behemoth looked more like it was wearing a ghostly robe of some sort, this behemoth had its skin that color. It was either black or a really dark brown. A second shot was fired at him, which he dodged. "Looks like we've got company...If you two can handle the other one, i'll do what i can to take on this one. Although, it might not work out that way if they work together." Beuce cautioned. His words seemed to ring true. The battle carried on for a few moments, Beuce dodged a couple of shots as he returned them with strike raids of his own. Occasionally, he came into melee range and swiped at the behemoth a few times, but it evaded the attacks with some kind of short range dash. That was odd. As soon as he went forward to attack the gun wielding behemoth again, a lantern flew across the north side and landed next to it, granting it a shield of some kind. It didn't look very strong, but upon grabbing the light source, the dark skinned behemoth was immediately whisked away toward the first behemoth and landed firmly next to it. It gave the other a glare, as though it had some dislike for it, while the other just seemed plain sadistic. If there was bad blood between them, that would be their downfall. 606 words 950 exp Spoiler: North end Behemoths: 4/10 Red Nocturnes: CLEAR Blue Rhapsody: CLEAR Yellow Opera: CLEAR Green Requiem: CLEAR Shadow: CLEAR Soldier: CLEAR Large body: CLEAR Trick ghost: CLEAR Book master: CLEAR Surveillance robots: CLEAR Injuries: Thrisle the Wardmoth: 222/300 Lucda the Purimoth: 258/300
R looked down at the girl clinging to his waist and resting her head against his chest. It was simply enough to tell that she was given comfort by having him close. It didn't surprise him. He had been the one to give her meaning when she had nothing. When she was lost in the darkness, he showed her the way through it. Through it, he'd grown fond of the girl. Odd, how a heartless can comprehend such things. Perhaps it was because worlds functioned under different rules, or perhaps it was because the heart is what resided inside him. Who could say? R raised his hand and rested it on her deep red hair, while returning the hug with his other arm. "I'm glad to see that you are unharmed as well." He said to the fragile girl. Nearly everyone had finished their trial, and only a select few were still in theirs. A great many had been able to pass their trials and earn a piece of the X-blade. However, all it took was one failure...
Well, Beuce for whatever reason had been in some kind of stasis. He thought what could possibly be the cause of this strange phenomenon. The first thing that came to mind was the most logical and reasonable explanation. Rienzel was too lazy to post. Was this the right answer? Much like the number of licks it takes to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop, the world may never know...Or yeah that was totally the reason. Snapping out of his coma-like state, he turned to see what had to be his favorite Behemoth so far. It seemed to be some kind of combination between a bunch of ascended animal people and one lightning rock thing and it was totally badass. This strategy had worked so far, so he'd try it one more time. Racing forward, light cloaked his body, creating a protective hexagonal barrier around him and allowing him to shoulder charge into the Xermoth. However, things didn't go as he had planned. The behemoth let out an emperorly roar, and from the ground, sand spiraled upward and formed a wall of mini behemoths, each holding a shield. As Beuce crashed into them, they didn't budge, but instead simply threw him back, protecting their master. From behind the barrier of sand behemoths, Azima let out another roar, summoning up the sand around him and transforming him into a higher form. It grew larger and more threatening. It gained a purple glow around it as the sands spiraled furiously around it, battering and wearing down anything that was unfortunate enough to be caught in their path. Wow. Beuce wasn't even mad at this point, that was just cool. Marching onward, it passed through the wall of servants which disintegrated back into the sand from whence they cam upon their leader's passing. Blasts of arcane energy rained from the sky around Azima at Beuce as it marched toward him. Its tusks began to glow with an otherworldly power shortly before they plowed into Beuce's torso, sending him flying. The wind was knocked out of his lungs from the sheer force behind the hit, and he ended up plowing into Karina, knocking both of them over. He'd expected the behemoth's attack to hurt, but not nearly that much. There was something about that glow that just increased their damage by absurd amounts. Maybe this wasn't the first fight that the behemoth had been in, and he'd been farming his Q on all kinds of things over the course of years! My god... He was gasping for air, as all the oxygen had since left his lungs. After struggling to find his breath, he managed a few words through his panting "Sorry about that..." He said as he helped Karina back to her feet. "That thing kinda caught me off guard. It- Look out!" Beuce yelled as he tackled her to the ground. Where they had been just a moment ago, a mass of highly concentrated arcane energy crashed to the ground, creating a large explosion. Azima now hummed with pure magic magical energy, and he seemingly rooted himself to the ground to do so. Another shot was fired at their location, he grabbed Karina and rolled out of it, just barely escaping. The third shot however, wasn't going to be so easily evaded. In an act of desperation, he stood and spread his arms. The burst of energy crashed into him with intense force, causing him to cry out from the pain. Karina, however, had been spared from the hit. So, the purpose of taking the hit had been fulfilled. He dropped to one knee, obviously worn down from the damage he'd taken. Healing magic would keep him going for the moment, but the damage he'd taken was serious. 630 words 920 Exp Spoiler: North Side Behemoths: 5/10 Red Nocturnes: CLEAR Blue Rhapsody: CLEAR Yellow Opera: CLEAR Green Requiem: CLEAR Shadow: CLEAR Soldier: CLEAR Large body: CLEAR Trick ghost: CLEAR Book master: CLEAR Surveillance robots: CLEAR Injuries: Azima the Xermoth: 34/300

With the tendrils of white darkness flying toward him at high speed, R had little time to react. Covering his left arm in the armor of Black Adamant, He raised the shield against the oncoming attack not a moment too soon. They crashed against the shield, pushing him back along the ground. Dust would have been kicked up were it not for the surface he stood upon. For the moment, he had managed to successfully defend against the onslaught delivered by his own nobody. However, he knew it was far from over. The way I fought was to pursue his opponent with unwavering relentlessness, not giving them a moment to breathe let alone think about a counterattack. The only way one would defeat I would be to find a way to overcome the white darkness without a need to think of it. R had done so once before, but that was through the use of black sun, his world destroyer. The version he had used against Xindai hadn't been at full power. If it had been, neither Xindai nor his allies would have survived it. However, this wasn't the only reason it wasn't at its maximum potential. More so than anything was that it wasn't available to him at the time. The tie between him and his nobody was an unorthodox one. They were two halves of a whole. However, where most simply fit into place with their other to make the full thing, these two were mirror images of perfect symmetry. Their contrast was so vast that they were exactly alike. Being that worlds operated under different rules than humans, their hearts were different. The heartless and the nobody contained a part of the vast power the world held within it. When the two parts are together, that power resonates from the other, increasing its own. Given the amount of time I had been dead, R's power had waned significantly since the time he had fought him. R had destroyed the entire world that the battle took place on, and the sheer energy it gave off scorched several others, even shattering the wall that divided them. It was only due to a timely intervention by Xero that he had survived the destruction. As the ability had drained him of all his power, she risked herself to pull him from the destruction through a corridor of darkness to safety. The nobody gave no pause in the fight, and relentlessly gave chase after the heartless of the two. His forearms now having large curving blades emerging from them, he swiped at R several times, but R managed to evade to the side and counter with a dark firaza. It seemed I was caught off guard by the attack, as he looked over without time to evade or counter. However, the truth was far worse for R. As the attack would have connected, it simply passed through him as his body began to blur and distort, as though it were made of pixels that began to separate and stop forming the image they were meant to. This was bad. I's control over the form of his body was so great that he didn't need it to be a single, solid object. Instead, it could be any number of immeasurably small particles, impossible to but cut, and near impossible to be predicted. The blurring wind of particles swept over the heartless, who could do little to defend against it. As a whirlwind was formed around him, sharp objects would emerge from nowhere and pierce his skin, only to vanish once more immediately into the blur. If he couldn't figure out a way to counteract this, he would be doomed. If he couldn't cut them, the only way would be to sweep away his entirety at the same time. Thrusting his hand into the ground, he summoned a massive amount of darkness in an unusual form. Instead of solid or ethereal, it was liquid. What seemed to be the form of a pure jet black water erupted from the ground, spiraling around R and creating a sphere which grew every second. It didn't matter if I couldn't be cut. His whole body, regardless of how small the pieces it was in, was being swept away by the dark current. Eventually, it moved away from R, yet carried the nobody with it. As he tried to reform into a whole being, the currents tore apart the particles, preventing him from leaving the form his was in. "It's finished. I have passed the trial." "Heh....So you have..." Knowing he had to finish the task before the X-blade would present itself to him, R called upon the darkness to change its form into a solid mass. It heeded his command, hardening and solidifying, trapping I within its confines. Raising his hand, he gave a quick sweep of his fingers down and the entire structure erupted into an enormous wall of solid black flames, incinerating the man trapped within it. His trial passed and completed, a shining golden shard of metal appeared before R. Reaching out, he took it and found himself back on the platform of his heart. Walking up the now solid staircase onto the central platform, he found that he wasn't the first to complete his trial. Silently, he placed his shard of the weapon into the indent, where it joined with the others. The ordeal had taken a lot out of him, and the wounds from the fight were still clearly visible, yet he paid them no mind. Backing off from the X-blade, he stayed silent for the moment, awaiting those who had yet to finish their trial to join them.
The general of the lustors ignored the comment made by Gawain about "not swinging that way." It was obvious that was not his intention, but Gawain felt the need to take a jab at him. Still, he had followed his orders and kneeled before him. He drew his sword, Styx. "Gawain Griffin. Because of your heritage you have been discriminated against and denied advancement in the ranks, as well as looked down upon by your fellow soldiers." He began, speaking to the half-lustor in front of him. "However, your bravery and and the instrumental role you played in the fight against The Warden has proven your worth more than enough. I reward the deserving and give credit where credit is due." Resting the blade of his sword on Gawain's shoulder, he moved it to the other. "I name you Sir Gawain, Knight of Mordecai. You may rise to your feet." Obviously, this surprised some of the other Lustor soldiers around the area. Gawain had never been anything more than a grunt soldier, someone expendable. No one ever expected he would be anything more, being half human and all. Orpheus' attention was quickly jerked away from Gawain as what sounded like a wave of thunder coming from the ground rang out. He looked over to where the sound had originated from. There, he saw an unexpected sight. The chieftan of the humans. He'd managed to escape the district through the blockade. Orpheus had felt that some of the undead were dying, but he hadn't thought much of it. No doubt they were able to carve their way through due to these new weapons they possessed. Even as the chief spoke and gave his terms, the group of undead that constantly followed him for protection began forming a protective circle around their master instinctively. Now, if they tried to fire at Orpheus, the undead would take the hit. Naturally if there was a large amount of shots, they wouldn't be able to defend him, but the protection was better than nothing. He didn't know how many shots could be fired before one needed to reload, but he just had to go with the assumption that they were the same as bows and could only fire a single shot. "My, this is quite the coincidence. I was just about to offer you a deal rather similar. If you return our prisoner to us, i will release three of yours. You're not in much of a position to refuse. After all, i do have seven more prisoners than you, and as we speak, an undead has a bolt from a crossbow aimed at your head. Remember, human, my soldiers are expendable. Are yours? And if you take this deal, you can even keep that mead." Orpheus proposed to the chief, attempting to make it clear he was in charge of the situation. Nickel could tell that the man before him was a broken one. He'd lost all hope, and failed to save someone he cared about. Nickel had never really had anyone like that, so he couldn't exactly sympathize with the other lustor. "You're Orpheus' lapdog huh? You said you were here to find a healer? That must be Emi. Last i heard she'd been captured. God knows how that happened, but that's what i know. It's a matter of when it happened, but if Orpheus was the one who got her, your friend might be alive. Don't get your hopes up though. If the prisoner exchange goes sour, i'll do what i can to get you out of here, but for now i gotta keep up my cover. Don't do anything stupid while i'm gone if you wanna stay alive." Nickel said before leaving the room.
The behemoth...Was a clown. A freaking clown. On a unicycle. Whoever was coming up with this kind of crap was just pulling it out of their ass now. Looking at you tom! With a sigh, Beuce went to face down the horrid monstrosity. Originally, it had been juggling balls, but instead it now switched to knives like some kind of demon jester or something. What even was this thing? Beuce ran at it to attack, but a box laying on the ground popped open, shooting little bursts of energy stuff at him and causing him to run really slowly in the opposite direction with a little fear icon above his head. That was weird...While he was evidently afraid of a jack in the box, the behemoth disappeared into a puff of smoke. Where was it. Eventually, Beuce saw a looming shadow behind him. It shoved a knife at him, hoping to impale him in the back. What the hell man, not cool. He quickly dodge rolled to the side and struck upward at the behemoth. However, it again used deceive to blink away in invisibility. My god...It had learned how to bypass the cooldown reduction cap in brawl missions. Beuce had an idea to counter this strategy. He held his sword out in front of him and began spinning. From his sword, a trail of pure golden manliness followed behind and made a full circle around him. Obviously, the behemoth had not been expecting this, as it fell backwards and was hit by the spin. Well, he managed to knock it from its unicycle, so that was an accomplishment on his part. However, now the thing was pissed off and began throwing a somehow endless supply of sharp objects at him. He managed to dodge several of them and bat others away, but a few of them got through and sliced open his skin. Evidently, defense did not come with this new power up, and he couldn't even heal injuries because he couldn't use magic. So, he'd need to rely on his allies for that sort of thing. His job was to do one thing and one thing alone, deal as much damage as he possibly could to the thing. His eyes flared up with energy as he looked at the behemoth, sizing up any weak points and prepared to exploit them through unnatural means. He had an idea of how to use his new found strength. If this worked, the behemoth would be done for. Preparing for a full frontal assault, Beuce leaped into the air at the behemoth. Charging up his fist with the same energy that was used in brave shot and cross slash, he empowered it to immeasurable amounts. "DEMACIAAAAA!" He slammed his fist against the ground with such overwhelming force that the very ground beneath them gave way and spread outward and up, making a massive stone arena around the two of them. Standing up and facing the behemoth who had been damaged by the shockwave, he was surprised to see what happened. Due to a bug with the programming of reality or something, the behemoth just up and walked through the arena like it wasn't even there. And after that amazing play too! Well that was anticlimactic...Pressing the same button he used to activate that the first time, he deactivated the arena, causing the ground to go back to its normal state. Now, how exactly he pulled that one of, he had not a freaking clue. It just worked, don't question it. "Oh, uh stratos! You might have a clown behemoth coming for you!" He called out, warning his friend. 610 words 890 exp Spoiler Behemoths: 7/10 Red Nocturnes: CLEAR Blue Rhapsody: CLEAR Yellow Opera: CLEAR Green Requiem: CLEAR Shadow: CLEAR Soldier: CLEAR Large body: 13/20 Trick ghost: 18/30 Book master: CLEAR Surveillance robots: CLEAR Injuries: Trick Ghost: 2/7 Large Body: 15/17 Shac: 90/300
