View attachment 39225 i'm a genius, right?
I just found out that Batgirl is getting a new creative team in October. In other words, Gail Simone is being taken off of the book. Gail Simone. is leaving. Barbara Gordon. But if that's not enough, she's also being given a new look. Spoiler Now, I kinda like the costume. I don't love it, but I could see myself coming to love it. My problem is that apparently Barbara is aging backwards and is now 13. And it doesn't even look like Barbara. I'm not so much upset by who's replacing the old team as I am that the old team is leaving. But I guess all good things must come to an end. I looked up the writers who are replacing Simone and neither have done anything truly noteworthy from what I saw. And both are guys. I don't have a problem with that on a surface level, but Simone has a reputation for being one of the best writers for female characters (and since Barbara is her favorite character it's some kinda magic) and replacing her with relative no-names who are male, when this often spells disaster for female characters in comics, is frightening for someone like me who collects Batgirl and who is more and more coming to the realization that Barbara is one of my personal favorite characters in anything. im scared hold me and what the fuck is this going on MTV add insult to injury

There's not already an Arrow thread? Season 3 approaches. Who's excited? I am. After a somewhat... disappointing conclusion to the second season, I anxiously await the third to see what it has in store. After season 2, there's not many threads that need be addressed, only the League of Assassins, something that has all but been confirmed to be the focus of this season, and Laurel and her bs come to mind. This season needs to be good if this show wants to be remembered as the outstanding show that it once was and can be. The first part of season 2 was great, the last.. not so much. Season 1 was, on the whole, good, though it had it's moments that were less than good. It needs to redeem itself after the mess that was the last quarter of season 2, and I know it's capable of doing so. The writers need to be less ambitious and not worry about pushing the envelope, and focus instead on making sure this season is solid. Really solid. Oh, and this is a thing. http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=53892
spacey has a really nice voice and a great one for bad guys i mean ive never heard such an intimidating grasshopper before in my life
As the title suggests, there's very little (read: nothing) set in stone at this point, but we needed a place to discuss and plan seriously for this thing and a social group allows for this and more. In the original thread, we were discussing what rules or regulations we would like to implement, so, continuing that discussion here, what regulations do people want? Hayabusa suggested we follow these. I agreed, but also suggested that we exclude the Uber tier. Yes, no? Anything you would like to add? For those not familiar, the Pokemon metagame, according to Smogon (not all players follow Smogon's clauses), is broken up into tiers which attempt to give an equal playing field for all Pokemon. Pokemon in a lower tier can compete above them, though those in a higher tier cannot compete in a tier below them. Uber is the highest tier, and is basically made up of insanely over-powered Pokemon. You can look at Smogon's Uber list here, and I would also recommend looking at the other tiers as well. We don't have to adopt all of Smogon's rules, in fact I would rather we not, but they do succeed at defining what is over-powered and what is not, and I think for the sake of diversity and keeping this a casual, friendly competition, it's best we leave out the highest tier. Do you agree? Do you agree with the rules Hayabusa and I suggested? Anything else you would like to add? We also need to discuss the finer details of organizing and coordinating a tournament. discuss, discuss, discuss

me some anime movies. Okay so there are some guidelines It must be a movie. Not something like Naruto movie 12 or whatever ****. I'm talking standalone movies or movies that don't tie into a larger franchise, but that doesn't exclude movies that created a franchise or were adapted from a manga. If you're not sure, go ahead and list them anyway. Nothing Miyazaki or Ghibli. I'm looking for slightly more obscure stuff. Nothing Makoto Shinkai. i want it to be at least kinda good.. I've seen these: Akira 5 Centimeters per Second Children who Chase Lost Voices Grave of the Fireflies The Garden of Words Metropolis Redline Tsumiki no Ie things I already plan to watch. maybe. eventually. Ghost in the Shell Summer Wars Jin-Roh Wolf Children Paprika Tokyo Godfathers Colorful (I got halfway through this and didn't like it but I'll give it another chance)
lay off the weed will ya
or people conscious of the quality of the things they buy, how much do you care about the quality of the box or cover of whatever it is you're buying? I care a lot, maybe too much, and I'm curious if anyone else does to the extent that i do. Because when I'm in the store buying something, I'm standing there in the aisle fondling the stores entire stock of whatever just to see which one is the best, and I've never seen anyone else do this. Am I insane or is this a thing other people do? and this kind of only applies to things like comics, books, movies, games, and music, where the box is part of what you buy. not a figure or something where the box goes into a closet or trash.

ignoring the thread that's been dead since '09 So anyone like Slipknot? They're one of those bands that I've known existed for a long time, but only recently started listening and paying attention to. These past few days they're all I've been listening to. Opium of the People has been on repeat for a couple days, and last night I discovered The Shape, which is almost just as good. (sic) was the song that grabbed me. Aside from Welcome it was the first song I listened to that wasn't a single, and I felt compelled to listen to all of their stuff. I think my favorite album of theirs is Vol. 3. Not because it was the album that introduced me to them all those years ago and has the two singles that I first heard, but because of how diverse (Circle, Vermilion) and, at times, experimental/unusual it is(The Virus of Life, Danger), and they're all phenomenal. I'm hard-pressed to say which from the album is my favorite. I want to like All Hope Is Gone more than I do. Gematria is great, but other than that none of the songs stand out. Psychosocial is okay, but just okay.

this beautiful thing. View attachment 38760 this breathtaking thing. and Redline. and I also bought Pokemon Y. so yeah. I've been waiting for it to arrive for the past few days and it has been an agonizing wait. I'm so excited. I've never had a physical Pokemon game. It's always been roms before. Though I'm a little worried because Pokemon is one of those things that when I start playing a lot absolutely consumes my life, and having only used roms before it's going to be much different. I can't cheat my way through.dang. Going to have to learn how to actually play for real.
