As per tradition, I always choose the fire pokemon on my first playthrough of a pokemon game. So far I've just beat the first gym. After this short bit of gameplay I must ask. Did they put the games on easy mode? No poison outside battle, tms can be used more than once, heck I was even given a free grass pokemon just because I chose a fire starter. Besides those however I am finding the game more engaging then Platinum so far. As I only have one pokemon, not counting the rat pokemon I caught to be an hm slave, what pokemon should I be looking out for? I went in blind in Platinum and came out with a "decent" team

Spoiler I'm ok with his death, but the way Lelouch reacted to it made no sense. During the entire show he wanted Rolo dead, and when it's finally happening he's sad about it. I must not have noticed because I'm too used to it. XD Although to tell you the truth I also recently played soul silver and if I had to replay the silver version of pokemon it would have to be that version. It just kicked me in the gut with nostalgia!
Second gen was my favorite of the series. I played the heck out of pokemon red and when I finally got my hands on silver it blew me away. Especially the part where you could visit the kanto region in that game and challenge those gym leaders. The best part was the final battle with red, still gives me goosebumps remembering the first time I saw it. I also recently started playing pokemon again and have almost completed platinum. Not a bad game, but it really did not leave an impact on me. I'll probably work on pokemon black later. My memory must be failing me, I clearly remember the second gen having color. =/
You mean there are other ways to buy games besides on discs? My mind is now blown!
