Edit: Should read "Official KHV Oscars Skype Conversation!"

Yes, I know that the Academy Awards are rigged? So, why exactly do we decide to watch it every year? Obviously to make jokes about everything that's going on. So, why don't we all just do it all as a group?

So, I decided to make a small group for KHV! Add yourself to the group name: KHV Oscars Conversation!

Or, if you're a friend with me, tell me you want to join the conversation and I'll add you (skype name: tummerrr)

I'll start the call around five minutes before it starts!

    LET'S DO THIS!

    Souce

Personally, I'm very excited about Rowling coming out with a new book. Personally, I think from Goblet of Fire to Deathly Hallows, the novels had very adult themes in them. Although, I wonder if this takes time away from Pottermore, the interactive Harry Potter site she launched in it's beta form last year. The site is still in it's beta form, only open to the few who were able to figure out the riddles back in July. It's been held back for a number of delays, and some people are beginning to think that the site will never officially launch.

What are your thoughts on this KHV?

So, I started my Journalism class today, thinking that it would teach me how to write articles and such.
    Five minutes in.
teacher: "As some of you may know, this is the class that handles the school newspaper. You will all be writing for the paper as well as the website, and we will have four papers published by the end of the semester."

    No prerequisite required.
So, KHV, I am now a newspaper writer.

    My dare

Okay, so I was dared two days ago to sing a Christina Agulara song. Originally, I was going to puss out and sing "The Micky Mouse Club Theme" since she was on that show a long time ago. But then I decided to be a man, suck it up, and sing Beautiful. Now, there is no way in hell I'm singing pop songs with everyone at home, so I waited to be home alone. And, I don't really listen to Christina Agulara, so I had the original track play in the background.

This whole thing happened some time last week where comedian and host of The Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert, noticed a news story mentioning him getting five percent in an upcoming GOP primary. The catch is that he never formally announced that he would run for President, especially after he already tried to get the Democratic nomination back in 2008. These were all write-in votes, just speculative. So, on 1/12/2012, he announced that he was going to run an exploratory committee of whether to run as the Republican candidate of the President of the United States of South Carolina. He even transferred over his super PAC (Stephen Colbert Super PAC: Republicans For A Better Tomorrow, Tomorrow) over to The Daily Show host Jon Stewart since even potential presidential nominees cannot have their own super PACs (the name being changed to The Definitely Not Coordinating with Stephen Colbert Super PAC: Republicans For A Better Tomorrow, Tomorrow).

For the past week, it has been good late night television with these two Comedy Central shows. They have alternatively made appearances on each others programs, mostly to poke fun at the loopholes that have to do with super PACs and not being allowed to coordinate with any of the nominees. They did catch a snag when news stations stated that Colbert could not run in South Carolina since he wasn't officially on the ballot and there couldn't be any write in candidates for this primary.

However, there is a loophole that they exposed. For some reason or another, ex-candidate Herman Cain's name is still on the ballot for the primary (even though he decided not to run back in December). With that, Colbert announced that voting for Cain on the ballot is a vote for Colbert, and the super PAC run by Stewart came out with a political ad saying the same thing. This Friday, Colbert held a rally for the Cain/Colbert vote at a college. He even got Herman Cain to attend.

the funny part is that Colbert's rally had a higher attendance than the rallies held for the "real" nominees. There has even been a few people who have said that they would seriously vote for Colbert, with Stewart along on his ticket. His percentage of votes have slowly increased over the past week. Governor Rick Perry has stepped out of the race earlier this week, receiving the least amount of votes in the previous primaries. Newt Gingrich's ex-wife came out on an interview saying that her husband wanted to have an open marriage while she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which probably wrote ride well with his conservative audience. Mitt Romney's only flaw in the conservative view is that he's a Mormon, a branch of Christianity most Christians see as a "cult" (although I personally see nothing wrong with it).

With not many nominees left in the GOP, does Colbert have a fighting chance to become more than just the President of the United States of South Carolina? Or is this simply going to be a repeat of 2008 with the Democratic party? One thing's for sure though: this is going to make for some great television (and possibly score The Daily Show another Emmy).

You can watch the series for free at Crunchyroll.

I had just gotten through the first three episodes, all of them having moments of making me want to cry. This is really one of those shows that not only tugs at your heart strings, but tears them straight out of you and plays cat's cradle with them. Even though I had only seen a bit of the series thus far, it has far more depth than many animes that I've seen the full way through. The pastel art style and choice in music and performances makes it feel like an independent film, almost like Little Miss Sunshine. I can't wait to continue watching the series and probably cry like a little baby. From the first episode alone, I was starting to have faith in humanity again.

Currently there is no company who has said anything about licensing for an English dub (although the manga are available in English from Yen Press). I really hope this does get picked up soon though; I want to know how they decide to do this.

On another note, there is also a live action movie based off of the manga staring Kenichi Matsuyama (who also played L in the Death Note live action films). It came out on August 20, 2011, my birthday!
    Thoughts?
