Roxas took in a breath and felt himself grow a little nervous. When was the last time he and Namine did something like this? And when was the last time he actually felt this way? Namine always looked beautiful, but tonight... She looked amazing. He tore his eyes away from Namine when he saw Kairi come around the corner and stop in the doorway. He glanced at Namine and smiled as he stood, moving his gaze back to the redhead. "Thanks for your help, Kairi. I can take it from here," he said, nodding toward her once in appreciation. Kairi nodded in return, smiling softly. "No problem," she said, glancing at Namine. She smiled at her best friend before moving past her and through the room to reach the back door and grab her shoes.

Roxas played for a little longer and then brought the song to a clean end. His hands stayed on the keys for a moment, and then he lifted them, at the same time lifting his gaze. His eyes fell on Namine across the room and he was stunned into silence, his blue orbs lingering on her. She looked beautiful.

Kairi followed Namine after grabbing her coat, draping it over her arm and leaving the bedroom. Roxas continued playing the song without any interruptions, but he could sense a presence. It was gentle and he smiled to himself as he pressed notes. He was almost done.
Ah well. Worked out in our favor. :3
Kairi watched Namine, and once she opened the door the music was louder. She stayed where she was, in the middle of Namine's room, as her friend was about to discover what was waiting for her. Or who, actually. Roxas's fingers moved along the piano skillfully, ending the first chorus of the song and moving on. He couldn't wait until she realized what was going on. He knew she wasn't fond of many surprises, but he hoped that this, like the last few, was going to be an exception.
I did, didn't I? xDD Yay.
Kairi linked her hands behind her back and controlled her smile enough to make it kind. "You should go check it out," she said softly, looking toward the door briefly before moving her gaze back to Namine. As the music continued to play, the redhead found it very soothing and lovely, something only fitting for tonight. Roxas had come up with a brilliant idea, and she was sure Namine was going to love it.
I don't remember how I found it, but I'm happy I did. =)
Kairi looked toward the door, able to hear Roxas's piano playing. She smiled to herself, biting her lip to keep it from growing. She looked back at Namine, a hint of happiness in her eyes. Her friends were going to have an amazing evening, and she was glad that Roxas was so kind and sweet to come up with it. Roxas continued to play the song, cueing Kairi and letting her know that everything was set and ready. Namine... She was surely going to look beautiful. He hadn't seen her all day, and when Kairi volunteered to help her get ready, he had no doubt that she would look even more terrific than usual. His hands moved along the keys as he focused, the small smile that had come across his face disappearing as he played the notes of the familiar tune.

Kairi smiled, nodding at her friend's words and in satisfaction. Now once Roxas was ready, so was Namine. This was going to be great, she could feel it. Roxas reached the piano and sat down. His eyes fell on the keys as he took a deep breath, preparing to play the song he had performed for Namine not long ago. He lifted his hands above the correct piano keys and then began to play the beginning notes of the song, the living room and surely the rest of the home being filled with the music.
Alright. Now that I'm back, let's go on with the lovely plan. :3
"But you agree that you look great, right?" Kairi said, looking at Namine from behind her, in the mirror. She really did look nice, all gussied up with her hair and makeup and the dress. Roxas was sure to love it. Speaking of, he should be done with everything by now. It had been about twenty or twenty-five minutes since she last talked to him. Roxas lit the candles on the dining room table and snapped the lighter shut, slipping it into his pocket. He then moved into the living room, the piano being his destination. Everything was set--the dinner was done and on their plates, Ty was ready, and so was he. All that was left to do was to cue Kairi.
It only took Kairi about ten minutes to complete Namine's look. She did her makeup first, putting on a little eyeliner, mascara, and eyeshadow. Of course, that didn't take long. So once she had finished with that, she took Namine to the bathroom so she could do her hair. She only curled the tips of Namine's hair slightly, making it look just a tiny bit dressier. Once Namine had her dress on, though, Kairi smiled at her work. The blond looked fantastic, just as she had said earlier.
