Eleanor sighed and looked to the children in front of them. She cleared her throat, obviously uncomfortable with the situation; she'd never been around a child since she had been one herself, many years ago. What am I supposed to say to them to keep them calm and make sure they aren't hurt? she thought desperately. This isn't what I was hired for; I'm supposed to be out there guarding Tristan with my life and destroying anything in the way! Not... watching babies! "You're here to help, yes?" one of the young Cylians spoke now, and Eleanor almost jumped, her mental concentration broken. She cleared her throat again and crossed her arms over her chest. "Yes," she replied uneasily. "But... me and my friend won't be staying for long; we have to protect the city as well against people that... aren't the ones who should be in charge; like... like the ones that wanted to hurt you and kept you here in the dark." She stepped toward the child who had spoken, trying to keep her voice steady. "Now," she began. "How safe can you all be here if we leave? Now that those bracelets are gone and you have control of yourselves?" The child looked around, and then back at Eleanor, as if she'd spoken another language. "We're not afraid," he answered smoothly. "And you don't have to leave us here; you of all people should understand that, even though we look young, we're just as strong as you. We can help; I'm sure that was your master's plan." Eleanor blinked, a little surprised. "Tristan is not my master," she started defensively, and then sighed. "I'm sorry, I guess I just assumed you'd want to stay in here safe since many will die once that army reaches us." The boy nodded, as if he already understood everything and she was being redundant; he had a look of strained patience in his eyes. "We will do what we want to make sure we all live." Eleanor looked over her shoulder, not knowing how to reply. She saw that Lanan still hadn't joined her, and walked over to him. "What's the matter?" she asked. "I can't handle all those... kids in there by myself."
OOC: yesh you are :D our lil' jeffreypoo certainly is taking his time lol i think he's on... "vacation" haha
OOC: pezz, youre so cute when you write all sexy like that XD rawr!! BIC: Eleanor turned to Lanan, finally containing her frustration. "Shall we go make sure those kids are safe, then?" she suggested. "Then we can get back to Tristan and make sure he doesn't do something rash... like getting himself killed on my watch."
"But-" Eleanor started, and put up a hand... but Tristan was already gone. "God damn it!" she swore, turning and pounding her fist on the nearest wall, the pain throbbing up her arm and into her shoulder. It felt good to her, almost comforting in her frustration. "I'm not supposed to let him go off on his own," she growled under her breath, her jaw clenched and shaking. "Damn it!"
