I see what you're getting at and I have nothing more to argue against it, but it seems you're using the term "quick time event" to refer to anything involving timing prompted inputs correctly, which is a bit more broad than how I use it. Weren't the flashbacks mostly toward the end, though? I haven't played it in a few months, but I'm positive there weren't any until a few chapters before everything is actually revealed.
I've been playing The Walking Feels and it's not totally based on QTEs like Heavy Rain is. It's a point and click game with some QTEs at certain key points. You may as well say that Kingdom Hearts 2 is totally based around quick time events because it has reaction commands. So is it bad that I thought Madison was the killer for most of the game? Yes, but it's a fact that they're my opinions. And besides that, stating opinions as facts is a good way to show one's confidence in them. Adding, "I believe," or, "In my opinion," to the beginning makes for a weaker statement.
I was just stating facts that are contrary to what you wrote. Utada Hikaru did indeed quit. All the Bravest was made by a different team than the one which is working on KH3. The Osaka team does great work and has made excellent decisions in the past. Kojima has actually been trying to kill the Metal Gear series. Heavy Rain is the best QTE based game that I've ever played. KH3 should be the last game in the series. What about that indicates a lack of seriousness? Or are you simply failing to get across a tone of sarcasm?
Really? I thought All The Bravest was made by a completely different team than the one in Osaka who's currently working on KH3. I trust the Osaka team to make good decisions. To be honest, they're the only dev team at Square that I trust right now. But Heavy Rain has no battles, wasn't developed by Square, and is pretty damn good. The QTEs and how failing many of them has story related consequences is pretty obviously the entire point of the game. The difference is that Kojima has been actively trying to make all the Metal Gear games since MGS2 fail miserably so he won't have to keep making new ones. Figure out for yourself how well that worked out. It's a classic Springtime for Hitler situation. She confirmed that she wouldn't be doing anything new for Kingdom Hearts years ago. She quit because Disney wasn't paying her enough and she hated having to rewrite her songs in English. I'd be okay with this. KH3 will be the end of the Xehanort Saga anyway, so it may as well be the last game in the series
I would be actually okay with this. It worked for the Walking Feels, after all, and making it episodic would allow them to keep the price down on the base game. The one passable Marvel thing might be their comic book version of Treasure Island, but there's no guarantee that it'll be out by the time KH3 is done and Disney already has Treasure Planet anyway.
