It's not good to just... not sleep. I also had insomnia problems at one point... I'm still recovering from it but there was a point where I started researching the effects of not sleeping for a character I was roleplaying, because simply refused to sleep after a certain point. Now, the problem is that in most cases, you cannot just simply decide "oh I'm just not going to sleep for 3 days" there usually has to be some kind of condition that builds up to that. But it is possible to just... ignore falling asleep. I've done it multiple times actually... you continue to feel tired unless you get a sudden burst of energy (which tends to happen less and less the longer you are awake) But really, don't... it isn't good for your brain to not sleep and it takes a hell of a long time to recover from staying awake for too long. It does damage to your body after all.
