And meh, it'd be very hard to achieve any kind of space travel outside our solar system. I'd assume/expect we won't be able to do so until a good 10 or so years of technological advancement set in.

Don't jump right into listening to Japanese. It's still very confusing from the accent (since we're not used to it) and they say some things way different from what you might think.

Which is why I'd go with Soushi's advice and try some online stuff first. lol

I taught myself Japanese at two different time periods. Actually three.

Last summer my mom took a college course and bought two text books for it (which she dropped, then she gave me the text books). I used those to get a general feel of it, memorized all the hiragana and katakana. Then basically from that learned very, VERY basic conversation (such as, "Hi. How are you?" "Oh, I'm fine." "Is anything wrong?" "I am sick.").

Then last school year I took a course in my history class and learned from a Japanese teacher how to say things properly (helped a lot).

Which really helped for KH2FM. lol

Yeah. Don't feel that it's an obligation to have perfect spelling and grammar like shadowjak.
