Kairi turned around to face her best friend, a small smile on her lips already. "Remember that white sundress you used to wear?" she asked, remembering the first time she had met Namine in the Castle That Never Was. "I was thinking that maybe you could find other ones too, you know?" She shrugged slightly, her eyes briefly looking toward the area of sundresses before finding her best friend again.

Kairi led the way, stepping into the store ahead of Namine. She had been here a few times before, and instantly saw the area full of sundresses farther in the store. She had to convince Namine to get one for her special night, which she still had no idea about. Of course, Kairi wasn't going to let it slip; she wouldn't do that and ruin Roxas's sweet surprise for his girlfriend. Namine deserved the lovely moment, and Kairi wasn't going to take it away from her with a slip of the tongue.

One month later... Kairi walked beside Namine on the streets of the city, her coat hugging her figure and blocking out most of the chill from the weather. She had gotten a hold of Roxas a few days after the little incident in the alley, and he was with Namine when she called, so she had asked them how they were doing. When she heard the story, she was shocked, but she was just relieved her friends were alright. Ever since then, she had tried to be by her friends' sides every day, as long as Nathan didn't demand attention from her as well. Yesterday, though, Roxas called her and had an idea. Of course she had agreed to it immediately, instantly recognizing how sweet and loving of a plan it was. It led both her and Namine to where they were now, approaching a clothing store in the shopping district of NYC.

Roxas put a hand on Namine's headboard to steady himself as he leaned down, kissing Namine gently on the forehead. He pulled back after a second, looking down at her before walking over to the bean bag in one corner of her room. He silently sat down in it, his eyes trained on the bed, where the love of his life would soon fall asleep.

Roxas pulled the covers back up and tucked them around Namine. When he was done, he looked down at her with a small smile. "Get some sleep. I'll be right here when you wake up," he whispered gently. He wouldn't break that promise to her; she wanted him there, and he was going to stay.

Roxas slowed as they approached the bed, and brought his arm away from Namine's waist. He pulled Namine's covers back and then gently guided her to sit on the mattress.

Roxas kept his arm around Namine's waist, walking with her until they reached her door. He guided her inside, the moonlight through the window providing enough illumination for him to see her bed. He started toward it, directing Namine in silence.
