Kairi put her hands on her hips and tilted her head to the side. "Come on, Namine. You know I'm not that crazy with makeup," she said with a small smile. For a minute she thought about Selphie, and how she would say the same thing to the brunette. She guessed she was acting a little like her, but it couldn't be helped; Kairi was excited for Namine, who still didn't know her true motives with this makeover.

Kairi blinked, focusing her attention on the conversation at hand. She shrugged. "I dunno," she said. "I guess I'm just feeling creative." Her eyes darted to the clothing still in Namine's hand. "Oh, and then you can see how you look with the dress on! With your hair and makeup done, I'm sure you'd look great!"

Kairi nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah. When was the last time we just did each other's hair and makeup for fun?" Her smile softened as she realized how long it had been. Things weren't like they used to be. Not anymore. Not since Roxas and... Kairi forced the thought of--that thought out of her mind. She told herself she wasn't going to think about it anymore.

"I will," Kairi said, looking up from her sock-covered feet. She noticed that Namine had a hold of the dress, and she bit her lip. Think of something, Kairi, she ordered herself. "Hey, you know what would be fun? A makeover!" She grinned, feeling giddy. That wasn't an act; she really hadn't helped anyone dress up for anything in a long time. It would be fun for her to help Namine get ready.

"I'm sure it's at home, if not here," Kairi said. "I didn't leave my house yesterday, and I don't have it today, so it's probably in my room..." She trailed off, as if thinking about it, but she was really thinking about what she could say to Namine to get her dressed and ready for her date with Roxas.

Kairi headed for Namine's dresser once she entered the room, her coat still draped over her arm. She approached the dresser and looked over it, seeing that Namine had some jewelry and such of her own on the surface. She tilted her head to the side after a minute of "looking" for the bracelet. "Hmm. It's not here," she said softly. "Maybe I grabbed it before I went home or something. I really don't remember." Kairi turned her head to look at Namine, giggling lightly as she shrugged.
Neither had I until a little while ago. Someone on fanfiction.net told me to go there and check out the dresses and stuff. xD Pretty neat...
Kairi nodded and followed behind Namine toward her bedroom. Okay, so the excuse had worked. Now she just had to convince Namine to dress up. Roxas had about fifteen more minutes. Doing Namine's hair and makeup would take that much time, so he should be okay...

"Actually," Kairi started, thinking quickly for an excuse to follow Namine to her room. That was when she got it. "You know how I was over here the day before yesterday? I think I left my bracelet in your room, the one Nathan got for me. Can I see if it's there?" She tilted her head to the side slightly, feigning concern in her eyes. The bracelet was actually at Kairi's house, on her dresser. She'd forgotten to wear it today, but good thing she didn't.

"So, you wanna put your dress up?" Kairi asked, thinking that it was a good way to get Namine to her room. After all, Namine always did take good care of her clothes, especially dresses. She figured once they got in there, she could switch things up and convince Namine to let her dress her up. Of course, she'd say it was just for fun.
