"Hurry to forget her? Hardly." Xepphiras voice was still rather emotionless. She never did turn to Juliet as she continued to speak. "I will never forget my parents. I don't expect you to forget yours. But I will say this much, my somebody would have given anything to have someone care for her as a mother would. That is not to say she would have ever replaced my mother, no one could. You don't have to let Xero in as your mother but don't write her off as someone in your life. I understand the fact that someone close to you is the fault that your family died but you can't hate everyone... it only leads to more darkness that eventually you can't control." Xepphiras actually spoke as she knew what she was talking about for once, that was because she did. She was speaking from her own experience the only thing she really knew. "If you are still angry however take it out on someone that can't be much help. Don't hurt those who are usefully to helping the war effort. We need to beat the agents or everyone including you and your father will die. Instead take it out on someone like me. No one would miss one lonely orphan." Xepphiras finally looked over her shoulder at Juliet and waited to see what she would say.
Karina was still struggling to even stand. She put pressure on her keyblade her arms shook as she tried to get to her feet just from the pressure that it took to lift her to her feet. Her body shook but she couldn't stop now, no matter how much pain she was in. Karina looked up only to see Stratos beat to the ground by the same behemoth who had done that to her. She assumed that it was only because of her weak state that it seemed so powerful and was able to beat her to the ground so easily. It wouldn't be the first time that Karina's mind had tricked her with how strong she was. When she was tired what she imagine sometimes seemed a little to real to her. It was a little difficult for her to focus enough to differentiate when she was over tired which was indeed the case now. Karina was barely standing but if she could get to her feet and she could fight. Karina would fight until the very end and she would do her best to keep her end of the bargain with Beuce, she would live, that was if she could. Looking upon Stratos in the shape he was in Karina fully expected him to heal himself, she wouldn't blame him for doing so, after all ones own life was more important than some manic depressive hopeless girl that happened to be fighting along side him. However this was not what happened, what had happened was that he healed her, helped her get at least a little of her strength back. She was no where near as shaky as before but she wouldn't say she was strong by any means. She probably wouldn't return to her former glory until after the battle and she had time for a long rest and some good healing. Karina gave a short nod of gratitude to Stratos before pushing herself forward to attack. Karina was still huffing for breath as she tried to race forward. She had only gotten a few feet forward before the thing turned into a dragon slayer of some crap like that. I used Roar of the fire lightning dragon to send a ball of mixed elements at her. Karina narrowly dodge as she dove to the side, the heat and static made goose bumps appear up her legs where it was just above her leg, though now on the ground she was in no position to dodge the next attack, this one same idea but with wind. Karina put her hands above her head to protect her. Before it hit her a screech was heard just slightly above her as a large eagle had taken the hit for her. Karina got back to her feet soon after as Marahute flew high into the sky once again to look after them. Finally Karina would admit to needing some more help than just support, she wasn't in a good shape to be fighting. She looked over at her team mate, neither was he but she trusted him more than the others to fight at her side. Karina summoned her keyblade glider. Hoping on she flew to Stratos. "Get on!" She ordered. Once he was on she flew up to the level of the head of the behemoth. "Use any ranged commands you have. I will worry about keeping us in the air and avoiding the attacks... my muscles can't take much more physical fighting and I suck at magic, so it is up to you." Karina let out a weak laugh as she started to fly around. She had to dodge numerous balls of different elements and combinations of elements that was ridiculous, like its fire thunder spells and its light dark ones. How did that even work? They where opposites they shouldn't be able to work together in as powerful of an attack as it did. Karina was barely able to dodge the attack. Her glider shook but she was able to keep it steady enough that Stratos shouldn't fall off unless he had really bad balance. "Now!" She ordered seeing an opening. I guess you can use Karina as well for team stuff. But she isn't happy about it Words: 694 Exp: 30 Total: 2520 Spoiler: North Side List Spectrum the Elemoth 444/600
Karina had to attack again, she had to finish this behemoth off, she had to keep fighting. She kept telling herself this as she desperately tried to catch her breath after the last set of attacks. She had pushed herself far more than she should have with those attacks and now it was time to attack again. She had to. The behemoth had to die, Stratos was not strong enough to finish it and Beuce was kind of a wild card when he was able to do anything or not. He seemed to have the best timing when it came to helping her out but when it came to the rest of the fighting he didn't always do much. Karina took one last deep breath and hoped that was good enough to do her over as she stepped forward to attack once again. It was hard to will herself to move when all she wanted to do was collapse, but she was doing it. Not quick enough however. As she slowly walked towards the behemoth once again someone else stepped in, another wild card sort of fighter. Kel had come in to finish off the behemoth, this was good. Karina's legs shook, her body ached and as much as she tried she was still struggling a bit to catch her breath and breathe like a normal person would. As Karina took one step back she kind of let her legs shake and start to collapse under her. She lowered herself to the ground so she could sit once more and catch her breath. Karina kept to herself now, knowing she had been pushing herself far to hard and didn't want a lecture from anyone. They where all pushing themselves hard, especially Stratos but she didn't know if they would see her and going over the top when it came to pushing herself. After all she had almost died. She had taken far more of a beating than any normal person should be able to survive. Even with healing she was still weak and sore, and even yet she decided to push herself to keep fighting the behemoth. Stratos had told her to take a breather and instead of doing that she pushed herself to the point she couldn't breath. Why? Because she couldn't sit back and watch others fight and not be a part of it. Her reasoning was almost childlike really, it was almost funny. Her stubbornness could get her killed for real. She didn't know but either way it wasn't like her just to sit and watch. Karina was still just trying to catch her breath and let some of the pain subside when the next behemoth approached. It certainly looked interesting, but more than that it had a more powerful aura to it. This was not your everyday run of the mill behemoth, although it was hard to say any of them where. But when it came down to it they where all about the same strength and endurance, this one however... This one was different. It was far more powerful. As much as Karina wasn't ready to get back up and fight again she had no chose. She had to help bring this thing down. Using her keyblade as support Karina pushed herself to her feet and got ready for the fight ahead. With Karina's first attack she didn't have the focus to aim so she just leaped at the behemoth and swung. This tactic hit but it didn't do anything. The keyblade went right through the watery arm of the behemoth. He then shot a jet of water out at her, sending her flying and landing on her back when she hit the ground. Rusted metal creaked as the behemoth opened it's mouth and let out a laugh. The longer they fought the heartless the more sadistic they seemed to be. Karina groaned as she picked herself back up. The next thing that happened was a similar move to what she had seen before. Bright white lasers started to rain down from the sky. Karina was finding it increasingly hard in her condition to dodge them all but she dodged most and the rest where scrapes, nothing major. Closing the gap once more she attacked the behemoths head since it was actually a solid object. Ha;f way through her attacks she stopped, she couldn't move. She couldn't do anything. The behemoth lifted his fiery hand and knocked her out of the sky once again. As she hit the ground she could indeed move once again but Karina was struggling to do so. That didn't stop her from trying, she had to get back up and keep fighting. Due to her current condition however paired with the strength of this behemoth it was seeming to be impossible to pick herself back up and keep fighting. The possibility of defeating this heartless seemed bleak. Words: 818 Exp: 30 Total: 2490 Spoiler: North Side List Spectrum the Elemoth 522/600
Sitting on the ground in pain Karina couldn't help but think that this might be the end, there was no hope left. This beating she was taking wasn't because she wanted to die, it wasn't because she was having an emotional break done, it was none of that for once. This time it was just because she couldn't handle it. Simple as that. The two behemoths working together where more than the one girl could handle, and their moves where so in sync, so planned that even her team mate had a hard time preparing for it. There was no way for anyone to stop this on slaughter. Karina was in so much pain, blood leaking out of her body forming a couple small pools near her. Karina started to find it hard to focus for much longer so she rested her eyes. At this point she was just waiting for death to greet her. Anything was better than the pain she was in at the time. Relief was something that she longed for, both physical and emotional. Tears flowed from her eyes as she knelt on the ground, fist planted on the ground trying to keep her upright. As she waited for what seemed forever, nothing came but instead a familiar voice. Beuce's voice echoed through her mind and for once it came as a sense of relief instead of a sense of annoyance. He spoke of a deal, but that deal was conditional on her living, which at this point Karina was not so confident that she could do. She could feel the life slipping from her body as the blood flowed out of it. Surely she would never know what he meant, but did that matter in death? Karina wondered what it would be like when she did die. Would there at last be a sense of peace? Karina couldn't help but wonder. She looked up to Beuce before he left. All she could do was let out a faint laugh before she spoke. "No promises." She told him as she gripped her side tighter as pain shot through it once more, not from the behemoths however, it was just pain... no different than the lingering pain that littered her entire body now. Beuce had instructed Stratos to make sure she was alright, and sure enough within a matter of seconds he was by her side. The first thing the boy did was apologize for not killing the heartless fast enough. Karina simply shook her head. "It's not your fault... It's no ones fault but my own for trying to take them on myself. Don't blame yourself... boy" Karina stated as she looked into Stratos's eyes and only saw guilt. She felt bad for him, he was blaming himself for her fate, but this just seemed to be what destiny had in store for her. Not to say she hadn't escaped destiny before, but at one point or another it was bound to catch up to her and it looked like that point was today. She could feel the warmth of healing magic fill her body, but she wasn't feeling any better just the life felt like it was fading from her body less fast than before. It seemed like the only thing that the cure actually did was give her the strength to prevent her arms from collapsing and Karina completely falling to the ground. Karina could hardly think what to do now so she just stayed there until another warmth filled her. This one slightly different than the first. Karina couldn't put her finger on what about it was different but something. Looking up slightly she saw the lid to a bottle fall from Stratos's hand. He had actually used a potion on her, one of his items, something he couldn't just get back through time. Karina felt bad for making him use it, but at the same time she knew if he didn't he would fail at saving the one person he had been trying to save the entire time and as much as Karina seemed to not care for people she didn't want him to have to go through it. Somewhere deep down Karina did actually have a heart and she understood why he would go to such measures to make sure she lived. Karina got to her feet her knees shaking. She still wasn't at full health again but she couldn't keep sitting on the ground like she was. She had to do something to help. She needed to be back in the battle sooner or later and if Karina had it her way it would be sooner. That was if she could find the strength to move. Karina could think how but she then remembered how she found the strength to move after the Aux had beat them to the ground. Aux... it came back to him. Just the thought of him and having to defeat him made Karina's legs move. The fact was as long as he was around people would keep getting hurt. Innocent girls would keep getting kidnapped, and Karina would keep getting tormented by him. She knew it. But before Karina could get to him she had to get through these damn behemoths. Step by step Karina found the strength to keep moving forward. She summoned her keyblade to her side as she walked. Karina couldn't find the strength to run but she eventually closed the distance. Karina looked away from the two that had help her so much back their. She felt like she was almost throwing their kindness away by coming back to battle so soon before she was properly rested, but she couldn't sit back and not do anything and the only thing she was good at was fighting. Karina took a moment to prepare herself before she could push herself off the ground to start beating the behemoth senseless. Karina took only a single bullet before she realized she had to push through the pain and sluggishness that she was still feeling if she wanted to be useful. Her attack speed picked up and her power increased. She would land from one set of attacks, dodge a couple bullets and be right back in it for another set. This could only last so long however. It was only a short amount of time before Karina couldn't do anymore, she was tired and needed a slight break, but at least she could be of some help between breaks. Karina was running in circles away from the behemoth only every now and then turning around to hit the Behemoth. If she was to solo it and keep it away from Stratos she more needed to take her time to get the health down and focus on not getting herself hurt. Or at least that was the theory that she had in mind. The behemoth was strong and if she challenged it to a fight to see who died first, she would most definitely lose that one. After all this wasn't the first behemoth or heartless she fought this battle. There had to at least been a few hundred heartless before it, building up her exhaustion and injuries. Cure magic could only do so much, a rest could do a whole lot more than that. She wished more than anything that her aching muscles could have a rest, but she knew that wasn't going to happen. She knew that she had to keep fighting and protect those who had been protecting her this entire time. Not only Stratos and Beuce, but people like Hikaru who had supported her in battles in the past. She would not be there if it wasn't for them and she owed them everything. She had to keep going, keep fighting, and keep running before the behemoth caught up to her because of internal monologue. Damn heartless and their need to interrupt it. A lantern had almost hit Karina and dragged her back towards the behemoth, but lucky for her she narrowly avoided it out of nothing more than sheer luck. As Karina continued to run for her life a gust of wind surrounded her once more, this time she had no time to look epic while the spell was cast on her. Karina shook her head knowing where it was coming from. Damn kid didn't know when it was time to take a break and step back. He needed it, not to say she didn't but at least she could keep her balance right now. It he wasn't going to stop Karina would at least help him keep going. Quickly dodging away from another lantern then blocking some shots fired at her from the other behemoth Karina pointed her keyblade at Stratos and cast the oh so famous green magic, cure, on him. With that done she continued running and dodging the shots of now two behemoths. Of course now they decided to work together. That was just great. She was screwed now. It was hard enough keeping away and attacking one behemoth and now she had to deal with two. This battle was starting to look more and more likely that it would be the end of her. That was until Stratos stepped in and took the aggro for her. As much as Karina knew he could use a break and not deal with this, she was more than grateful for his help. She needed the breather, well sort of. She was still dodging one behemoth but at least it was better than two. Now with Thrisle the Wardmoth away from her she could attack him from behind. Lucda the purimoth was still shooting at her but she could dodge most and arrow did absorb a lot of the damage for her in any case so she should be safe for a little while. Karina ran after Stratos and the Wardmoth. As she got close enough she used high jump to jump on it's back and start her assault from there. She ran up its back dragging her keyblade along the way damaging it. As she got closer to the head she lifted her keyblade off it's back and jumped bringing it down on the horn. From there she began a combo that should have been what it would take in order to take the thing out. Karina delivered the last blow before jumping back and doing a back flip off the top of it's head. As she landed she wasn't as solid as she thought she was. one of her knees buckled under her and she was forced to drop it to the ground, planting her fist on the ground as well to keep her steady. Karina was tired but at least the behemoth was dead... wait what it was? The damn thing had survived her hits, just barely but it survived and Karina was having a hard time finding the strength to stand once again much less fight. Before Karina could realize what had just happened she was suddenly dragged to right in front of the Wardmoth. He didn't do anything however. With Karina on the ground in an almost vulnerable position Lucda decided to take advantage of that and shoot at her a couple more times. As the last one hit Karina could start to really feel the pain of the attacks even through aero. It had shot at her a few time through the battle with Thrisle and Aero didn't block everything. Karina could really feel it now. A shot scream escaped Karina's lips as she sat holding her side and trying to catch her breath on the ground. On their own these behemoths could be scary but when they worked together it was so much worse, more than she could handle. There in the arms of R Xepphiras felt like she could be an actual person once again. She felt so much like an emotionless zombie just following every one trying to be her own person but was always pulled back by the chains she was bound by. Xepphiras's mind was struggling so much to keep up with everything since she had become a nobody that she just gave up on trying to figure everything out and tried to live her life the best she could. But no matter how much she tried nothing was the same, nothing seemed right to her. The emotions that she lacked was such a major part of her being that without them she didn't feel like much of a being at all, but that was because she wasn't. There was a reason that what she was called was a nobody after all. But in the arms of the man who saved her countless times and taught her to control the darkness, something told her that she would be alright it would just take time to adjust and perhaps she could live some sort of a life like Gexln had. Her had a girlfriend and daughter. That had to say something about being a nobody. Xepphiras just had to hold onto the hope it would get better in time. Soon Ananta stepped in to heal R, asking her to step away. As much as Xepphiras didn't want to, she did as she was told and took a step back from R giving Ananta space. She walked over to the edge of the platform they where standing on and stared out over her station of awakening. The fractured piece of glass was her, it was what was inside her. It held the people that where influential in her life, and showed the darkness that bordered her fractured soul.... no that wasn't the darkness it was showing because that one was under control and didn't infulence her life as much. It showed the darkness deep down, the darkness that was supressed for now but R seemed to have control over. The darkness that held the most power inside of her. As Xepphiras thought over this she heard Juliet come up and she started to yell at her father. Xepphiras tried not to pay much attention but it was hard not to. Once it quieted down slightly after Anta said what he needed to her Xepphiras finally spoke. She did not turn to them simply stared out over her station of awakening. "You should just be glad that you still have one of your parents. Even if they found themselves someone else to help mend the hole already. If you give them time perhaps they can seem like a parental figure to you as well. Don't scold your parents for their actions you may end up regretting it. One morning you may wake up and they are gone and you have no one. So don't spend the time you have with them mad at them." Xepphiras spoke from her own experience. There was no hint of sadness in her voice, even when she still had feelings she had come to terms with what had happened and no longer let it sadden her. She just wished others would realize that they can't afford to hate those closest to them because you never know when they might be taken away from you.
Tasha squinted as the lights where turned on all of the sudden. The bright light gave her a nearly instant head ache. Tasha groaned and looked down at the ground, away from the light. The man then went on to talk about going into detail. He opened a folder and start reading out details... about her. He went through the basics of her life, the fact that she was an orphan, the fact that her parents died in a tragic accident, how she feared losing her brother... More information than she had given them in her letter meaning that they had to have done some extensive research on her. Tasha shifted uncomfortably as he finished reading. She had purposely retained most of the information for one purpose. It wasn't that she was ashamed of her life, no it was that she didn't want pity. She wasn't particularly thrilled with her life but she didn't want people to feel sorry for her. That wasn't going to help anything nor did she want handouts. "You want to help? That is what you call threatening us to be here, and this!" Tasha lifted up her hand that was wrapped in a piece of table cloth up that was down dyed red. "If you wanted to help than you could have given me money and be done with it. This is not helping," Tasha wanted to yell and scream at them but she couldn't bring herself to do so. She was still relatively calm, not entirely calm but slightly. She looked at the man with some sort of desperation in her eyes. "Please.... please let us go. Just let me go home... I am sure my brother will be worried." Tasha should have known what the answer would be but her mind was kind of foggy still for some reason and she couldn't think clearly. She had the information she had asked for, well sort of but she couldn't think it through well enough to figure out exactly why. Her mind was too foggy. All she could think was the word collected... they collected them. The terminology was weird so that is what caught her but even that she couldn't tell if it was from whatever was messing with her mind.
Calmer, that wasn't the word that could be used to describe Karina at the moment. Her moves where more... fluent then before but saying she was calm was a slight overstatement. Karina was in fact not calm in the slightest, she just wasn't an angry wreck at this particular time. Her mind however had so many questions and concerns. One of the biggest being what Beuce meant, but she was also full of guilt at the same time. She felt as though she made Stratos snap and if anything where to happen to him it would have been all her fault. That was why she was working her butt off right now in this fight to kill the behemoth. It was certainly not because she was calm, not at all. Calm would imply a soundness of mind, and with that definition Karina was never calm there was always something negative in her mind, whether it was anger, anxiety, or depression, it didn't matter none lead to the definition of her being calm. Karina sped up her attempt at fleeing as the behemoth that was chasing her began to laugh a maniacal laugh. There was something that this behemoth seemed to find entertaining, like chasing her down was some sort of game. Karina glanced over at Stratos who seemed to be far to exhausted for his own good, that wasn't to say she wasn't as well but she wasn't going to let it stop her. Her tiredness was just a hurtle that she had to get over and continue fighting. Even though they had taken a break not long before, she didn't have time for another one. They had to finish this battle now. There was no time to put it off any longer because the longer this battle went on the more Karina feared a complete and utter break down. To some people they would think she already had it. She had lost the will to fight more than once but still could force herself to move when it came down to it. Karina knew that there was something worse waiting for her however if her emotions where pushed to far. It had only happened a couple times before but when Karina had a complete and utter breakdown she would start to shake and sob literally not able to do a single thing. It was almost like her body completely shut down and it wasn't easy to calm her down from that or bring her back to reality. Usually she had to get to that point herself and it would take a couple hours at least. Karina couldn't afford that at this time... or really at any time while here with these people. She didn't think she would get the privacy she would need to have a breakdown like that and not completely hate herself for it afterwords. Stratos soon drew aggro back on himself giving Karina a chance to attack. She knew she had to be quick in order to give Stratos a break. In his shape she didn't want to make him stress himself too much with that thing seeming to be having fun chasing them, playing with them. Karina started on her combination of attacks in order to do damage and get the aggro back on herself. Once the aggro was on her she turned to Stratos. "Take a break I can handle this. Don't worry for me. I can handle this fight... I owe you at least this much." Karina told Stratos as she continued to flee from Thrisle the Wardmoth as it continued to chase and laugh as he did so. Tasha stood in silence against her wall as she watched the man from before grab Derek and drag him out without a single word to them. The sound of the door slamming behind that made her cringe slightly. The loud sound echoed through the silence and the tension that was in the room at that particular time. It was soon after that the sound of a door opening was heard to Tasha's left. A man stepped through the door and was standing directly beside her, he soon began to speak. Tasha listened to each word carefully searching for a clue why they where there, what they wanted to do with them. He made a comment about if they had any questions they could ask and Tasha was tempted to right then and there ask the most obvious one taxing everyone's minds, why exactly where they there? But she had a feeling that question would not be answered they way they wanted it to be so Tasha refrained. He then mentioned something about not doing anything mindless, she could only assume he was referring to Willy and the fact that he had knocked Derek out. She could understand that request but that didn't stop her from wanting to attack. Calming her mind Tasha was the first to speak. Her voice was calm and not as shaky as before. Ever since she had the drink she had felt more calm and happy despite the entire situation. "So why us? What made your... superior... chose this group. I mean you can't even say you have the same age range because there are a few people who would be considered out of the average age range here. So why? There is no pattern at all." Tasha asked as she looked around at the others there with her. It might have seemed like a strange question to the others there but to her she needed answers like this to try to piece together and speculate exactly what was going on in her own mind, because she had a distrust for any answers they gave directly relating why they where here, for what reason where they summoned, using a threat no less to get them to attend.
After finishing her attack sequence and walked away Karina couldn't bring herself to look at Beuce so instead she stared in the direction of Stratos as he went to fight. Something was off about him however he didn't seem as calm as before. Maybe he had finally snapped. Maybe her attitude had pushed him to far and he finally snapped but instead of taking it out on her like the rest he was taking it out on the behemoth. However this was even more reckless than taking it out on her. Sire when some one was mad at Karina she fought back full force and wasn't afraid to threaten to or go through with hurting someone but she would never go far enough to kill them or injure them to the point they couldn't do anything at all. These behemoths wouldn't give him the same option. If they where given the chance they would end his life. Her fault or not Karina now had herself convinced it was. She aimed her keyblade in his direction. "Cure." She said softly as a type of green magic shot from the end of it at Stratos. With that over now she could help with the fight. Helping with fighting was a nice idea but it could wait a little longer, there was one other person that she had matters that needed dealt with, and that person was Beuce who was now on his feet. As he walked up behind her and began to speak Karina looked down at the ground. She didn't want to see him in such a rough beat up state because he was saving her. In her mind it was unfair. As much as she didn't like Beuce he had started by kind of leading the fight and seemed like people actually trusted him, meanwhile she was there as the bipolar glass canon. But if she wasn't there they still had Kel so it wasn't a huge loss. It was as she was thinking this that Beuce started to tell her his reason for why. He said the answer was simple but Karina couldn't see it, so she kept listening not really looking up at him as he spoke. "Because we're the same. I can see it in your eyes." When he had said those words Karina looked up and searched his eyes looking for understanding of what he had just said but came out empty handed. Beuce then raced away before she could actually ask him what he meant though she wanted to. At this point more than anything she wanted to know what he meant. Her racing mind kept her still for a moment, that was until the second behemoth showed up. With two behemoths now attacking the team seemed to be dividing and concerning and Karina had to chose who she would help. It was either the one that saved her life, or the one that was maintaining it this entire time. The one that she caused to seemingly break down. Karina owed Beuce her life but at this point she felt like she owed Stratos at least that much or more, besides they where a team after all, he had said so himself, they had to stick together. Karina ran up beside Stratos before going past him and attacking the behemoth. Her attacks where focused and quick. She did her best to draw the aggro away from Stratos. If she could keep the behemoth from attacking Stratos too much it would be good he was in rough shape as well. Karina for the most part was only dealing with exhaust over injuries. Karina was preparing her assault when a body came flying at her. Why was she not surprised that low and behold it was Beuce that was flying towards her. Of course, that idiot who had been doing like nothing for like who knows how long had decided to come flying towards her. What the hell?! What was his problem. How did he do stuff like that and it always lands on her. Like was Beuce trying to do everything in his power to make her hate him as much as possible. As the two of them crashed to the ground Karina rubbed the back of her head having hit the ground. Karina groaned but she was in better shape then Beuce as even though she cushioned his fall he seemed to be at a loss for breath. As Beuce got off and held out his hand to help her up, Karina growled in a low tone before accepting the help up. Karina gripped her keyblade tighter now as she was slightly annoyed once again and was ready to take it out on the weird behemoth. Karina barely moved her right foot before she was tackled to the ground again by Beuce. Apparently he really wanted to be on top.... That thought was cut short by an explosion where she had been a moment before. Next thing she knew Beuce grabbed her and rolled away as another of those same explosions landed near her. Karina cringed as she felt the heat on her back nothing painful but the fact it was there just bothered her a bit. But this wasn't what bothered her the most. What ended up bothering her was the last ball of concentrated energy that flew towards her. As she looked upon it she didn't thing there was time to move out of the way, that is when the man she thought she hated did something she would have never believed if she hadn't just watched it. Beuce, one of the biggest pests she had met in her time here had stepped in the way of the hit taking it on himself despite the fact that he was obvious worse shape then she was. Karina was wide eyed as she watched Beuce fall forward in seemingly slow motion, planting one knee into the ground. Karina was not in mind set enough to think of curing Beuce despite the ability to use magic once more instead all she could think or say was "Why?" Karina repeated the word a few times quietly before looking up at Beuce in tears. "Why me? Why bother to save me? That could have killed you! So Why do it? I am not worth it.... I am worth no ones life.... Stratos had me convinced it was okay to let others support me and help but this.... this is too much...." Karina wiped tears off her face. She full on felt sympathy for someone, oh how long it had been since she had felt that emotion. She always thought her life a mess and did not pity or sympathize with anyone else who had it hard because if she could keep moving forward then so could they... But this, this was different. The man was in a bad shape because he tried to save her life. Now she had to pay him back for that. The idea of forgiveness crossed her mind. She didn't know if she could forgive him fully yet but she could at least protect him while he was down. Karina only got off a single cure spell before charging full on in at the behemoth. This whole battle was just wrong. She hated having to fight these heartless while the real threat was still out there, the apprentices. She hated all the emotions she felt during it. She hated knowing she needed help, and most of all she hated herself for allowing a comrade for getting hurt as bad as he did. With tear filled eyes Karina leaped at the behemoth and started a powerful combo, one of her most powerful combos. Karina looked up to realize that the behemoth she attacked was not the same one that attacked them but instead a new one. Looking around the one that attacked them was gone and all that stood where it was before was a boy, Stratos. He seemed to be trying to tell her something but few words got through. over all she understood basically what he was trying to say. He wanted to save everyone because he had the keyblade meaning he must have the power to do so, but instead like her was only met with the feeling of failier. Karina stood near the new behemoth in silence not knowing what to do now. She slowly started to walk away seeing it was aggroed but she was not going far fast, instead her mind was still trying to sort through why Beuce would nearly give his life for her. Karina was soon on her keyblade glider racing around trying to get the Behemoth to follow her, a task that was not really too hard. The hard part was dodging all the long range shots that he had. Although it seemed that it's skill sets where everywhere it liked to use the ranged ones on Karina, some which could be hard to dodge. At one time arcane energy came down from the sky... er ceiling and struck Karina causing her to fall from her keyblade glider. As she hit the ground she began to run only to end up stepping on a flaming circle on the ground. Not only did it hurt but she could feel her defense fall. What was this thing? Sp many different attack types it was getting a little ridiculous. Well that seemed like an understatement when the next thing Karina knew two white ribbons... no bandages... came flying from the behemoth and wrapping around her. Instead of pulling her back like she anticipated it pulled itself to her. Karina couldn't imagine how that one worked. She was so much lighter then it. Even if it tried it would just pull her. Karina decided it had to be some sort of magic allowing it to do this. The next part that threw Karina off was that it prevented her from moving as it summoned a weapon. This would turn out bad. Lucky enough for Karina the behemoth didn't have the reaction time to use it's next ability before the stun wore off and Karina was able to dodge roll away. Just in time too as the massive behemoth to spin with weapon out in attempts to cut her. A few black strands of hair floated to the ground behind Karina but besides that no harm done. It was around this time that Stratos finally took aggro back. Took him long enough.Karina let out a sigh of relief as she prepared herself for her next attacks. Summoning her keyblade glider once again Karina got on and followed Stratos and the behemoth from high in the sky. As the two below made a turn Karina cut the corner and jumped off her glider, transforming it back into a keyblade in her hand. She flipped in mid air and brought her keyblade down on it's horn. She then proceeded to use poison edge on the creature. Poison didn't do a whole lot of damage but enough to help her a bit. After all some damage was better then none right? Karina then decided before continuing the assault, due to the mass amount of different moves this thing was capable of and how unpredictable it made it, that it would be a good idea to summon Marahute, the savior back. Landing on the ground Karina gave herself some space before summoning. "Fairy godmother I need you." "Yes deary what can I do for you? A new outfit perhaps? That one is quite a mess." "No nothing like that I am in the middle of a battle, this will due. I need you to help me resummon Marahute" "Of course Deary. Bippity boppity bo! There you are." The fairy god mother waved its wand over Karina giving her the ability to summon Marahute once more. After that she disappeared in a puff of smoke. Karina then proceeded to call one one of her most trusted summons for help. Now with a massive eagle flying overhead Karina could finish the assault and and draw the aggro back on herself. Rushing forward Karina used high jump instead of her glider to get up to the level of it's horn and proceeded to use trip around the sun. If that didn't piss it off Karina didn't know what would. And surely enough, it did. The idea of them being a team made sense they did constantly have each others backs and work together to make sure that the heartless on their side where defeated, but Karina still had some doubts about her being the one that he should concern himself with saving. Sure the rest had the teamwork thing down and could save each other. but they also where not getting the fighting thing down very well. Karina believed that Stratos could save more people by simply help with finishing off the heartless instead of worrying about her. He also pointed out that she used her idea of thinking she was worthless to justify throwing herself at the heartless like she had a death wish. That was not as true as it seemed. Sure she felt worthless and didn't care what happened to her but that was not why she threw herself at the heartless time and time again. In fact when she was depressed and feeling the most worthless was when she stayed away from the heartless the most. She didn't want ti fight them when she was in that mood. Why she threw herself at them time and time again was she couldn't help but let rage dictate her actions, and her rage no matter where it came from was redirected onto the heartless making Karina simply want to destroy them with little thought. When she was like that the thought of death rarely crossed her mind much less scared her. If she died, she died, no big deal. That was how Karin'a mind really worked. As they sat and rested Karina took a short look around to make sure no one else was really close enough to listen before talking to Stratos. She felt like she needed to give him some sort of understanding of where she was coming from with everything she did. "Look..." Karina started hesitantly as she seemed to be starting to calm down. "My father... well he was the general of the army on my planet. I always wanted to impress him, show him I could be part of his army too but my father wouldn't have it. I worked hard every day training to show him I could do it, becoming stronger, and yet I was still nothing in his eyes. So I tried to be what I was expected to be. I tried to serve him and his men when needed. Cook and clean when I was supposed to, and stay away when he wanted me to... yet I still always messed up." Karina sighed as she spoke not knowing if any of this would help Stratos understand or if it would just embarrass her more. "With each time I messed up I was called worthless and occasionally beaten for it. When I came here I let the anger I stored up towards him control me. My hatred of other.... my destructive attitude.... Everything. I can't stop it. I am sorry you have to put up with it. If you hate me by the end I understand." Karina finished her explanation still feeling more than a little embarrassed that she told someone that and admitted to things she never wanted to admit to. "Please don't tell anyone." She added. She never did want anyone to know but she slipped and told her team mate now she just didn't want it to leak to the rest. With the explanation over with it was time to get back to fighting. Karina forced her still tired body off the ground to get ready to fight. She may have been a little tired but the short rest was enough that Karina felt like she could keep going, that was as long as she didn't have a complete anger breakdown again. Those had a habit of draining her fast. Karina took one last deep breath to make sure she calmed herself a bit more before full on running into battle. Karina had to dodge around a few skill shot type almost lightning based attacks before she could even get close to the heartless. But once there she began to go at it, repetitively smacking it with her keyblade until one of it's attacks forced her to back off, but now the aggro was on her. Karina started to run and gave a small nod to Stratos. Their tactic for defeating the first behemoth was back. They just needed to alternate aggro so neither got too warn out or injured. From what Xepphiras could tell Gexln was getting annoyed with her. It was a good thing that R had finished his trial then. As R approached the top where the rest stood she looked at him for a moment, he seemed to had taken quite a beating in his trial which seemed unusual to Xepphiras. Standing their looking at her she finally started to move towards him. Xepphiras wrapped her arms round his waist and rested her head against his chest. "You're safe...." She stated as she held him. Earlier her mind started to question where he was and why he wasn't out yet so the statement was more used to settle her mind. She wasn't about to explain her doubts about herself to R either but this was mainly because she didn't think she had to. Ever since the darkness too a hold of her in the trial she could feel it deep down swirling waiting for a moment of weakness again, but here in the arms of the man who taught her to control the darkness, the one who protected her time and time again she felt like she had the strength to keep it at bay. Xepphiras said nothing else to R, she just kept holding him not wanting to let him go. For a child he was like a safety blanket. He was her source of comfort right now even though she knew she should be strong. She would hold that off until the war.
Karina listened to Stratos's entire counter rant. There was more than once she didn't know how to respond. He had brought up a general of an army needing his troops and that was indeed true but Karina was no general. Karina was not the one to plan every move down to a T with where everyone was and what they where to be doing. No Karina was the type of person to leave the rest of the group to work on her own, she was the one that would be planned as a distraction or something knowing she was expendable but still trusting that she could get herself out of it. "I'm not weak...." Karina repeated once again more quiet. It seemed that she was not trying to convince Stratos of this anymore but just herself. She was no longer talking physical strength but mental strength. The ability to control her thoughts and emotions and not to let anger run her life. "I'm not...... I'M NOT!" She continued shouting trying to calm her mind in the process but getting no where. Karina's hands shook as she kept quietly repeating those three words I'm not weak. Karina finally quieted down and charged forward. It almost seemed like she was trying to prove her mental strength through her physical strength now, like they where one and the same. That wasn't the case however but Karina's fragile mind could not think clear enough to realize that. Seeing as the aggro was back on Stratos it wasn't hard to find her way behind the heartless. One at a time Karina took some of her most powerful swings to the back of them, one by one taking them out instead of just drawing the aggro back. The Large Bodies where not fast unless they charged at Stratos, when they did that Karina had to work at closing the gap. After all she was not the fastest herself so closing gaps was hard when not on her key glider and she needed her keyblade in hand at the moment to be able to attack. The first few where easy to catch up with. Karina used a barrier surge to catch up with the following two. That left three still to take down. As one fell behind Karina took that moment to jump on it and kill it. She struggled to catch up with the seventh one that needed killed. Her barrier surge was on cool down and the thing kept charging at Stratos. Karina eventually got fed up and summoned her keyblade glider to charge straight at the thing. Ramming into it's back Karina was shot off her glider and landed on her back on the ground but at least the thing was dead. Karina was finally ready to respond to the last part of Stratos's counter rant while laying on her back on the ground. "You spend so much time trying to save one worthless life.... how much father ahead might you be if you gave up on that and just focused on the battle.... how many more lives might you be able to save of our comrades who are actually worth something... I mean I can't be the only one that these heartless are taking a toll on.... So why? Why focus on my life? I am worthless...." Karina said between deep breaths. Chasing the heartless was not an easy job and between that and the emotions it all together made her tired even when cured. "See I admitted it finally, what I was told all my life but refused to believe... I am worthless, and know what I don't care... I will do what I can anyhow then maybe my life will be worth something.... Just maybe...." Karina had seemed to calm down a bit but her emotions now bordered back on the depressed side. Damn did she have mood swings for such a short period of time. Either way no one could hold up being that angry forever. Karina was panting yet she still went to run in for another round, that was until something came flying in and bouncing around like a pinball machine. What the hell? What was going on who? As the thing settled Karina could see what, or rather who it was bouncing around. Stratos... of course, why was this no big surprise. It wasn't the first time he had done some sort of random crap like that and she doubted it would be his last. On top of that he had angered all the heartless including the ones that he didn't hit, only Stratos could manage that one. Karina staggered forward in her injured state ready to draw the aggro back. She let out a low growl at Stratos as almost a warning to back off, she was going to fight these alone, she didn't need any help, anyone else was a waste of her time. Karina was a strong independent black...(haired) woman who didn't need no mans help. Or so she believed, though in the state she was in it looked like she could pass out at any minute. Just keel over and die of exhaustion mixed with her wounds from her reckless behavior. Never the less she would keep going keep fighting. The warm green light that filled Karina was helpful in her getting back into the battle. The help felt nice but she could fight on her own. "I am not weak!" She yelled out not realizing she was verbalizing her thoughts. As Karina went forward to attack she suddenly felt less tanky, like the unknown power was gone. Her keyblade returned to her hand and she was no longer able to punch things for as much damage. What did Stratos do to her? An image of a battle with Stratos where she destroyed him then proceeded to poison his remains flashed through Karina's mind. What was that about? But she had her keyblade in it and it seemed that events of that effected her, as in how she changed for that battle, where ever or however it took place. Karina shook the thought off however. Her mind didn't have time to wonder from it's anger, well it did, it just didn't want to. With jaw clenched tight and a fiery gaze directed at Stratos, Karina proceeded to rush forward attacking each of the large bodies from behind one at a time, not enough to actually kill any but enough to gain the aggro back on her. It wasn't long before all eight large bodies where trained on her leaping at her, charging at her and all around wanting her dead. Karina didn't stop half the attacks either, she couldn't there was too much, but she would try, Karina would always try when it came to fighting whether it was a smart idea or not, and this case it was not. Between Blocking, getting hit and running away, Karina turned back to Stratos and began to yell at him. "Listen I don't need your help! I never asked for it! I don't want it! Let me fight alone, other people just weigh me down and piss me off. You are an immature little prick so stop acting like a fricken savior. You won't be able to save everyone you know! Piss off! I don't want anyone's help at all. The rest of you hear that?! Just go away!" Karina meant very little of what she said but the anger controlled her at this point. She wasn't thinking logically nor could she feel anything but anger that included gratitude, fear or loneliness. None of those things existed in Karina's world at the moment. Karina didn't hesitate for one moment before rushing forward at the heartless once again. Anger was completely and utterly running her actions at this point there was no thought or logic behind how she was fighting or what she should do to you know protect herself. None of this crossed her mind, she just wanted to take them all out. Karina started to pound her fists against the large bodies chest but was not getting anywhere when it came to injuring it. She had been taking them out fine before though. Karina started pounding harder hoping that would work but it didn't. the creature rubbed the back of it's head before deciding to jump forward hitting her back with its stomach. Karina fell to the ground but before she could get back up another one started to charge at her. Karina was just barely able to dodge roll out of the way. Karina staggered to her feet and charged right back at the heartless trying to use dolphin blow on it once again... still nothing. Karina knew she had to have done something different the first time but what that was she could not figure out. Well it wasn't that she couldn't figure it out but more like her mind was not calm enough to think it through enough in order to realize the solution. Karina was getting more and more frusterated and more reckless, letting the two large bodies hit her while she tries to beat them down. As one dived at her Karina was actually able to move out of the way. Turning around she started to punch it from behind and surely enough she did it. Although at first Karina did not realize this was the key. Karina simple thought that she had beat at the heartless enough that it died. Karina tried to beat the other one. She hit it over and over and over again not seeing any progress. The heartless charged at her knocking her to the ground once again but ended with it's back to her on the other side. Karina got up and attacked to successfully kill it. Something was working here. Then for a moment a small amount of logic leaked through the anger that clouded her mind. Perhaps it was because she was hitting them from behind that she was actually doing something. She had to test this. Karina went charging at a third large body. She dodge rolled behind it and started to beat on it but of course the large body decided to turn to her and charged her knocking her over once again. A low growl escaped Karina's lips as she found her way back behind the heartless to attack once again. Karina didn't have time to attack however as a heartless was trying to charge her from behind mean while the one she was trying to attack turned back around. Karina jumped into the air out of the way allowing the two to collide. Karina landed behind the one she was attacking and kill it soon after. Karina stood tired, beaten and bruised but she was not ready to completely stop yet. She stared out of the enemies at hand. She would keep going, she would beat them, but not until she caught her breath first. She was utterly exhusted at this point but wouldn't let that stop her. She hated these heartless and wanted them all dead and she hated the thought of stepping back and letting other people steal her kills again. Hate was what was driving her, and at this point she almost missed being depressed, that was how strong the anger and hate inside of her was now. Worse then ever before.
