Just after the ambulance left, his digivice went off, "Yeah?" "Uh-huh...No way, are you serious?" He looked at Clancy, "Looks like we're going to have our questions answered!" He went back to the phone, "Yeah, okay, so who does he answer to?...Him? Well, that's higher than I expected...HA!" Mikeru smiled, "I knew it!" Just as suddenly, he frowned, "Wait, are you sure? Why?...Chief, I can handle this by myself! I've got tons more experience than..." Mikeru sighed, "Yes, sir. I understand..." He tossed the phone to Clancy, "The chief wants to talk to you. Something about you and me being 'partners'." Guilmon looked at Mikeru like he had lost his mind.
OOC: Pirate, I can't help but have the funniest of images everytime your character speaks. 8DD BIC: Miker caught the phone, "Thank you," he put it up to his ear, "This is Mikeru from Sector 8, exactly who am I speaking to?" He paused, "Uh-huh, can you put me through to your superior?" Mikeru muttered something into the phone, "..." he rolled his eyes, "One of the best divisions in the country, and they can't get better elevator music when you're put on hold..." He looked in the distance to see Ienzo, looking hurt, "Aw, crap!" He raced over to where, hanging up on the phone, "We'll finish this after this crisis!"
Mikeru answered the grandpa, "Well, we might be able to find out..." Guilmon sniffed the air, "Yeah, we're getting close; they're definitely at the hospital." Guilmon went back into the digivice as a result. Mikeru sighed after that, "Look, we could be doing this for months, claiming who's right or who's better. Let's just make the call and get it over with."
Mikeru held up a hand, pausing Clancy for a second. He had seen the old man once before; Miyuki's grandfather. "If you want, sir, we could show you where the hospital is," He motioned Clancy to follow. "You've been lucky so far. Those digimon were all champion level. Even if you did beat them by yourself, without your digimon (which I doubt), there's no way you can beat an Ultimate, let alone a Mega. As for the government, give them a call right now, and we'll straighten this out" Mikeru stared at Clancy, "Yes, I know they've had samples of digimon for a year. Their departments have been consulting me for five years, now, about the digimon occurrances."
Mikeru couldn't help but laugh at the two, "You two do realize what you're up against, right?" He held up one hand and began to countdown, "One, you're dealing with an experienced opponent here, not just with digimon, but with weapons as well. You think you're the only one who knows how to use a bullet or an edge? Two, Guilmon can digivolve to Ultimate, not just Champion; we've been holding back so we don't cause too much damage, here" "And, more importantly, three: Why do you think I want to have a talk with your government contacts? Here's another: Why do you think I'm sure they'll listen to me?"
Mikeru smiled pleasantly, "Yeah, about that..." Guilmon quickly shot a small fireball at the camera. The camera was incinerated instantly. "Have your 'people' call your government contacts," Mikeru wrote down a number on a small piece of paper, and handed it to Clancy, "and tell them to call this number: That's how they will reach me. We'll straighten this whole thing out." Mikeru looked seriously at Clancy, "I apologize for ruining this moment for you, but you have no idea how serious this is. We'll make sure you're compensated, but it can't go on like this."

Mikeru walked up to Clancy and Commandramon, "Okay, hand over the camera. If you show digimon on tv, not only will people try and find them themselves, but we could have a government conspiracy on our hands. We're trying to keep this low profile, here."
Iiiiiit could hurt a little. Could hurt a lot. *eats yogurt*
Guilmon walked towards Mikeru, grinning. Mikeru put his hand on Guilmon's head after putting the eggs into his backpack, "Nice job, buddy." Guilmon then looked at Clancy and Commandramon, "Now for those two."
Growlmon delivered the finishing attack to the two weakened Boarmon, "Pyro Blaster!" A huge wave of fire shot out of his mouth, engulfing the two Boarmon, instantly resulting them turning into digi-eggs. Mikeru scooped the other two eggs up. He put the digivice to his ear, "Hey, it's me. Yeah, we finally got them. We'll hold onto them until tomorrow. Kay, bye." He put his digivice back, "We finally did it, Growlmon!" Growlmon nodded, and in a flash of light, reverted back to Guilmon X.
Growlmon continued to chase after the Boarmon, with Mikeru close behind. "Don't use too many of your fire attacks, Growlmon!" yelled Mikeru, "We don't want to set the park on fire!" Growlmon nodded, "Yeah, I know!" he got as close as he could to the Boarmon, "Raiden Blade!" The blade on his arm charged with electricity, and quickly sliced one of the Boarmon, turning it into a digiegg. "Alright!" Mikeru smiled and grabbed the egg, "One down, two to go!"
Guilmon took off at full speed, jumping over Clancy and Commandramon in the process. He jumped as high as he could, over Miyuki and Terriermon's heads. Mikeru whipped out his digivice iC, his free hand glowing red from a digital field. "DNA charge!" he yelled. He placed his hand on the digivice. Immediately, Guilmon's form started to breakdown and reform to something bigger, meaner, and stronger. "Guilmon X digivolved to...Growlmon X" Growlmon landed a few feet in front of Terriermon and Miyuki. He quickly whipped his huge tail, knocking all three of the Boarmon off their feet, and sent them back about ten feet.
"That's it!" said Guilmon, "They're not getting away this time!" He took a deep breath, "Pyro Sphere!" Guilmon blew a giant fire ball towards the three charging Boarmon, but in the process hit the hiding Clancy and Commandramon. "What are you three doing?!" yelled Mikeru, "Get out of the way!!"
Mikeru analyzed Leomon with his digivice iC, "From Mega to a Champion...yeah, that's quite a leap," Mikeru looked at Leomon, "But, at least now, we can hide you until it's possible to send you back...which looks like until another gate opens." Guilmon sniffed the air, and growled again, "He's back! Boarmon!" Guilmon turned the opposite direction. A low rumble was coming closer towards the group.
Mikeru shielded his eyes, even though he was wearing sunglasses. "Guilmon?" Guilmon growled, "I don't know...I'm not sure what this is, but...I think it's a digivolution!"
Mikeru shook his head, "No, he's too big; you can see him over the trees if he lies down." Mikeru paced a little, "....okay, I think I might have an idea." He stopped walking, "When a digimon digivolves, it's releasing a ton of energy. When most digimon revert back, it's because they've run low on energy, the less they have, the lower the level. I think we might be able to send SaberLeomon back if we can get it to release the majority of it's stored energy."
Cast 'Revive' to 'Forum'?
You've pretty much got it right; natural selection is more of a necessity, but at the same time there isn't much control of that in the animal kingdom (a bit different with humans, but only a bit). Sexual selection is where one sex chooses a mate, mainly.
Guilmon walked cautiously to SabreLeomon and sniffed him. He looked back at Mikeru, "She's right. He's agitated, but he's not looking for a fight...but we still have a problem." Mikeru nodded, "Right. How are we going to get him back to the digital world? It would take all our Champions weeks before we could seriously injure a Mega level digimon. Besides, it's not going to be long before the rest of the city notices a 50-ft, saber toothed tiger."
