Dark smiled, "Take it easy, princess," he tried to help her up, "You're going to be a little disoriented from all that's happened. How do you feel?"
Dark noticed Kairi was getting worse, "Crud, better hurry!" He flew around, until he saw it: A gigantic version of the Angelic Tears. He quickly thrust several of his black feathers at it, destroying it. He landed, and tried to coax Kairi to wake up.
"Darn it!" Dark said, frustrated, "Should've known it wouldn't be that easy...," he looked around, "the angelic tears aren't going to give her up without a fight...I've got to find some way to break the trance before the damage to her becomes permanent. Dark scooped up Kairi, and held her in his arms. He smiled, "At least Sota doesn't have a say as to whether or not I can hold you while I try and free you," He summoned With to be his wings, and took flight, trying to hunt for a clue to free Kairi.
Dark heard Kairi's footsteps, and ran after them. After awhile, he saw Kairi come into view. "Kairi! Kairi!" He finally caught up to her and cut her off. Dark saw that Kairi was unresponsive. He pulled out a black feather, and said something in German. The feather glowed for a second, and he gently touched Kairi's head with it.
Dark took control of Sota's hand for a second, reached inside his pocket, and pulled out the 'Angelic Tears'. Sota gaped in amazement, "How did you-?" "No time," Dark said, "Hold the vial inbetween yours and Kairi's hand. Kairi's lost in a world that the Tears are creating. I'll go in, find her, and pull her out. Once I do that, the magic on the Tears will break, and she'll be good as new." Sota nodded, "Okay. Be careful, Dark." He did as Dark asked. Dark entered Kairi's mind, where the darkness was holding her. "Kairi!" he called.
The doctor had hooked Kairi up to life support before he had left, but despite that, Kairi was still having trouble breathing...this didn't make any sense. "Hey! Sota!" Sota looked up in surprise, "Dark?" Dark nodded in a reflection from a nearby IV, "I think I know what's wrong with her. Whenever I steal items, they always contain some magic in them. She's been hanging onto the 'Angelic Tears' for so long, I think it affected her health." Sota looked around, to see if anyone was listening, "So, what do you recommend?" he whispered. "She's going into a comatose-like state. I can channel the 'Angelic Tears' to come here, we can use it as a medium, and I can try and reverse what's happened to Kairi."
Sota gently smiled at Kairi before she passed out, and cupped her cheek with his hand, "She seems like she has no energy..." "Again, because of the infection. She'll be exhausted for about a week, but she'll be good as new almost immediately after that," said the doctor. Sota smiled, and gently whispered into Kairi's ear, "I'm here for you, Kairi."
Sota heard Kairi cough, looked up, and pointed it out to the doctor. He quickly went in, examined her chest, and her sides. He put a breathing mask on Kairi, and called in a nurse to help with a few procedures. Sota quickly ran in with the nurse. "What's wrong?" Sota asked. "It's that infection I told you about...apparently it's been here longer than we thought. She must have had this sickness for more than just a day, otherwise it wouldn't have spread this far. We're going to drain the area that," the doctor swabbed the area that Kairi was having pain, and gently inserted a needle with a tube into her side, "and put her on antibiotics immediately. I know it looks bad," he said, seeing Sota's expression, "but she's still going to be fine. The worst that will happen from this type of infection is her being in a bit of pain for a few days," he smiled at Sota, "You're welcome to stay with her, though." Sota nodded, "Thanks," and sat beside Kairi.
Sota saw that she was breathing peacefully, and sighed in relief. One of the doctors came out, asked Sota to sit with him, and the two talked for a bit. "...she has an infection in her lungs?" Sota asked, confused. "Yes," said the doctor, "If what you're telling me is right, this is probably because of the pneumonia she just got over. It's rare that this happened, but the good news is, it's treatable, and she'll make a full recovery in a few hours. Normally it's longer, but you got her here in the early stages..." Sota dropped his head, thanking his stars that Kairi was okay, while listening to the doctor giving him the perscription.
Sota watched as one of the doctors noticed Kairi breathing oddly, and examined her. He called another doctor to look, and after feeling her throat, examined her a bit more closely, and noticed that she was in pain. They gave her something to help deal with the pain.
Sota watched through a window as doctors examined Kairi. They saw that she was having trouble breathing, and tried a few procedure techniques, while at the same time, tried to warm her up.
I've got to finish the one class before this month is up.
Okay. Just trying to survive. You?
Sota watched as Kairi passed out, "Oh, crap!" He quickly grabbed his cell and called an ambulance. The driver and an orderly took the two of them to a hospital.
Sota watched Kairi's color drain. She was getting colder the more his hand was on her head. That settled it. He grabbed the blanket, wrapped the two of them up in it again, and sat behind her, wrapping his arms around her. "I'll leave when you're brother returns," he said, "At the rate your temperature's dropping, it's too dangeroud to leave you here alone, promise or no promise." He started rubbing her back, trying to warm her up.
Sota was noticing her losing color. He sat back down, and put his hand to her head. It was cold and clammy. "What did the nurse say you have?"
Sota noticed her going pale, "Umm...you want something to drink, before I leave, that is?"
Sota smiled, a little sadly, "Trusting you isn't the problem. I know you would never do anything to intentionally hurt yourself or others. It's just everything else, I can't vouch for." He unwrapped himself from the blanket, then leaned in and kissed Kairi's lips. After that, he looked into her eyes, smiled, and scooped up a sleeping With.
Sota moved his arm, and gently ran his fingers through her hair, "You promise to call me if something happens, and you need help?"
Sota smiled a little, then frowned, "Yeah, but at the same time, I don't like leaving you all alone when you're sick...your brother stays out pretty late, with his jobs and all."
