"I know that I should be glad, but I have never had to just play. I don't know what to do with myself. Sorry." Annabelle apologized as she held her hands in front of her and look down slightly. "Would you really teach me? I would love that. You are so good with earth magic. It is stronger than mine. I would love you to show me how to be strong like you." Annabelle replied to Violet. She was getting excited now. A smile spread across her face. She felt very out of place here, so if there was a lesson of some sort it would make her feel better. Terra's head snapped towards the sound before she pushed Sweallow behind her. "Story time has to wait, we have company." Terra said as she took stance ready to fight. She started with casting a barrier around her and Sweallow to protect them with one hand, while in the other she was working a magic that was not seen at first. There was a crack of static in the sky before dark clouds formed over top of the creature. Terra made another move with her hand as lightning came crashing down at it. In the meantime her barrier crackled and flickered as she tried to maintain both magics at once. She was not as trained as she used to be and after the injury and the magical effort used in the last fight, she as finding it more difficult to control a high amount of magic, but she was not going to stop. Terra slowly backed away to try to give them more space between them and the beast. "Don't touch the barrier, or you will get electrocuted." Terra instructed harshly. Seth was startled at Tessa's outburst but decided not to say anything. He watched as Matilda's eyes saddened unsure what to say next. Though despite the upset girl in front of him, he didn't linger or offer a word of comfort or anything. He simply turned and followed after Tessa. He didn't look to see if Adoline followed, or stayed with Matilda, or went his own way. It didn't matter too much. The man could handle himself. Matilda was a rich little girl. Tessa could take care of herself but he hated the thought of leaving her. He raced after Tessa but didn't say anything as he reached her. She needed to cool down so Seth would keep his mouth shut and not dare to make it any worse. She would calm down and talk to him when she was ready. Keenan found himself running his fingers through his hair a few times as the silence continued on. He wished that things could be easier with Veera. He wished he could just talk and joke with her like he did with the others. Things were just so tense. He could deal with it though, after all right before he left he had to get between a fight with an angry dwarf and a elf. That was a tense situation if you ever saw one. In the end neither creature died and actually went out for a beer after, and Keenan himself had escaped with only one new scar. Nasty temper that dwarf did have, as most dwarves did. So after that, this tense situation was manageable if not just slightly annoying. He couldn't walk away however due to the nature of the task at hand. So he followed Veera over the hill and through the woods.
Roxanne was thankful that they didn't stay around the battle long, she did not need another thing to happen that could lead to her death, she was barely dodging it as it was. She chased after Clarity inside the institute, a great number of Felicia's wolves following behind as per a silent command given mid fight. The only two wolves that remained were the two that had stayed beside her the entire time, almost as body guards. They had not stepped in the fight yet, but they remained even still. The wolves were left after they entered the institute, leaving Roxanne and Clarity to go in peace to the room that they left Brianne in. As they entered, Roxanne observed that Brianne began to wake up. A command from Clarity and the help of Brianne, Roxanne now held a stele in her hand once again. It didn't feel right though, this was not her stele, it was Brianne's. Brianne should be the one drawing the rune to protect the institute, not her. Though in the end there was no choice. She didn't know where any other fellow Shadow hunters were, but the only other one here couldn't do it. It was up to her whether she liked it or not. Holding the stele in her hand, Roxanne went back to the entrance, allowing any last werewolves that wanted in, in. She took once glance at the fight outside then took a deep breath and began to draw the rune. Her hand shook slightly as she did so, it all felt so wrong, but she did what she had to. This would help keep Brianne safe. Not from Corvo who could simply remove the rune, but from the threat that was outside, the fight that was going on. When she completed the task Roxanne returned to the room and set the stele on the table. As much as it would be useful to have, she couldn't stand using it more than she had to, because it was Brianne's. Brianne was the one supposed to be doing it, Brianne should be using the stele, not her. Roxanne wanted her own back, but more than anything she wanted things to go back to the way they were. She could handle losing all that she had lost, but she couldn't lose anyone else. Not again. She didn't know what she would do with herself. The room felt too quiet, too sad. Roxanne looked around an open spot, moving a couple things to make one big enough. When there was enough room she took a few slow steps and one deep breath before jumping into one of her award winning floor routines that she had learned in gymnastics a few years before. She still couldn't clear her head but she could lose herself in this, and perhaps lighten the mood in the room slightly, entertain the others so it didn't feel so dark and sad in the room. Slavko simply leaned against the wall as Grayson first punched it and then began to talk himself. The wolf was stronger than a normal person should be, that meant that he probably was given something by the doctor, judging by the mans words, it was right on the money too. An unfair advantage for the wolf, but what could he do about it? Then there was the fact that Grayson seemed to know what he was trying to do and even taunting him back, a sad attempt at it however. "Yes yes they won't let you kill me, you won't kill me and others are waiting to die. You think I am stupid and all that, I get it. I will not confirm or deny your statements, they may or may not be true, and they may or may not come to pass, but hey a guys got to try. After all I need to get out of here at some point so I can put down the rest of you pups. So easy to pick some off after you disappeared really. They were nice and weak too. I just look forward to a challenge in the future. So what do you say making things a little more interesting for the audience?" Slavko suggested, glancing up to where he assumed the doctor was watching from.
There was a quizzical look on Laureninus' face as he watched the man freak out. It was possible it was just an act, but he didn't think so. So what was it, Disassociated Identity Disorder? Perhaps schizophrenia? Either way it started to feel like this man just needed to get help, and that meant getting him free, as much as Ren hated to admit it. Then of course Kara had to speak up and add to the conversation. "Yes it was stupid, I am an idiot you don't have to say it. That doesn't change the fact that it was that voice that caused the spider to have a break down. It was that voice that hurt your friend and sent him running. But whatever clearly I don't know a damn thing and none of it matters, so can we just get this thing done then?" Ren asked, clearly annoyed with everything right now. He didn't want to really talk to anyone anymore, feeling that they all had something against him when all he was trying to do was make sure they were safe and doing the right thing.
Clarity left the room and started to talk to her as they walked. Of course Clarity had to bring up her grandmother. Things couldn't just be left to simple what was in front of them. "Don't you think I know that she would be disappointed? She was strong, she was the reason I wanted to be a shadow hunter. However I instead let her only daughter and son in law die. Her granddaughter taken away. And the only hope of our family line has been killed by my own hands... well at least a family line that will know what line they truly belong to. So don't you damn stand there and tell me about her disappointment because I already know." Roxanne retorted, stiffening a little as she did, her hands clenched at her side. Then finally talk shifted to the actual situation. It didn't surprise her that they knew that people would try and kill Brianne, but Roxanne knew enough to offer suggestions. "Did you know that The Inquisitor has a time limit? Three days from the Seelie Queen, and before she changes from Old Man. Take Brianne and hide her, don't tell me where though. Lay low for three days then deal with what comes next, but Old man says he nor the Inquisitor can touch her after she sifts." Roxanne provided Clarity with a little more detail. "I was supposed to help the Inquisitor deal with things peacefully and then it changed, he got stressed and sent me away. But I can't stay here long, it will just bring problems. My life is held in the hands of others now, I won't be allowed away for long before it gets me in trouble." Roxanne tried to explain, but she was handed a knife as they went outside. It was odd holding a knife other than her own, but she would do as she was told and watch Clarity's back for the time being. She couldn't just leave right now without it seeming like something else was going on. She needed to show that she was on their side. As they walked out Roxanne laid eyes on the fight that was happening. She stayed close to Clarity, but unlike the girl, had no desire to get involved in the fight unless really necessary. Felicia grit her teeth as both attacks were blocked followed by her receiving a punch in the stomach. She was forced to move back slightly before Cinaed swung at her. She held her sword with two hands as she blocked the attack, barely able to hold it back at the moment. Her eyes dashed to her pack and back to Cinaed as she pushed his claymore away. She then brought her sword in an upward sweep, aimed for Cin's middle. Her swing strong, she was trying to end him quickly. She couldn't afford to fight for too long, she needed to either let her wound heal or stitch it up eventually. She couldn't just keep on fighting in this shape, but if it would save her pack then she would. "Yeah yeah you don't need to remind me." Slavko waved the woman off before she left, not without telling him he was to fight a werewolf. Though the problem with that, was he was not left with his weapon, and hand to hand combat was not Slavko's strong suite. "So you don't want me to kill him, and you don't want him to kill me, but you give me no way to fight, seems fair." Slavko mumbled. He glanced at his opponent. There was no way he could win this fight, so why should he even bother. Though the rules forbid them to kill each other, perhaps Slavko could piss the wolf off enough to make him break the rules. It would be a win win. He would get out of the place and eventually come back somewhere else, and mister wolfie would get in trouble. "So how did a puppy like yourself find yourself here? Did mommy abandon you? Where you just looking for a friend to love your ugly mug? Or perhaps you actually believed yourself strong and found that wrong." Slavko commented, ready to dodge whatever Grayson tried. If he could keep dodging and keep taunting, Grayson might get fed up enough to accidentally put too much power behind an attack, and then the he would win, once again.
Yvette was more than a little surprised that she was to go with the Commander on the landing. She wasn't quite sure why she would need a pilot with her, but there was no arguing with the Commander. "Yes Ma'am." Yvette responded as her eyes quickly glanced over the controls and screens in front of her, ensuring everything was set so she could walk away. Thankfully the co-pilot showed up about that time. Yvette got up so he could take her seat but before she followed the commander she stopped to give him a few instructions. "I currently have the front and rear thrusters working against each other to keep us idol and allow for a quick maneuver if necessary. Be careful when you go to do anything. As soon as one is turned off without turning off the other it will shoot off. You don't want to wreck the captains ship. So please be careful." She urged her fellow Ensign pilot. It shouldn't be too hard to figure out, but she had been dealing with everything until now, and now it worried her to leave it, still orders were orders. With the instructions given Yvette rushed off to catch up to Brianne, getting in the elevator just before it closed. She would not make the commander wait. She knew better than to make someone of higher authority wait for you. She followed Brianne through the armoury but did not head for any weapons herself. Instead standing back with her arms behind her back, awaiting commands. Though capable of fighting, Yvette was not a fan of it, nor was it what she enlisted to do. If she had to she would but she also would try to avoid it if she could. While one boy spoke and asked questions, another barked commands around, Yvette stayed quiet and out of the way. She was sure all would be revealed soon enough to what they each were to do.
"Perhaps there is a reason I never told you." Rose replied in her normal dry tone. She preferred people fearing her than thinking that she was funny or had a sense of humour. "Of course I killed him, right after I broke his wrist I killed him with his own knife." Rose informed Teliana as she used the same knife to start picking out blood from under her fingernails. Then there was talk about her dying and her legacy, what she did there. Rose rolled her eyes, the girl was being too dramatic. If she could run into that van and pull the stunt she did, she was strong enough to live after it. Rose wouldn't really accept letting her die. "Why did that stupid robot thing have to move you? Back at the van there was all the cloth we needed to keep your wounds wrapped. After all dead people don't need clothing. Here however we have next to nothing. Damn it. It is too dangerous to go anywhere yet. Hurry up Kalak and clear the way." Rose mumbled as she looked at the battle in the distance before putting pressure on one of Teliana's more major wounds. She didn't say too much after that, comfort never really was Rose's strong suite... or talking in general really.
"I will not stand beside you simply because you march in here and request it. Threats do not scare me, don't even try." Felicia said as he hand suddenly wrapped around a throwing knife and tossed it at the mans head before she pushed off the steps, jumping towards Cinaed. She swung her sword towards his neck. She was as done talking as Cin was and now it was time to fight, most likely to the death, She somewhat hoped that Rhett would help and side with her on this matter, but it was not required. She had picked this fight and it was hers to deal with. Her shoulder was screaming with pain as she swung her sword, fresh blood seeping through her shirt. She had not let the wound fully close in the first place so this didn't help. That being said a shoulder wound wouldn't stop her from fighting for her pack. She was not about to stand by and do nothing while Cinaed brought them into war either.
As Roxanne stood in the door looking at Brianne in the shape she was in, she tried to piece together all the information she knew. A bit of it was a little twisted in Roxanne's mind, given that a lot of the information she heard was during a time that her mind was not so settle, but whatever was going on with Brianne, it was starting to come together that it wasn't just a common illness, it was something a lot bigger. Was she infected by something? Is that why Old man said that it had to be quick or else they would be breaking the accords? It was possible but Roxanne didn't dare ask. She waited for Clarity to finish on the phone before addressing anything said before she answered the phone, not daring to interrupt and end up with one of the knives from before impaled in her. "If you want me to leave her in peace fine, then at least you can come talk to me and then I will be out of your hair. I.. I can't stick around long." Roxanne said not willing to admit that there was a chance that trouble would be following her. If she could get it through these people's heads to hide Brianne then she would leave, not ask where they took Brianne, and then Brianne would be safe. It was the best way, but that required people to talk to her, listen to her. She didn't know if anyone was will, especially not Clarity, but she had to try, while she was on the calmer side of things still. "Oh I am sorry, was I not clear last time. Go. Burn. In. Hell." Felicia made sure to emphasize and slow her words just to make sure that Cin got it through his skull. "Unlike most of you I have had the luxury of watching this world from the outside for many years. I am not an idiot. Like mundanes need laws and police to govern them, we have the Nephilim. I am not so delusional not not think that there would be people running around doing things they shouldn't and with no one to stop them, then what? A world of chaos. I am sure that you fairy creatures wouldn't take law and rule from us wolves, and warlocks would not sit under your thumbs surely. So where does that leave us? A world of chaos and war? So you you think you are going to lead my pack into a war to accomplish that, you are mistaken." Felicia said as she drew her sword with on hand, her other hovering over her throwing knives. She really didn't want to fight and her shoulder was already protesting it, but what choice did she have? She was not about to stand back and let this fairy take away her pack to some battle that was not theirs to fight, for a purpose she did not believe in. "Now that I have made that perfectly bloody clear. I think it is time you leave before your blood covers the entry way. No one here needs to deal with that right now." Felicia's eyes were fierce. She was not joking around and she would do whatever it took in order to get rid of this man, she just hoped that it wouldn't come to killing him, though sometimes that was all you could do to keep position as Alpha, and if that was the case, then so be it.
Yvette stayed silent as everything happened around her. She had not too much to do until something happened and her co-pilot had yet to appear. Even with the lull in her own duties, Yvette ensured that she was vigilant. She couldn't allow herself to rest, not when they were not entirely sure what was going on with this other ship. Though in this time she did allow her mind to wander to the worry of someone recognizing her last name. She thought of faking a name when joining, but if people found out then it would look really bad on her part. She would prefer to avoid that if she could. As long as she didn't have to hear anyone call her Lady Grear for a very long time. She would be perfectly happy if she didn't have to hear that for a very long time.
Felicia let out a dry chuckle. "You speak like you understand how I work what I have done. I have only killed one person to get to the point I am, and that was my own master. The one who told me it was the only way to prove myself to him, if I didn't kill him I wasn't good enough and he would kill me. Yes I have fought to get where I am because that is what the others wanted, they challenged me. If you think me standing up to fight alongside you is some sort of other form or bloodshed just for a title then you know nothing Rhett. I fight to defend my pack, their friends, and the people who have been able to keep everything under control better than any werewolf pack would ever be able to on their own. I am not blind and I do not believe that we do not need the Nephilim. I do not try to rule off of fear. I try to earn respect. That is why I am here if my wolves want to help then I will lead them into battle, but if not one does then I will lead them into safety. But I will lead and not just come down on them with an iron fist." Felicia tried to explain to Rhett. In the end she was feeling like it would be pointless to try but at least she could explain, the rest he would have to see for himself. And if he didn't see that in her, then it wasn't her problem anyways. It seemed that was where the conversation ended as a fairy approached them. Felicia turned away from Rhett to the man who had approached, narrowing her eyes as he spoke. "Like hell you are just going to take off with my pack. Who do you think you are?" Felicia said as her hand wrapped around the handle of her sword. She didn't draw it yet, but she was ready to. "Why should I even consider it, trusting a stranger, and what makes you think even if you beat me they will follow? As Rhett here stated not a moment before building a pack on fear isn't a strong one. So stay the hell back or I promise I will rip your throat out." Roxanne sat in the bath a while longer until her tears had dried. Eventually she dragged herself out and got dressed into fresh clothing that she had grabbed before she went for the bath. It felt nice to be in proper clothing at last, instead of the dirty torn stuff she was wearing up until now. Exiting the bathroom she looked around the halls, with werewolves still lurking everywhere, she didn't feel comfortable really lingering anywhere for too long. She found herself pacing and eventually heading back towards the room that Brianne was in before. Reaching the door she found that Brianne had returned. Roxanne stood in the door silently, waiting to either be allowed to enter or to be yelled at to leave. Chances were it would be the second one, she didn't feel welcome here, but she had to tell Brianne what was going on, or at the very least find out if anyone was in the safe house. If they were she would leave here where she wasn't welcome and tell whoever was at the safe house, that it was no longer safe.
"Neither of you are in good enough shape for this. Stop pretending you are. So both of you are going to listen to me now. I don't know what sort of trouble you all feel like you are in but I am not in trouble. I will take you to my friends house and he will help you out. Meanwhile I will go find what happened to my brother. I am a capable fighter if need be, but few dare mess with my family because they know if they do, when my father gets home the world of hell they will be in. Now follow me. You can't very well meet at a safe house if you don't know where it is." Matilda took charge. She had seen both of their wounds. Seth should barely be using his hand, and Tessa shouldn't be doing any movements that might strain her back and stitches. Matilda then took the lead as she moved forward not looking back to see if they followed. Well that was something unexpected from Matilda. She generally seemed really quiet and now she was taking lead, telling them what to do. It was surprising. "We will figure it out when we get there I suppose. I don't think Matilda is planning to wait for us to discuss it now." Seth spoke to the other two, shaking his head slightly. He waited a moment to let Matilda get a little further ahead before glancing at the other two again. "Do we dare tell her." He whispered. She made it clear she didn't know what was going on so they could either leave her in the dark, making this more difficult on her, or tell her and possibly put themselves in more danger, but he wanted to see what the others thought. "Blame the Crow? What does he have to do with this?" Keenan asked as he ran his fingers through his short stubbly hair. "I am getting the feeling this isn't just a normal contract." He commented, not really expecting Veera to answer him. She hadn't been telling him much and he learned to accept that. More information would be helpful, but it wasn't the end of the world if he didn't get it. That didn't hinder his ability to fight, just to be ready for the fights to come. Adjusting his bow on his shoulder, Keenan walked forward, not asking anything else, instead trying to take the small pieces that he had heard of information so far and start to try and piece together what might have happened.
The screams of dying men echoed through the vehicle, and thanks to some of those dying men, Rose lived. The projectiles thrown by Teliana didn't hit her but instead hit those around and the wall that the chains were attached to. One man had survived the on slaughter in bad shape and was now heading her way, though what he didn't know was that she was essentially free. While he slowly made his way closer, Rose gave a couple sharp tugs on her chain as they creaked and freed themselves from the holds. She still had them bound around her ankles and wrists, but she could move now. As the guard crawled towards her, she stood over him. When he got closer she made quick work of stomping down on his wrist, shattering it and causing him to let go of the knife. Rose bent down and scooped it up as she began to twirl it in her hand. "This is weighted wrong and horribly made. How do you use such weapons?" Rose contemplated. "Though it is sharp, perfect for..." As Rose trailed off she brought the knife down into the mans neck. It was as she did this that she heard Teliana call for her and a robot pick her up. "Shit" She cursed knowing she could just leave the girl. Rose quickly grabbed a few more weapons off of the dead guards, grabbed the key to unlock her shackles and then stepped out of the vehicle. Her one hand was still in too bad of a shape to use at the moment, but that wouldn't stop her. It would be usable later, she was confident in that, it just needed a little work healing. One handed or not Rose was still going to fight and help Taliana after she nearly killed herself to get her out. "And where do you think you are going dear sister?" Aster asked as Rose stepped out of the vehicle. He sat tall on his horse, lance at the ready. "I would suggest you get back in their before I go through with killing you this time. Last time I gave the order not to, but you won't be so lucky now." Aster gave Rose one chance, one the girl didn't take. "Like I would really stay captive to the likes of you. I am not nearly as weak as you or mom, or even dad. And don't expect any mercy from me." Rose retorted. Aster kicked his horse forward to charge at Rose, but she was too quick for that, rolling as he got close she avoided his lance and cut at the horses front legs. A moment later she was greeted with a satisfied whinny of a distressed horse and a thud as the horse fell forward and Aster rolled off. Aster had not expected quite a move like that from his sister but he was soon back on his feet and ready to fight. He jumped high in the air and brought his lance down at the earth for an impact strike, but the assassin was quicker than he was, already in a position to hit his lance off course before it could hit the ground. He knew that his sister was good but he had not expected her to be quite this good. As his feet hit the ground he found himself falling, as Rose had swept her leg around to knock his feet out from under him. He was now flat on his back looking up at his sister. "That was a little too boring. I will do you a favour and allow you to fight me again sometime. Hopefully you will be stronger and do our family name at least some justice next time." Rose spoke. Up to that point her shoe was crushing his neck but now she dropped down closer to his face, gave him a wicked grin, and the smashed his head with the hilt, knocking him cold. After that she took her blade and carved a stem with a few thorns up his arm. "Just a reminder for next time." She whispered before turning and walking away, but not before blending in with what was around her. It took her longer than she would have wanted to get away from her brother, she only hoped that Teliana was still alive. It wasn't that Rose cared for the girl, but she did sort of owe her for saving her. At least Rose could try and help her. The tracks of a robot were ones that were not hard to follow. As Rose neared she had a blade at the ready just in case. When she reached Ana however, to her surprise there was no one else there. "You are a bloody idiot, you know that?" Rose mumbled as she ripped up pieces of the girls own shirt to wrap the bigger wounds. "It isn't safe to try to get you back towards the ship yet, but I will get you there as soon as it is. Your job is to keep breathing. Though with the amount of guts you have I am sure that won't be a problem."
Roxanne had found herself in a very uncomfortable position, very fast. Not only had Rhett told her that when she spoke to Brianne, she might now be allowed in the same room, but also she found a knife to her throat. Roxanne could understand the unarmed thing. She knew she seemed like a bit much to people who didn't know her, and it wasn't like she was armed in the first place, but she couldn't even speak to her in the same room? They were all acting like she was the criminal right now. Like she was here to murder Brianne, not warn her. Roxanne didn't try to move as a second blade was held to her gut. She didn't much care for Clarity's words, and as such didn't bother responding to them. Nothing she could say would change anyone's minds, she knew this already. She was called a simple girl, a term she was not pleased with, but instead of reacting, as soon as the knives were taken away, Roxanne left. She couldn't do anything now to talk to Brianne, not while she wasn't even there, and sticking around too close to that girl would only end up with one of them dead, and given Roxanne lacked her Stele and any other form of weapons, she was out of luck there. One thing that Clarity had suggested sounded appealing though. Earlier she advised Roxanne to take a shower, and a bath did sound very good. Despite the discomfort from all the werewolves around, Roxanne still found her way though the institute and locked herself into the bathroom. Lowering herself into the tub, Roxanne found herself examining the various wounds on her body. There were very small cuts on her body from the thorns pressed against her skin. She could feel the sing from Clarity's blade against her throat, but to Roxanne's surprise, there were no bruises on her legs. Despite the pain she had been through there was no visible mark. She supposed it was how runes worked, but the invisible pain was almost worse then the bruises and marks you could see. As she sat in the tub, for once instead of going into hysteria or having a panic attack. Instead of shaking or screaming, she just cried. She let everything that she was worried about out in a more humane manner, but in a manner that she hated other people seeing. Roxanne felt bad for being there, thinking the Seelie Queen might send people after her and then she would have lead them straight to Brianne. But she had to tell Brianne to hide before she could face whatever fate came to her. That is why she stayed. That was why she was here crying into the bath instead of running. She would save her friends, somehow. Finally Rhett returned with an awkward apology. "Don't worry about it." She waved him off, not too worried how long things took. It was none of her business after all. As he spoke about the situation though Felicia rose to her feet and looked Rhett dead in the eye. "Do you really think I am going to run tail between my legs? If there is going to be a blood bath then I will not allow you guys to endure it alone. We agreed for now we will work together, my pack and yours, so I am not running now. I am not some coward. Besides when Grayson was still around most of our packs were together under one, they were friends. I will not deny mine the right to help their friends. But if they choose to go and find safety, then they are allowed to do that as well. But hear me Rhett, I am not the type to stand on the side lines as others get slaughtered so I can rule the ashes. One day I will be Alpha of New York, alpha of all the wolves here, and it won't be because I watched others fall and build up the scraps. It will be because I worked at it, standing on the front likes with them. I will earn it fair and square." She told the man. She was slightly shorter than him, but not by much, she could still stick a knife through his eye easy enough it the need arose. She didn't expect it to, but the possibility was always there. "Now then mister big alpha will you at least have the courage to look me back in the eye or will you just walk off again?" She asked him.
The woman in the door stopped her, not allowing her though. Roxanne did not understand the situation, she did not understand why the distress was a much worse thing now, but what she did understand was that numerous people wanted her dead and she had to warn Brianne. "You don't understand! You have to let me talk to her! It is urgent! Don't you understand! I have to warn her before she finds out and kills me!" Roxanne screamed at Clarity. She hadn't made a move yet, mostly because her hands where trembling too bad, but it did tempt her, regardless of Clarity's threats. Anything to get to Brianne and make her listen. Roxanne caught a little of what Brianne was saying over Clarity's shoulder. The wording that Brianne chose to use was hard on her. She wasn't quite sure how to handle it. Roxanne fell deadly silent as Brianne went to leave. She couldn't tell her what she needed to know and it very well could be the end of her, and Roxanne would have no one to blame but herself. "Please... They are going to kill you. The old man himself wants you dead. Don't go off on your own." Roxanne's voice dropped to a whisper, not ready to yell that out at Brianne. She just wanted to talk to Brianne nicely and explain, it was not the type of thing that you yell over a shoulder. On top of that Roxanne's throat hurt and the bruises she had on her neck from being strangled began to bother her. Her eyes looked blank as she just looked ahead, a feeling of dread for both her and Brianne swept over her. "So at least I know it wasn't a mistake to let her in. I assumed by her calling it her home and calling the one that runs it by name, she was no stranger that didn't belong here, and with the amount of wolves around even if she did try something it wouldn't end well for her. But still it gives me slight peace of mind." Felicia murmured. She felt better with the assurance that she had made the right choice. Being such a new leader, she always second guessed her actions, though she was learning she couldn't afford to. No matter how many lessons she had been through, these kinds of things weren't learned by talking or practicing. They were learned by experience. She had to experience it herself before she could fully grasp what her master had trained her to be. Felicia was starting to grow impatient with how long Rhett was taking to return, but once she heard the screams of the girl she allowed in down the hall, she supposed he might be wrapped up for a moment longer. Felicia considered going down to check it out, to help, but there was no need, all it would bring was to crowd the area more. So instead Felicia just tried to tune it out. "Wonder how she got looking so horrible. From her reactions I guess nothing good. Lets hope whatever did that to her isn't coming for us next." She said with a sigh.
"Veera I know that I have no obligation to be here. That isn't way I am here. I am here to see someone I only get to be around once a year to visit with. Watch how they have grown and help if I can. You speak of a mage with an army of undead, do you really think I will let you go in alone? I now that you are a great fighter. You are one of the best witchers I have seen of your time, there is no doubt about that. But even the best could use help sometimes. One against an army doesn't seem like good odds. I know you don't like me too much, but that won't stop me from going along and not leaving you to whatever fate the gods want to deal to you." Keenan told the woman. Whether they were the right words or not he didn't know. Honestly he never knew what to do with the girl. Ever since they brought her to Kaer he didn't know what to do with her. He could make friends with the other kids, give them a older witcher to talk to when Veceslav was being too tough on them. He knew why and he admired The Crow for it, but since he was only there for short amount of times he let himself give those small pieces of himself to the kids. Especially if they showed promise and even more so when they passed the trials. However trying to be that friend never had worked with Veera and he was kind of lost how to deal with her. Derrick was easy enough to make friends with. After Veceslav taught him Axii, Keenan had found him practicing one day and gave him a few idea of who to practice on and prank with it. He had to run 5 laps of the gauntlet after that little stunt. Aaron had a soft heart and just wanted someone to talk to or show him the nicer side of the world. Veera however he never figured out what the trick to get on her good side was. Perhaps there was none but that didn't mean he wouldn't look after her. He believed all witchers family. He wouldn't turn his back on family. "I really don't give a damn." Talon responded to Xross's little rant. His head was pounding, he so didn't need this. He just kept holding onto hope that Xross would get bored and leave him alone soon. He was trying not to show much emotion in his responses for that reason. Talon did his best to just relax slightly, perhaps that would help his headache. Seth had noticed that Tessa didn't follow as close after as he thought that she would, but he chose not to say anything on that matter, instead just focus on what was at hand. He didn't know what Tessa was referring to when she said that they needed the mans help, but chances were, when they got to a safe place all would be explained, and if it wasn't he would ask. A protector of sorts. "I don't think a protector is that necessary but if you insist. My brother has a friend near here. We can go to his place and he will house us. He will even help you out of the city if you need, but I don't understand why you are in such a rush. Yes it is horrible thing that is happening and I wish I could stop it but that doesn't mean you need to flee the city over it." Matilda commented, her voice on the quiet side. She was getting uneasy because things seemed to be getting further away from finding her brother. "I will lead you to my brothers friends house, but I can't stay for long. I am sorry. I have to find Talon." She told them. They had no obligation to help her so she wouldn't ask but she wasn't going to sit around inside while her brother was missing. "You don't have to tell me about your past if you don't want to, you shared plenty about Kadia already. Though if you want to I would always be happy to listen." She told Sweallow. Since she was so unsure about talking about her own past, she didn't want Sweallow to feel like he had to talk about his. She had already dragged enough information out of him about his little crush that she couldn't ask for any more. She would let him stay quiet if that was what he wished. But if he felt like sharing, she would like to hear other peoples stories, hopefully theirs better than her own.
Yvette had flown them to their destination in a time that felt all too fast for her. There had not been enough time to enjoy the feeling of flying, but a job was a job, and it kept people from realizing her importance in her own planet. She would take what she could get in the end. "Yes Ma'am." Yvette replied to the command to hold their position. Yvette worked fast to out them in a place of stasis but have it ready to fly as soon as needed. The task was routine enough but still not as easy as it sounded. With a large ship like this, starting and stopping the ship was not an instantaneous thing. She just had to make sure she could move it as quick as possible when the time came. There was a question about where her co-pilot was and a frown crossed her face for the first time since stepping foot on the ship. She had not even thought about that. So often she would be flying smaller ships by herself she didn't think about the fact that there should be one. "I am unsure Ma'am." She responded to her commander, knowing that whether she had an answer or not, acknowledging the question was necessary. It seemed the woman was calling for him now though, that was good... she supposed. She was not a fan of having to share here job with someone else, she would rather do it all herself, but she knew what was necessary She would just do what she had to. If this was what made everyone feel more safe then that is what she would do. She had to remind herself on occasion that now, here she should take orders and not question them. That was her job.
As Roxanne neared the institute, there was something off. The building seemed to be in worse shape than when she had left it earlier, and people that she did not recognize were patrolling the grounds. Against her better instinct, Roxanne continued forward to figure out what was going on. She wanted to just use her stele and draw an invisibility rune on herself, but she didn't even have that with her. Corvo had taken any way she had to defend herself. The Seelie Queen wanted to kill Brianne and was holding her life as a hostage and yet still he had told her to leave and hadn't given her a single thing to protect herself with. She supposed she just had to try and talk her way though it. If these werewolves decided to kill her, they would probably quickly find themselves on a hit list. On top of that, it would probably be a more merciful death than would be given if Corvo failed his task. Roxanne approached the institute doors, and to her surprise, no one had stopped her. She opened the door and soon discovered why she had not been stopped from going inside. The inside was filled with people and wolves milling about, most turning to look at her. However the one that stared at her from the stairs raised her hand and a good portion stopped what they were doing and just sat there. Chances were that she was the alpha of this little pack. "What business do you have here, girl?" Felicia eyed Roxanne as she entered. She looked to be in horrible shape and she seemed to have been crying a short while ago. Who was this person and why would they openly just walk into a building when werewolves were patrolling it. It was suspicious, but she would give the girl a chance to talk. If she was running in here in such a shape, there had to be a reason and if it was something to do with the Nephilim, she had no right to deny her that. "Why are you in my home! Where is Brianne! If you hurt her I will KILL you!" Roxanne started to scream at the girl, her hysteria only getting worse. She feared that it might be too late, that everyone might be dead already. She feared the Clave had someone else carry out the task and now these people just took over the building as a place to stay. "Woah calm down. Your home? You are a shadow hunter then. One of your friends is in the room towards the back there, the rest have left." Felicia told Roxanne remaining calm since this girl clearly couldn't. "Go see her if you wish. The others in the building won't touch you unless I or another commands it, but I don't see that happening." Felicia told Roxanne as she gestured for Roxanne to go find Brianne. The girl didn't need encouragement to leave. She found herself running down the hall towards the room. She stopped when she saw an ifrit standing in the doorway. She recognized the girl, just barely as a friend of Brianne. "I need to see Brianne now. Please! It is urgent. Let me in!" Roxanne begged. There was a slight tremble to her hand but she kept herself as pulled together as she could possibly manage given the situation. "You claim to know Brianne. So do you know who that was?" Felicia asked Creed, curious about the girl. Who she was and what her problem was. She didn't expect the boy to know all of Brianne's friends but perhaps she could get some sort of answers. If she didn't, well a freaked out Nephilim was not her problem in the end.
Did female witchers even get periods? Keenan had never bothered to seek the answer to that. Given they couldn't have children the answer was probably no, but could there still be some instinct in their minds telling them to be grumpy once a month for a while. Possibly. It made sense in a way, the only explanation he could figure out. He had a bad feeling something else happened too but there had to be a reason she was so caught up on the touching her thing. Seriously it was one small act meant in a friendly manner. How was it that bad? He could try apologizing again, but knowing Veera it probably wouldn't help. He could change the subject back to what was going on here but she ignored his questions last two times he asked. That left him with little choice. He decided to remain silent as he followed Veera through the streets, searching for evidence of what had happened here. A woman soon approached them asking questions about what happened. This time Veera did answer giving him some idea what was going on. So why would she answer some strangers questions and not his. Perhaps it was a women thing, or perhaps she was just so fed up with him that she wouldn't talk to him. Seriously why was someone that hung up on something. Keenan shook his head and didn't even try to question it, instead choosing to focus on what was going on. Apparently there was a mage with an army of undead that had most likely been through here. Given how empty the city was chances were the army had recently grown. "We should keep moving. We can talk while we move, but it is never smart to stay in one place for two long not with what you seem to be saying has been happening." Keenan's tone was low as his eyes scanned the area around making sure none of that undead army were around preparing an attack. Witchers or not, no matter what their fighting skills were there was always a limit to how much they could handle at once so it was best to keep themselves aware of what was going on around them and ready for anything. He didn't know how big this undead army was but it worried him slightly, they would have to be careful. "I know you aren't a child but that doesn't change the fact it isn't safe to just run off like that." Seth replied. He didn't have time for this argument. "Whether or not Matilda can find safety on her own isn't the point. We promised to help her, we could at least have the courtesy to tell her where we are going before we just up and leave. At least tell her we can't help anymore if that is necessary. You don't just run away from someone, disappearing into a crowd and never return." Seth found himself almost scolding Tessa. It wasn't that he cared for Matilda overly much, but looking at her she was still young and given what was going on and the fact her brother was missing too, he almost pitied her. They couldn't just leave her in the crowd wondering where they went as well, not when she put so much effort into helping them. Seth decided to take lead as he pushed his way through the crowd searching for the young woman. He hoped that they would find her fast and then they could get going. Tessa wanted to leave the square and so did he. He didn't need to see any more of their kind die. He searched the crowd until he spotted a young girl in the distance holding a young blonde boy, hiding his face. Bingo. Seth pushed his way through the crowd even fast now as he got closer to him. "Come we must leave now." He instructed. As Seth approached she gave him a nod. "I agree." She said softly. She had to get Gregory somewhere that he didn't have to see the death then they would find Talon. The young woman did not realize what her new friends were so she did not quite get their urgency. Her eyes rested on the man with numerous swords. She paused for a moment. "Who are you?" She asked quietly. So many weapons made her a little nervous. Was he a secret guard? Were they in trouble? She didn't quite know but she held onto her brother slightly tighter waiting for some answers. Talon grimaced, wild accusations or not it made him uncomfortable. "No there isn't." It was only partly a lie. For the most part woman did not take over the roll as head of the house or business, not saying that Matilda was not capable, but she did have too kind of a heart for it. Then there was Greg, and he was far to young to even consider it yet. "I don't plan to die any time soon, but you seem to be asking for it. Don't you have a job, or friends or something to do, somewhere to be? Is your life really that sad that all you have to do with your day is bother whatever random people happen to cross your path." The question asked by Sweallow was the last things she wanted to be asked. There was no way she could share the truth of what she did before, but from the top of her head she could not think of a cover story that would sound convincing enough. "Well... I was a soldier I guess you could say. As a powerful mage I was brought in to fight in many wars." She told Sweallow. It was close to the truth but she never fought as a soldier or on one side. She fought for the dark underground groups that added to the chaos and killed important people of both sides. They would ruin towns and blame one side. They would sabotage weapons and blame the other. They fought in the wars only to push them to be more destructive. She couldn't even remember why she did it to be honest, she just would do it because she was asked to. It was the sad truth of her life and she didn't want to explain that part, so her explanation she hoped would do. If Sweallow found out what she truly was, he probably would stop helping her.
"We will not tempt fate. Quiet is good. After the events of two years ago we are still building our society to the strength my father ran it at. We will take this as the blessing it is." Amber told Veera. As Veera said, they didn't want to tempt the gods. "Still no new recruits yet? We don't have much for a new generation do we. We will need to figure something out before our forces thin." Amber rubbed her face in her hands. The closest thing they currently had for a new generation were Zack and Adelina's newborns and even if they did become scouts that was only two, not that she wished the life on the precious little fairy kids. Given that Fairies were generally built weaker with a more gentle soul, it wasn't the kind of work that they would be cut out for, unless of course they were to take after their father. Then there was the amount of teens in the town getting ready to start their service to the city. The numbers were low there too, but it would be helpful. "I honestly don't know how he did it. I don't know how my father seemed to always having this place running smoothly. I swear it isn't possible." Amber said being brutally honest with Veera. "You are dismissed." Amber told Veera with a sigh. She then turned to Kala. "Would you like to take a seat? I just need to talk, as a friend not a queen. I just want things to be like the old days you know." Amber said to Kala. She almost hated Kala being her guard, because she felt like she should be formal and professional around the girl, but all she wanted was her old friend back, like back when her father was alive and she was still the reckless princess. She didn't want all this. As Zack pulled her towards him, Adelina leaned down and kissed Zack on the head. "They are fine. I made sure of it. And I am right here to keep an eye on them. You know they can't always be in their beds or my arms." Adelina stated as she watched her kids lay happily on the floor. "As for the plans for today I figured we could feed and burp Zarron and Zelina and then take them for a walk to put them to sleep. While they nap we have a good three hours before they will be crying for me again. Perhaps Tessa would like a visit and mommy and daddy can have some quiet alone time. It feels like we never get that anymore. And if not I will take a nap. I could use it." Adelina explained her thoughts to Zack. Between his work and her being busy with the babies they never got to simply spend time together like they used to. She missed that, and although she felt bad for asking Tessa to babysit, she knew that their friend loved the kids and would probably agree. It would just be for this once, she told herself. She wouldn't ask again for a while but for today they had a chance to properly be together and Adelina wanted to take it. "Says the man that doesn't actually fight but stands there and freaks people out with his mind." Koldo replied to Wilkin's comment about him needing exercise. Though comments like that didn't bother Koldo much, not when they were so close to progressing with the plan. And thankfully his intern and Damian decided to join them right around that time. "Good you look worse for wear, it is perfect. Shall we get started then?" Koldo asked as he strolled over to Lexander and put one of the boys arms over his shoulder. "Damian grab his other arm and help me drag him along. Wilkin you go a little ahead and search for help. If you all play your parts well, this should go smoothly, and if you don't, lets say interns face would be the prettier right now then any of you when I am through." Koldo threatened as he started forward. Soon, very soon they would get into the city and be able to figure out who was strong and who was weak. Who needed to be assassinated and who would fall in the mass murder. It was all coming soon, very soon.
Corvo's yelling didn't help Roxanne at all, she shook harder as he did. She covered her head and tore at her hair, however she did try to keep quieter. She feared for her life right now and was not going to do anything to make the man more angry if she could help it. Even while having a break down she recognized how stupid that would be. Corvo's pacing made it incredibly hard to calm herself and keep herself quiet. She was relieved when Corvo told her to go. Roxanne took the command openly and grabbed her phone before running out into the streets of New York. She had to get to Brianne. She had to warn Brianne. The Clave, the Seelie Queen, they both wanted her dead. She couldn't let that happen. She couldn't let them go through with killing her. Roxanne had no hope of stopping Corvo and she had no weapons. She needed weapons. She had to do something. Roxanne started on her way towards the Institute. She could find weapons there and then she could find her way to the safe house and warn Brianne. The girl was still a sobbing mess, but she started to run as fast as she could to the place that could be considered her only place of safety right now. "I am sure you would like nothing more then to harm me. Too bad that doctor of yours has you on such a short leash. Woof woof bitch." Slavko said before entering the room and standing around idly waiting for the doctor to come back or the Black Knight to do something. He just hoped that they wouldn't keep him waiting long.
