Seeing the world around him grow, Beuce gave a high pitched sigh of disappointment. He knew it was bound to happen eventually, but that didn't make it any less inconvenient. So, making the best use of the time in which his stature and offensive capabilities were limited, Beuce aimed his key-rifle at the fiery heartless. He took a deep breath and concentrated. Space began to distort itself between his line of vision and his target. Whatever attack he used next was certain to hit the most optimal location it possibly could. Beuce used Magnify
Beuce used Curaga on Stratos
A little baffled at why his Ice attack didn't seem to quite pack the punch he was expecting, the wielder shrugged it off and took note for next time. Now, Beuce, being the good and helpful person he was, decided there was no better way to help the team than with a summon! And so, he gathered up his magic and called forth one of the most powerful summons he could. Though, whether or not this was a good thing was up for debate. A new smoke began to fill the air, but it wasn't black and filled with ash like the ones from the flames. This smoke was purple. And on the largest billow of it, two eyes and a toothy grin appeared. The smoke cleared to reveal this belonged to a cat. More specifically, the head of a cat with its decapitated body standing atop it. "Been a while, hasn't it?" The cat said to his summoner who looked at it with a tad bit of distaste. "Not long enough..."
Beuce looked at his allies as they battled the two heartless of opposed elements. Stratos, though it may not have been the strongest thing he could do, was pelting the ice-themed one with fire. Most would see this as simply exploiting the elemental weakness of the creature, but Beuce knew what was really up. He was trying to obtain the same power he was using. That kid was really something. He drew in everything around him and made it his own. Though all the different colors he'd taken in were muddled and sloppy looking at first, eventually they would come together and mix properly to make the purest black. Stratos had gotten off to a rough start, but God help No Heart when he reach his full potential. Breaking himself out of his thought, Beuce fired a buckshot of ice at the fire themed heartless. Beuce used Blizzara
Beuce glared at the insane man at the top of Notre Dame. "Well, I might not be a god, but I'm the host for five so I'd say that makes me qualified to judge that fruitcake." He said out loud to no one in particular. Before that though, he turned to the heartless in front of him. He saw no reason not to go all out from the starting line, so he charged up his gun with a brilliant light energy. With each shot he fired, a brilliant pillar of light emerged at the fire lord. Though they passed over it, as it was not a solid force, the heartless didn't seem at all undamaged. "This shouldn't be too hard if we keep it up. Keep going!" He called out to his allies, though two of them were unable to hear him. "Uh...Telephone that for me, would ya?" Beuce used Faith
At first it was small, an unnoticed change in the large warehouse filled with combat. A small page floated through the air and levitated around the center of the room. Then another followed, and another. Soon, there was a whirlwind of paper that joined together, bound by a black leather spine which fabricated itself from nothing when all the pages were assembled. It was an unpleasant sound to say the least, and grated on the ears of those who heard it. It wasn't long before it was revealed what this book was. When it took it's human form, it was reveal that it was a weapon. A woman dressed entirely in black, a blindfold tied tight around her eyes. She turned her head toward the people with knives, and touched her hand to her arm. Where she touched, skin turned to paper and lifted up, though leaving no less of the woman behind than had been there before. When it inevitably reached her, It pierced her heart, and the woman's entire body erupted into fire as she burned away to nothing. A gunshot was fired, and a bullet lay harmless on the ground beneath the woman, having been deflected by another sheet of paper. She turned in the direction of the sniper, and space began to contort itself between the two, while expanding behind him. With neither of them moving, he stood in front of her, a helpless expression on his face. She pulled out several other pages, but they did not go toward the man. Luther paced from one end of the room to the other to pass the time. As of yet, he hadn't tried to make conversation with any of the people here. They all seemed pretty shady. Well, to be honest, so did he. Anyone wearing a long black coat with their hood up would look shady. Instead they simply stood around and waited for the man who recruited them all to return. When finally they heard footsteps in the distance, he turned toward the door, as did the others. Sure enough, Lea entered along with a black haired girl. She looked like she was in a perpetual state of waking up on the wrong side of the bed, so he didn't care much to associate with her. "Well, Old Timer. Now that you're back, would you care to explain further about what it is precisely that we're to be doing?" He asked, addressing their red-haired leader about their current task at hand.
As Beuce continued to channel more of his magical power into another golem, it became increasingly more apparent by the crest which had been emblazoned on the ground that it was to be a different kind. This time, the crest began to shine with a bright yellow light, with waves of blue running through it. As the crest finished charging, Beuce called out the name of the spell he'd been casting. "Balloongolem!" A rather odd looking golem rose up from the ground. It was made of a similar yellow light with waves of blue, yet it seemed to be comprised entirely of spheres of the stuff merged together into a humanoid shape. This one looked far less intimidating than the frozen construct which was currently ripping heartless apart left and right. This one seemed to take a more supportive role, as it walked over to Stratos. It placed one of its balloony fingers on the wielder's head and it popped, showering him with a watery light and began to heal him. Closing wounds, repairing burns, and so forth. Meanwhile, Steel had finally seemed to join the fight. He'd cast quite the powerful stop spell, beyond Beuce's current abilities, and frozen several of the fire using heartless in time. Taking advantage of the fact they were wide open for another attack, Steel let loose a barrage of lightning bolts onto the defenseless heartless and blew them away. Beuce looked at the situation around them. Between his two companions and the Blizzagolem, there wasn't much question they could deal with the few remaining heartless. The Balloongolem and Jax would keep them in top shape between the healing and items. That only left...The flames. Firstly, he had to do something about the smoke reducing visibility so much. He poured magical energy into another emblem on the ground, and this time it rose up in a violent whirlwind. "Aerogolem!" He called out, commanding the construct to rise. The resulting creature was the least solid so far, as it was a collection of spiraling wind that simply flew through the air. It bestowed Stratos additional support in the form of a wind barrier. Unlike the normal aero spell, it didn't seem to so much block damage as it increased the boy's natural ability to do so. After which, it took to the skies and began clearing as much smoke as it was able. He considered creating another golem, but the method of creating a watergolem eluded him. It was then it occurred to him. The golems weren't the only things he could summon to help him. Drawing forth his magical power to call on an ally from another world, he fired a sphere of light up into the air which took on a more elliptical shape. From it, a familiar grey skinned pachyderm flew down to Beuce. He patted Dumbo on the trunk as it splashed him affectionately with water. He climbed on the elephant's back and they took to the air. Now that the heartless were by and large eliminated, the flames were spreading much less rapidly. As the pair flew systematically over each fire, the let loose a spray of water onto the burning city in an attempt to douse the flames faster than they could spread. Though, one thing that did surprise him was that now Dumbo's water was also replenishing his mana. It appeared that now his summons were sustaining him, allowing him to call out more summons. This was proving to be an interesting job. Continuing to spray water on the buildings Beuce look to Stratos and the golems to watch the end of the fight. While Stratos defended the cathedral from the incoming inferno, Beuce seemed to be in an almost trance like state of concentration. He seemed to be trying to do something fairly complex. He'd never actually done it before, but he remembered what it looked like. He remembered the power of one of the best mages he'd ever seen, and she was only twelve. "Well, If some kid can do it, then so can I." He said to no one in particular. Crouching, Beuce put his hands against the ground, and magic began to swell all around him, coalescing into an emblazoned emblem on the ground. The crest began to chill with power and froze over, despite the intense heat surrounding the area. With one final push of magic, the spell was complete. "Blizzagolem!" As the name of the spell was called out, Beuce burst into light, indicating another job change. His appearance this time was clearly that of a mage. His clothes had now become a deep blue robe, and strips of crimson cloth floated and twined around him. A silver chain wrapped around his right arm, leading up to and connecting with his hood. Though, the garment change was far from the most noticeable thing if one were to look in his direction. Rather, he was obscured by an enormous animate beast of pure white ice towering over Beuce. It stood nearly three times his height, and was incredibly bulky. Though nearly featureless, it was clearly humanoid in shape. One of its hands was not a hand, but a large spike leading off of its arm, while the other hand contained only two broad fingers and a thumb about the size of Beuce's arm. It wasn't far off of identical to Mizu's golems. "Ha...Haha! I pulled it off!" Beuce said with excitement. This was a milestone in his progression as a mage. As he pointed in the direction of some red nocturnes that were heading toward the boy who was ripping through their numbers, and had defended the cathedral from their assault. The ground shook as the golem's thundering stomps moved toward the fire casting heartless. It raised its fingered hand and let loose an incredible barrage of icy shards. Each one impaled the heartless and destroyed it instantaneously. What was even more incredible was the efficiency of this in regards to the golem's master. Once each spike had done its job, it melted away and dissolved into pure energy, and traveled back to Beuce. With each dose, he could feel his mana returning to him. "Wow~! That's so cool, Kupo!" A new voice said from behind Beuce. Taken by surprise, he turned to see what appeared to be a toy. Upon closer inspection, he discovered it was no such thing. "You're...that moogle from Mizrabel's castle." Beuce said, the memory of this thing coming back to him. "That's right, Kupo! My name is Jax! No time to explain things. In any case, i'm here to help! I'm not much of a fighter, but us moogles are good at synthesis." Jax looked at the situation, and pulled out some ingredients. Beuce, not exactly being an expert on the subject of item creation, had no idea what they were. Though in a seemingly magical process, the moogle combined the things together and bottled them up. As Beuce took the resulting item in his hands, he look at it in surprise. "It's an ether." He stated. "Well, yeah! You guys are low on magic from before! This will help you get it back, Kupo! That was nothing. Imagine if i had a real crafting station." The moogle said with a small laugh. Beuce turned on his heels and called out to the wielder by the church. "Stratos! Catch!" He hurled the bottle with all his might, straight toward the boy. As if to confirm that it was still there, he looked over that the hulking creation of ice he'd spawned. It was, in fact, still destroying the heartless left and right. It slammed its spiked hand down on the hat wearing mage heartless unlucky enough to be standing in its path. The thing was crushed instantly beneath the weight of the blow. Despite the fact that it was made of ice and standing in the middle of a burning city, the golem had not started to melt. There was no sheen of water on the exterior of it reflecting the light. This was made of stronger stuff. Beuce muttered in amazement, and had a newfound respect for Mizu. To master this kind of power at such a young age was nothing short of incredible. It was then that a thought occurred to him. If he could do this...Beuce put his hands against the ground and began to channel his magic which was being returned to him by the blizzagolem's spells. Beuce was panting slightly as they arrived at the cathedral. Using so many spells had been relatively taxing, not to mention it was kind of a long walk.Nonetheless, they'd managed to get him there. While the wielders of the underground were catching their breath, something very peculiar happened. There were a trio of gargoyles speaking to one another. Living stone. The two pairs of three seemed to each be just as confused as the other about the fact that the other was able to see them. He gave a small wave to the odd constructs as Stratos did the talking. There wasn't really much of a need to restate what he'd just said. Even if it would increase the amount of words in the post to the amount which was needed to maximize experience gain. No not like this. what are you talking about? Their respite, however, came to an abrupt end as smoke began filling the air. He looked around for the source of it and saw that heartless were setting the city ablaze by throwing orbs of fire around. While each individual heartless wasn't particularly threatening, their numbers may prove to be a little bit of a challenge. Stratos was the first one to leap into action, taking out heartless left and right. Beuce ran over to the flames and held out his hand. From it, several spheres of water were conjured forth and doused the flames. While it was hardly all they needed to fix the problem, it helped to slow the progression of the flames. He moved onward to the next building and attempted to do the same, but nothing came out. It was then he remembered that the energy that fueled his magic was used almost entirely to guide Phoebus back to the church, in not a dissimilar manner to the way Stratos had. With a heavy sight, Beuce clicked his heel against the ground and a bolt of energy propelled him forward on a line of energy. Though he was moving at high speeds, Beuce's aim didn't seem to be any less deadly accurate. One shot after another plowed right into the heartless. While they weren't taken out by single shots, he simply kept firing until they died, never missing once. Every few shots, the barrel would glow and unleash a flurry of magical bolts onto the target unlucky enough to be the correct numbered target. Once his Power Line ended, he plopped down onto the ground next to Stratos. "Damn, you've really been tearing into these things. Have you...gotten strongwer..? I don't just mean like better at fighting, I mean like literally more jacked." He asked, holding up his left arm as though flexing a muscle to show off strength. One thing Beuce had definitely noticed about the boy's fighting was that his attacks had begun to have a huge amount more punch behind them. Holding out his arm and aiming his gun toward a cluster, five lights spiraled together into a single orb in front of the gun, and Beuce pulled the trigger. Far faster than any other shot, it fired out and destroyed one of the red nocturnes before ricocheting to another, and another, and another. Five were taken out by the attack, but if one had blinked they may well have missed the entire thing. "Damn. This smoke is starting to get pretty thick. I won't be able to maintain my aim for long." A light collected around Beuce, and was gently released as he returned to his base state, taking a moment to consider what exactly should be done for his next course of action. Beuce chuckled as Stratos noted his new job change. "Well, you could say that. I've actually been able to do it for a while, I just didn't get the opportunity. Remember when we were fighting Mortimer and I kept using fira? Well i didn't just have a lapse in sanity. It felt like every time I used it, I got closer to this. You know, if you do that against a particularly strong enemy, you could probably do it too." He said, rotating the mine spell with him. It was a draining activity to say the least, but they could probably manage. He shook his head once steel suggested that they use fire to guide him. "I wish it were that easy. I don't think he can see our spells, so much as they effect they have on the world. Though, you are onto something. Now that we've already got his attention, we could tone it down to lower tier spells to save on energy."

Beuce looked down at the guard captain washed up on the river. After watching that display, he any doubt that Frollo was the monster in question was banished from his mind, and he was growing increasingly convinced that Phoebus was the man. But right now, it didn't matter. Even if he had nothing to do with their mission, he couldn't very well just leave him there. Beuce summoned Lofty Grasp and waved it over the guard captain's body. A small bundle of flowers grew from nothing above the captain as they shed the highest quality of healing light, but it left him just as injured as he had been before. "I guess we can't use magic on him because we're in the underground..." While this was slightly annoying, Beuce didn't waste any time before moving on from the idea. He walked up to just in front of captain Phoebus and slashed what would ordinarily be a rather deep cut into the ground in front of him. Instead it only looked like someone lightly kicked the dirt to fling it up a little bit. Phoebus turned his attention to it though. That was good enough for him. "We might not be able to use magic on you, but..." Beuce began to glow in a familiar red and blue light. It clung tightly to his skin, until finally it burst outward, leaving him in a new outfit. One which no one had ever seen. He looked slightly reminiscent of a cowboy. His cape had now become a dark blue poncho, with his outfit now having much more of a western feel. Where his keyblade no longer was, he instead toted a twin barreled rifle. Waving his hand, a collection of mines lit up on the ground, but where they had once been stationary, now they reacted and aligned themselves according to his will. He would send one forward to stand on the ground, a little ways in front of Phoebus, and then shoot it to detonate it. Waiting until he made his way toward that spot, seeming to understand that he was supposed to follow it, he repeated the same process with another mine.

Beuce, for the most part, had been wracking his brain about the "mission" they had to fulfill. It could be metaphorical, in which case Frollo certainly seemed to fit the "monster" catagory. The way he treated these people was a little to similar to Dominus for his liking. But what about the man? Was it Phoebus? He seemed like he could almost go either way along the path of light or dark. Was their mission to save him from ending up like Frollo? He sighed. They had too little evidence to really jump to any conclusions yet. Instead, he decided to just watch the show. The first part with Esmeralda was certainly enjoyable to watch. He knew she couldn't hear him, but he whistled and cheered regardless. Though, the next part wasn't quite such a joy to witness. Once they darkness began to sink over the crowd, it didn't take a genius to realize things were taking a turn south. Heartless began to appear everywhere, drawn to the darkness the people contained. Was...was there really this much darkness in the city? It seemed like such a bright place. In hardly the time he'd thought this, Stratos made his way through the heartless as though they were nothing. Approaching him from behind, Beuce gave him a pat on the back with his fleshy hand. "Whoa, easy there buddy. Were you planning on taking them all on by yourself?" Had Stratos always been this powerful...? He had to say he was impressed by the display. Not one to be shown up, Beuce extended out his glass hand and two small spheres of light appeared a ways out from each side of his hand. One blue and one red. They began to levitate toward one another, with their glow being greatly accentuated as they passed over one another. Continuing on beyond the point of convergence, each one left metal in its path until they reach the opposite's starting location, and his keyblade was firm in his grip. He flipped it around so that the blue end was upright, but raised it above his shoulder, aiming the red end toward a gargoyle. With a heavy swing, he hurled the keyblade toward the monster. It barely had time to look at the weapon before it was evaporated by the blow. Stratos was head and shoulders above him in the grace department, but Beuce more than made up for it with the raw punch behind his attacks. Calling his keyblade back to him, he turned his attention to the group of soldiers running towards him. The clank of their armor resounded as their feet hit the ground. He swept the magical end across the ground, and five circles in the ground charged themselves with explosive power that raced towards the group of soldiers. One by one, they stepped on the bright circles and didn't have time to regret doing so. 12/20 0 munny because i'm not a blessed thief i'm just a regular thief. What? Oh no i'm being arrested. Nooooo~
