She brushed her hair out of her face with her hand as she looked at him. He seemed quite nice, if a little shy, maybe she could get him to open up a little. "Or I could simply give you directions. What do you say?" She added, thinking maybe he didn't want to walk with her and that gave him an escape if he wanted it.
Luke smiled as it seemed to work, it felt good to actually be of use to the team. And he did not expect the praise of John, "Really? Um, thanks." He said rubbing his neck, "But all I did was rewire the device, she's the one who really deserves the praise." As he spoke he watched Kathy in awe. She was quite a sight to be seen telling everybody what to do and making order of this chaos. She was a born leader, that much was clear, she held everyone's attention and actually meant they were getting somewhere. She could tell the most head strong of people what to do and it didn't feel like she was bossing you around, it felt like you should follow her out of logic. Luke definatly didn't mind following her. She appeared to be even younger than him (The age he was physically at least) making what she did in a room full of adults even more impressive. "Vegas sounds good to me" He said, a large smile on his face. This was turning out to be quite good, he'd missed the maddness.
Ah, I wonder who will share a bunk with Fladre. I feel sorry for them already. And I think Ella would be on the bottom bunk just so she's closer to the earth and her beloved plants.

Luke listened carfully to River's explanation, nodding to show he understood. But when Kathy asked him to help, his face lit up, he really enjoyed the feeling of actually being able to help. "With pleasure" He said with a grin, taking the device. It did cross his mind that he was possibly being a bit overconfident by dismissing John's arguements like that and it might make him look like a fool if he couldn't do it. However, he didn't let that bother him and concentrated on fixing the device. The device itself was different to anything Luke had seen before but he quickly familiarised himself with it, the principles it worked on weren't hard to grasp. He flipped it over, took off the back and examined it, making sense of the jumble of wires and technology. After a brief pause he began to quickly mess around with the wiring, his hand a blur as he worked quickly. His face was a picture of concentration and he was hardly aware of anything going on around him. After pausing again to check over his work, he returned the back to it's place and turned it back over. He pressed two buttons before going to turn it on. No responce. His brow creased a little. Had he been wrong? He suddenly hit the machine on the side and pressed the on button. It all lit up and relief was visible on Luke's face. He'd been worried for a moment there that he'd done it wrong. With a smile on his face he offered it back to Kathy, "Here. It should be working fine now." It felt really good to say that, especcially when John had been saying it couldn't be done before.

Midnight smiled, now that her job application had been completed and sent in, it was simply a matter of waiting to see if she'd got the job. She had some time to kill, she wasn't technically at work at the cafe today but she needed a drink. She'd be company for the staff working there at least, it had been rather quiet of late and she just hoped someone would be in. She walked quickly as she thought about it, she knew the layout of the place quite well now, well at least the way to the cafe and she reached it fairly quickly. She sighed as she entered, quiet as ever, but she couldn't say she'd been expecting any different. She felt the need to go into the back and change into her work clothes but had to remind herself that she wasn't working today. While she was thinking this she very nearly walked into the back of someone standing arkwardly near the enterance, looking rather confused. She'd somehow not seen them when she entered which, considering where they were standing, seemed like a big achievement. "Oh sorry" She said to them, she wasn't sure if she'd actually bumped into them in a way they'd noticed but it still felt like she should apologise for not seeing them. She looked up at the guy, they were quite tall. She knew everyone was tall compared to her as she was tiny but she was pretty sure he was actually properly tall. He was also not that bad looking and she did a quick check to make sure she wasn't staring. "Are you okay? New around here?" She asked as she was pretty sure that she'd have remembered if she had seen him before.

This is actually quite interesting. You've got a nice story here and I'm quite curious over what's going to happen, especcially with three people having to die (*gets protective over DT*). I also would quite like to know what it is they're fighting against. Anyway, nice work and keep it up.

Makaze, have you ever come across words that may not be technically in the dictonary but make sense, people understand exactly what they mean and are actually used in conversations between people. The dictonary is constantly being updated to include words like that but I bet you still bring it up that they are not technically words. /shutting up now.
