Привет! I would like some watermelon too, da~!
Spoiler: pretty fanart
Devour my heart.
I can understand every language there ever was, read every language there ever was, and speak every language there ever was. Perfectly. I could crack out a book in Mandarin, and read it. Perfectly. The words flowing fluidly. My head a dictionary, figuratively, figuratively so as to not give you any ideas. And in fact, that is just what I would do. Crack out a book, not in Mandarin but in Macedonian perhaps, and read it from start to finish. I have wanted to for some time now, and it will feel marvelous pummeling the Cyrillic alphabet. So easily. A master of it. Or perhaps I would take a job in part time, a translator in Ohrid for the monoglot tour guide. I would translate for him, on the boat ride across lake Ohrid, translate for the stream of tourists. Or perhaps I would travel to the Czech Republic and witness my very first marionette play, in Prague probably. The intimidating Czech language, with its seven grammatical cases, would no longer intimidate me. I would understand the plot, the monologues, the dialogues, the play. But what ever I do, I would make for an impeccable translator. Let's start with something easy. I decide to read a book in Macedonian.
No, but am downloading it now and absolutely cannot wait to play. It looks a beauty. I cannot wait...!
Prelude op. 23 No 5 - Original / Cover I've no doubt you hadn't that in mind, but this is no trollish post. I do prefer Prokofiev's rendition over Rachmaninov's. I find the original rather stiff and lacking in force, and thus feebly in feeling. I don't blame the man for paling in face of his stand-in, for he is up against Prokofiev himself. Prokofiev. You cannot outwit Sergei Prokofiev, at least, not if it is a question of pianist dexterity. Original is okay; mediocre. Cover is god tier. He inspired Prokofiev, I will give him that much.
I.. thank you! So many.
A bit lighter, maybe? Just a bit, a tad. It really kills me to ask so much of someone, sorry, sorry. So sorry. As close to the current as possible, the one I am using... would be nice. If possible.
I cannot help but feel disappointed by no one's commenting on my french fries comment; no comments on my smartass comment. I sent myself into a fits of laughter with that comment, a fit of tears. It goes to show, my rapidly deteriorating sense of humour. Deteriorating? As if it wasn't always so unrefined. Unfunny Lilith. Your vodka of choice is...? Have you any favorite brand?
*cough cough* Limies. Oh, and I am glad to say that I get along quite well with my Canadian neighbors. Figuratively. We are the best of friends, we are. I, however, cannot say the same of the two Britishers above...
Tacos were posted, but where has thy love gone for burritos? Where has it gone? It has gone. Burrito - Mexico Burritos. Are scrumptious delights. Spoiler Tiramisu - Italy Reposted as I cannot not be the one to post this. Spoiler Tapioca Pudding - Britain Britain, I think? Spoiler Yangzhou Chao Fan - China Otherwise known as Chinese fried rice. Served in any and all Chinese restaurants. Spoiler

Looks like, like... dinosaur eggs. Or an extraterrestrial's unborn baby, fetus? No, no, more like eggs of some sort. I know I've ruined the moment terribly, they do look tasty, they do. I think, I will like to have some Pão de Queijo. And beans + rice is the tastiest simple dish I know of. Black beans, preferably. Oh, look... french fries.
Suggest your favorite foods. Do try to include a suggestion or two from your own nationality but, feel free to suggest foods that are foreign to you, foreign foods you like. The foods suggestions thread, foreign or not. Do include, also, where the food hails from. Its name. And whatnot. Photos are optional. I apologise if these foods have been suggested already by none other than myself, I have posted before probably... but, conglomerating this into a single thread. Pastrmajlija - Macedonia sans the pork, for I am a vegetarian Spoiler Zelnik - Macedonia Spoiler Okroshka - Russia cold soup Spoiler Crêpe - France Oh, where to start? Consumption not limited to the French, crêpes are widespread. Misoshiru - Japan miso soup Spoiler Fudge - America tbh, haven't the faintest idea where fudge has its origin. An excuse to post something from the US, as I said, one from your nationality... Spoiler Will add some more later, undoubtedly. That's all for now, however.
That's curious. Where does it originate from? *blushes* damn, I really am unaware!
It is sausage? What? I had been expecting it to be, taking it quite literally, pudding. Why black pudding, then. Why the misleading name. Toad in the hole, for the love of god I could not think up what that is. What is it. Also. I am inspired. We should have a foreign foods thread, recommending our culinary suggestions. We should!
If he happens to live in America, it would be perfectly understandable. After all, foods cannot possibly be lower in quality than in America? I think? So he switched from 'horrible' to 'bad'. Well, I would call none of the English food I ate a culinary orgasm but, it was not too bad. Fine.
I never had any qualms with English food, and if this stereotype has a grain of truth supporting it, I suppose... must be because I have lived in America for too long, grown accustomed to heavy foods. The food was fine. Never understood this stereotype, but what to say? I am an American, and drink sodas at every meal, scarf down burgers or so the stereotype goes-- or in my case, veggie burgers. I would not know. Enjoy your trip.
We will soon be another China if this keeps up, I thought to myself. Somehow I find it all very amusing. And if I read correctly... good god, they have. Along with New Zealand, Morocco, Switzerland, off the top of my head. Check the site and verify, I might remember incorrectly.
