I wasn't sure where to post this, but I wanted to get this off of my chest and see what other people thought. Everyone has a right to their opinions on the matter, and I find that this does get some constant arguments when I hear people talk about it. I thought more about the subject after the new movie Frozen came out (no spoilers for the movie plot or anything, just the song I will be taking about). There is this beautiful song in the movie called Let it Go. The message of the song is gorgeous, and it is easily my favorite in the movie. In the movie, the song is sung by Idina Menzel, and it brought tears to my eyes by how much emotion was in her performance. I like the way the instrumental of the music is, and there is something about her voice that just grabbed me (granted Idina Menzel did this in Wicked for me too). The beginning was a bit nasally for my taste, but I still liked it. In the credits, they played a covered version of this song sung by Demi Lovato. I personally feel this version is... okay. It isn't in any way bad, in fact Demi sounds fantastic, but it doesn't have the emotion in her voice that I liked. The instrumental I didn't really love either, it tried to make it more upbeat and good for radio, even though the original pace was fine. Now I'm not here to rip on this song, I am here to talk about pop covers in general, and this wasn't the best example, it was the one on my mind. So I will use another song as my example. I take you back to Aladdin, with "everyone's favorite song" A Whole New World. Now, I honestly wasn't entirely fond of the movie Aladdin, but I really loved this song. It was just an overall fun song. I loved the singing voices, Aladdin's voice bugged me sometimes but I loved the overall sound of it. I never got emotional over it, but it was a pretty song. Now, Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson's cover of it... I honestly hate. I think it is droned on too long, the voices are regular pop voices, and it bored me. I felt like this version was done just to cash in on the fact that people's favorite pop singers were singing a popular song. So... overall. What do you guys think of the Disney vs Pop Cover debate? I guess my answer is a general "I don't really love the pop covers, but they are okay."
Lauren was still rubbing her hand before she heard someone say, "Lauren, what happened? What did the door do to you?" Lauren looked over to the source of the speaking, who was Elsie and spoke, "The door did nothing wrong, mate." She looked down at the sketch pad and then looked back over at Elsie and took her other hand and lightly punched her. She looked back at the door and the sketch pad, then looked back at Elsie and spoke, "I need to punch something." Lauren used the same hand from before and punched the door again harder and winced horribly before she punched it one more time. She grabbed her hand and leaned back and spoke, "It has to be a wall or a person. I don't think you wanna be punched."
Wednesday, November 13th, 2013 | Day 53 : 3/5 | Music | Location: Westport, New Zealand| ooc: Adam read what Kai wrote in response and thought about it before he replied, "Well... when I was there he wasn't talking although he was conscious. He seemed fine. There was a girl there that said she was the one you two dodged with your car. Ahranna I think is what she said her name was." Adam was interrupted by a ring that made him jump for a minute and he pulled it out and saw the number and looked over at Kai, "Sorry, it's Cora. We got her to join. By a miracle... Henrik wasn't making it much better... I should answer this." Adam pressed the answer button and lifted it up to his head and spoke quietly into the phone, "Hello?" Hello, Adam. Iz Cora. I, Henrik, and Iriz are ready to go. Vhere vill ve meet you? "We need to wait for the group in Taupo to get here, they aren't here yet. If you still want to wait for a while. Don't be in a rush... we also still have Kai and Brandon in the hospital." Ah, zat's right. Ve vill vait at my place then. How are they? Your friends? Adam looked up at Kai and then spoke, "They're still hurting. But they are all right." Mm... I vish them good health. You need anything? I run errands for you and friends if you like? Adam lowered the phone so he wasn't speaking directly into Cora's ear, "She wishes you good health, and wonders if you need anything or want anything?"
Lauren yawned as she finally made it out of the room. She was half awake and started knocking on everyone's doors (even if they were no longer in there) and yelled for them to get up and moving. Lauren went downstairs and saw everyone there and waved at them as she went and ate breakfast alone. When she finished eating she grabbed everyone and pulled them along constantly repeating, "We're done. We don't need to be here anymooooore." She assumed people could still continue the conversations in the car so she didn't mind interrupting them. While they continued on their conversations, Lauren pulled out a little sketchbook to draw in. She was still trying to distract herself from Alice, and none of the apparent training was happening yet. Someone mentioned self-training at one point but she had no idea how they did that. When she zoned out into the sketchpad she kept constantly breaking her pencils, her mechanical pencils were all empty. She decided to just pull out a pen that had multiple color options and attempted with that. She zoned out again and switched her pen to red and drew out a stick figure waving at her and Lauren chuckled and waved back. She drew out a broken pencil and then her hand switched the pen to a green and drew a patch of grass, it switched to black and she drew out a crack in the ground. Lauren kind of frowned at it, then drew out a poorly drawn version of Alice with the word "hope" over it. Lauren looked confused for a moment and tried to put down the pen because she was getting tired of it, but couldn't. She sketched out a person holding out their firsts and punching at a wall, then drew the same person punching at another person. Lauren blinked and took one hand and punched the car door in full force next to her and grabbed her hand it pain shouting, "OW!"

Wednesday, November 13th, 2013 | Day 53 : 3/5 | Music | Location: Westport, New Zealand| ooc: Adam had been sitting in the hotel room for a few hours, slowly stacking things on top of Richard. It was a fairly large pile at this point and he was already getting bored. He then remembered he had not checked up on Kai the other day when he meant to. He just got completely distracted. Adam grabbed his backpack and pulled one of the fresh apples he had bought out of his bag and ate it as he headed towards the hospital. When he got there, Adam had to wait a bit before they would let him in. When he entered the room Kai had looked at him and he waved at him and spoke, "guten Morgen." he walked closer and said, "That's the most I remember from Germany." Adam walked over and took a seat on a chair by the bed, "Sorry to hear about this accident. I definitely wasn't expecting this... well... you probably weren't eithe- OH." Adam opened up the bag and pulled out a mini whiteboard and an assortment of different colored dry/erase markers. He got up and handed them to Kai and spoke, "At least with this it doesn't get destroyed in water." he placed his hands in his pocket and continued, "I would have gotten a phone for you but none of the rich ones are here at the moment. But I hope it still works... how are you feeling?"

Xyloh heard the crash within the music room, and she quickly turned her head to see a boy and the mess he had left accidentally. She put down the violin and ran over to help. She started to pick up the flowers and fix them, "Are you alright?" The boy nodded his head quickly and kept his hands down. His hands were shaky as he picked the flowers and Xyloh noticed this and addressed it out loud, "Are you sure? You seem shaky..." He looked around and nodded again as he placed the vase upright. He then started to put flowers in the vase. Xyloh was concerned why all of his replies seemed to be in nods, "...Do you not talk? I don't wanna sound rude..." He looked over at Xyloh and touched his throat and opened his mouth, no sound came out. He then breathed out and shrugged his shoulders as Xyloh said, "O-oh, are you mute? I am so sorry." He nodded his head a little and shrugged at her, then he looked down at the basket of flowers and pulled out a dark rose that seemed black and he put it in with the other flowers. In curiousity, Xyloh picked up the rose and examined it saying, " I have never seen a black rose before... how is this even.." "It looks black because it's the darkest red." Xyloh quickly turned to see Rose there, she looked to see that the boy's face had grown very pale and his eyes had widened. " They are depressing flowers... Basil, why are you putting those flowers out?" she did not seem in the least bit happy at all, but at least she found out the boy's name was Basil. He lowered his head and tightened his grip on the basket handle, "Please dispose of them." She then looked at Xyloh and nodded, " I'm sorry if he has disturbed you." "What? Oh no! He hasn't disturbed me at all!" Rose seemed to stare at Xyloh for a moment before she turned back to Basil and said, "Dispose of the flowers." and then she walked away. Basil started trembling and biting his lower lip. "Hey hey, why are you shaking?" Basil looked like he was about to cry, he shook his head and handed Xyloh a note from his pocket and a black rose. Xyloh looked at the note but couldn't figure it out at that moment. She looked back over at Basil and said, "Do you want a hug?" Basil nodded and set the basket down and took the cat out of his kimono and gave her a hug, and she hugged him back. "You're really cold." She felt a brushing against her legs and exclaimed, "Oh my gosh oh my gosh, a kitty!" Basil sniffed and backed off from the hug and wiped a tear from his eye and picked up the cat and held it out to her. Xyloh held the kitty and spoke, " I haven't seen a kitty since I was alive!" she pet the cat and looked over at Basil, "If you ever need anyone, just let me know and I'll be there." She smiled and tossed the cat a bit in the air and spoke, to the cat, "- if you don't like that just scratch me." Marooooow Basil made a motion that looked like he was laughing with no sound and then he nodded at Xyloh. She heard a man call for Basil and he waved goodbye taking the cat and the basket of flowers with him. Xyloh looked at the note again and almost immediately read it in normal English. She became concerned and went to look for Elly, but she could find him. She would worry tomorrow instead. Xyloh decided to go up to the girl's room and just go to bed because she was tired.
Lauren was a bit upset about Leo not being able to sing for her, but she didn't pay too much mind to it. She spent much of the rest of the day just kind of laying around and doing nothing. That seemed to be what the majority of people were doing anyway. When she was done doing nothing for the day, she went to bed. Adam left the hospital after the visit with Brandon and having a boring conversation with Ahranna. When he got to the hotel he just went to bed.

(there should be no spoilers, I am so sorry if there are...) I saw it last week and forgot this thread was here, and I feel so bad for ever truly looking down on it as much as I did. I thought so many things were going to go wrong but it was just so amazing. The songs were beautiful and so full of emotion. I wasn't extremely fond of them still having to have a pop singer cover what I thought was one of the best songs in the movie for the credits, but that is fine. The animation was gorgeous, especially of the ice. The models I still think look too Tangled-like, but I was so interested in the characters I truly stopped caring after a certain point. The story was wonderful, and usually I am a person who sits in the theatre and wonders if it is almost over, even if it is a good movie, but this one kept to a nice length that I don't think I stopped watching the movie except when my mom asked what she had missed when she came back with popcorn. If anyone was having any worries about this movie, I feel like they should be eased a bit, because it is a very good movie. Spoiler: Spoiler maybe? The snowman isn't that annoying either so don't worry about that!

I kind of wish I could check it out, just to see it, ya know?" Adam was a bit thrown off by the question before he let out a reply, "Yeah, we did see it. We started traveling around that time." he may or may not have been lying then. He had joined the group then, but he didn't know when Brandon did. Adam shifted a little bit where he was standing before he continued, "I don't know if they showed anything on the telly but that is the most you would want to see... unless you like the idea of jumping into that craziness." Adam shrugged and looked over at Brandon who had remained surprisingly quiet throughout this entire conversation.
Tuesday, November 12th, 2013 | Day 53 : 4/5 | Music | Location: Westport, New Zealand| ooc: "The name's Ahranna. Unfortunately, I'm kind of the reason why your friend Brandon here and the other one -- ... Kai, was it? -- are in the hospital. It was like their car came out of nowhere and then it was swerving to avoid hitting me." Adam wanted to let out a sigh but chose not to. Wonderful. She was probably one of those people that got so sympathetic over an accident that they just didn't know when to leave. He could very well just be assuming that. "You must be Adam." He was thrown off a bit when she said his name correctly. Brandon didn't even get the doctors to say it correctly. Much less her, unless she spoke to Kai. Well, conversed with Kai. Then again she could still speak, it was just Kai who couldn't. He wondered how Kai was then. " I've heard a good deal about the lot of you. Brandon told me that you and your friends have just been traveling the world. That's so fascinating. I was just telling him that I wish I could just pack up and leave -- travel the globe -- like that, when you walked in. I bet you've just had tons of exciting adventures. " Damn it Brandon. Well at least she wasn't up and asking if she could travel the world, she just said she wished she could. And sometimes he wished he could enjoy it. He almost slipped and said the words exciting is an understatement but managed to restrain himself from saying that and instead said, "It has been interesting. Its sad though that they got injured during our travels though. At least you weren't hit by the car." Not that no one else got injured or anything... hopefully Brandon didn't go into detail... Adam heard a beep come from his pocket and he looked down to check on it to see a message from Cora, who was now training with Henrik who was teaching her how ... not to die? He must have meant defending herself and fighting because if he wanted to teach her how to not die he wouldn't be teaching her at all. He looked back up the two in the room after he texted her back.
Lauren watched after Leo commented about her perspiration and she sniffed herself in concern when he looked down at his phone. He seemed to be glued to that thing, which she didn't really care too much about. Lauren had finished up a side part of her meal when she heard. ⎧I don't know about dancing, now anyway, but if you want, I could sing for you.⎭ Lauren blinked in surprise and after about half a minute she nodded and said, "Sure!" she held up a finger asking for a minute and she walked across the room and got herself a drink and came back, "Sorry I am poached." Parched... "Parched." she took a sip and placed the drink down on the table.
⎧Why do you want to know? ⎭ Lauren frowned a bit as she played around with her food, "I was just trying to make little talk." Lauren took another bite out of her meal and then continued, "I just assumed maybe you did if you had the charm of a kpop artist... eh... sorry mate if I bugged ya." Lauren let out a sigh and she leaned her elbows against a table, "I used to randomly dance to that music, pretty badly usually but I had fun... but I was always dancing with Alice..." Lauren leaned more into the table as she continued, "Fun attractions... distractions..." Lauren corrected herself because she felt like she needed to, then grinned and looked back over at Leo, "Everyone can dance... but can you dance well?"
Lauren was having one of those mornings where she felt incredibly bored. She wandered into the dining room to get food because she was really hungry, and the food that was available reminded her of Alice again and she let out a sad sigh as she plated her food. She turned around and was going to sit down on her own before she noticed Jun Tae sitting in there, "Oh Leo! G-da-AHH!" Lauren immediately fell to the ground and the sound of the plates breaking against a chair were heard. She laughed and skipped back over to the place to get food, totally forgetting to pick it up, so one of the hotel employees went and picked it up before she made her way back to Jun Tae, and she sat down with a smile and spoke, "Sooo g-day!" She sang as she shoved a bit of food into her mouth and then spoke as she was chewing, "So, you say you aren't Leo... but you look like Leo... can you sing and dance? I bet you caaaan."
Tuesday, November 12th, 2013 | Day 53 : 2/5 | Music | Location: Westport, New Zealand| ooc: Adam knew he had to go in and visit the two in the hospital. Other than the fact he would be updating them on Cora, but he seriously doubted any of the others in the ground would have the care enough to actually go and visit Brandon and Kai. When he got up he ate breakfast and then when it was finally visiting hours he headed over to the hospital. He decided to visit Brandon first, he decided instead of getting him flowers or anything he would just bring over a tennis ball. It was the most effort he was going to actually put into something anyway. When he went into the room he walked straight towards the bed, where Brandon was already awake. "Hey Brandon. Hope you are doing well. I brought you a ball. Don't go crazy." he placed the ball on the side table and turned and noticed there was another person in the room and he jumped in surprise, "Bloody hell... oh. I didn't... huh. Who is this, or rather who are you?"
