Yes but because there is a chance that it could be one, that is enough of a reason not to do it. It's the same as drinking, you could get into a car crash while wasted and it not be connected to the alcohol at all, but does that mean you are just going to take the risk?

Unless there is an actual reason to stay up to ridiculously late hours, then you "shouldn't". You could say that's not the case but you are the one asking for advice. Also driving without proper rest is horribly irresponsible. If you were per say to get into an accident while tired behind the wheel, you would be held fully accountable for that. But hey, staying up late at night is fun and totally worth the risk.

Why would I have a debate with someone who says "you have nice paragraphs there but you are wrong". You are pretty much stomping around at the notion of someone saying "idk dude, that might not be right". Because you call it fact do we all just drop what we are doing and call it a day? I don't know, that seems like a load of bullshit to me. I can say he isn't popular in a larger group of people with a bigger sample size, and I would be not be wrong because that's what I've been saying since the start of it. All I was trying to do was mention that there might be another side to this and not turn it into a pissing contest. I regret replying to this at all, damn dude.

You could watch a portion of a YouTube video and it still count as a "view" for that video. YouTube was also a lot more lax with how they counted their views back in the day. So older videos might not be as accurate as you think. I am well aware that in the past YouTube has "fixed" some of the view counters and people's video view count has gone up or down depending on the situation. Also one person could view the video multiple times on several different IP's. I understand that yes a YouTube video with a ton of views means that it is indeed popular but like @temples said: This makes a lot of sense ^ assumption or not. The more views a video on YouTube has can make the diversity of the people knowing about it expand by a lot, but you need A LOT of views for that to be the case. An example of this is the story of my car crash went viral on YouTube after a major gaming YouTuber talked about it in a video (has well over half a million views, and an active community to boot) but are people stopping me on the streets being like "duuude are you that guy" no they aren't. In fact like I said, probably none of you are even aware that this even happened, why is that you may ask? Because its not your scene, your group, etc. It was popular in that select group of people, but it didn't branch out that much. It takes something major for that to happen and even then there are still walls that are rarely broken down. My grandmother doesn't know **** about gangnam style despite it having over two billion views. I can name several people I know that don't live in caves, that are the same as my grandmother. They don't know because stuff like that isn't part of their world. A million views on YouTube, in the grand scheme of things isn't that much. Not at all. If you go to a gaming convention as a big youtuber, yes people are going to be stopping you left and right but that's because that particular group of people is FLOODED with people in that scene. You as that youtuber are very much part of their world / lives. The same way FF music is part of some of our lives but most people outside of the gaming community wouldn't recognize it at all. In OUR worlds' it is popular, hella popular. However if you included the entire world or even your entire state or country it would fall flat.
^ That's implying every single view count on that video is 1:1 - person per view. That is not the case.
