Beuce let out a heavy sigh. "So, Cat won't give up her spot, I seriously doubt Karina is going to let up on being stubborn and have someone else take her place, Kel probably wants to become a master just as much as the rest of us, and i can't exactly afford to let my chance slip away either. We need some fair way to decide who takes the test..." Beuce said as he put on his thinking cap. Literally, he took out a hat with the word "thinking" written on it and placed it on his head. After a moment, he snapped his fingers, apparently having gotten an idea. Reaching into his pocket seemingly full of random crap they might need (RPG logic op) he pulled out several straws. Some were short, some were long. Gripping them tightly, he held them out. "Alright. Since we all need to take the mark equally bad, we're going to draw straws. The three with the longest straws get the spots. No complaints about it. Agreed?" He asked, then held out his hand with the straws in it, available for the others to draw them. He looked around at the others. If they didn't agree to this, then there would be conflict, and that wouldn't be helping anyone become a master. "A simple method, yet very effective. I like it!" Kuma spoke up, apparently approving of the drawing straws method of decision. Now, all that was left was for the others to draw their straws, and see who would be participating in the Mark of Mastery. Who'd get a shot at becoming a master. "Be careful girl, this test is not so easily passed as you seem to think." The giant man said, warning Karina of the test's difficulty.
Beuce scratched the back of his head. Too many people, not enough spots. He knew this was going to happen the second Kuma said there'd only be three spots. "Well, i can't afford to give up my spot, but we can't exactly go and fight over them. This is probably part of the test, to prove teamwork and humility. It's a classic test for teams. Set up a situation where one is guaranteed to fall behind, and see if the others turn around to help them back up." He thought to himself. If one of them had to fall behind...He couldn't afford to let it be him, but everyone had their own reasons for taking the test. "I'll save her for you." Beuce blurted out eventually. "We both need the guardians anyway, but i need all eight of them. If you let me take the mark in your place, I'll save her for you." He offered, attempting to get Cat to relinquish her spot to him. Without those guardians, he didn't stand a chance against Nequa, and if needed the guardians as well, why didn't he just use them to accomplish her goal? Looking at her, he awaited her response.

The group heading to the training grounds made idle conversation along the way. What would the mark be like? What would Kuma look like? They discussed the topic while following the likely lamppost wielding moogle to their destination. Beuce was the first to step into the sandy grounds behind the moogle. Looking around, he could see Eon being depressed, Glen trying to comfort him, an- JESUS CHRIST MAN! WHAT HORRIFYING MONSTROSITY WAS THAT?! IT'S LIKE IF HERCULES AND SUPERMAN HAD A BABY THAT TURNED INTO THE HULK, WAS ON STEROIDS AND WENT SUPER SAIY- on no wait that's Karina...woops. Beuce was glad he didn't say that out loud. Otherwise hulk super saiyan steroid hercules baby might have had an issue with him. Looking over to eon, he could tell that the guy was really down. Glen's encouragement did nothing to help him. Before any of them could do anything, a loud voice came from behind them. It was deep and had a thick Scottish accent. It sounded like the voice of a giant. Turning around, Beuce saw that he wasn't far off. "His body is harder than diamonds, but...He is still a boy. His heart is soft and vulnerable..." said the rather large man. He towered above Beuce, who standing at 6"2, was fairly tall by most standards. To top it off, the man was so brawny he looked like he could win a fist fight against a freight train with both hands tied behind his back. He could only guess that this man was the one that they had came looking for. The keyblade master known as Kuma. "So, why have you come seeking me?" He asked Beuce, who was at the head of the group. "We came to take the mark of mastery." Said the red-clad keyblade wielder bluntly. He stated exactly why they were there. No beating around the bush. It obviously took somewhat by surprise. He raised an eyebrow at him, then began to laugh. When he spoke, it was in a louder tone than he had previously used. It honestly suited him better. "HAHA! THE MARK YOU SAY? THAT IS A HIGH REQUEST FOR AN OUTSIDER! THE ORDER DOESN'T LIKE GIVING THE MARK TO PEOPLE WHO HAVEN'T TRAINED IN CENTRAL HAVEN, BUT I SAY THAT IT'S NOT WHERE YOU TRAIN THAT MATTERS! AS LONG AS YOU SHOW THE MAKINGS, A MASTER YOU ARE! STILL, I CAN'T GO GIVING THE MARK TO EVERY STRANGER WHO WALKS IN AND ASKS! HMM...I WILL TELL YOU WHAT, I'LL GIVE THE TEST..." He paused, raising his hand into the air. He held up his Index, middle, and ring finger. "TO THREE OF YOU! WHICH THREE, YOU WILL HAVE TO DECIDE FOR YOURSELVES."
As Eon and his two children stepped forward, that made twenty. "We now have all of us we need...Let us begin." R said, summoning his keyblade. He planted it into the ground, directly in the center of the main hall. The ceremony began. The heartless motioned for everyone to form a circle around the weapon of the heart. The nineteen others who would forge their salvation did as they were told, and joined hands surrounding it. "Remnant of Death, bring us into the depths of our hearts!" At the heartless' command, a black beam of light shot forth from it and radiated toward R's chest. Closing his eyes, a wind swept back his hair and clothes as his heart emerged from his body. going in a straight line, it next traveled to Gexln, and a similar event happened, followed by Xero, Xepphiras, Karina, and so on. Each one, their heart, or the manifestation of their what they had left, emerged from their chest. As the light came full circle, it connected with the trail where it had initially reached R. Each of their hearts had left their body and was now floating in front of their chest. A brilliant light emitted in all directions from the keyblade in the center of them, enveloping all in its wake. In a few seconds though, their vision faded back into use. They were each standing on a brilliant multicolored stained glass platform, with themselves as the main view of it. Their Station of Awakening, the manifestation of their very being. Each of them, if they took the time to look around, would notice nineteen other platforms very much like the one they themselves were standing on, and one which was very different. While the stations each of them were standing on were arranged in a large circle, a fair distance between each one adjacent to it. On a much lower elevation, in the direct center of them, was an enormous black and white stone platform. On it was what seemed to be an intricate and detailed carving, depicting the breaking of the X-blade. All surrounding a large rectangular pedestal with a hollow in it. The stone pedestal was about 7 feet long, and anyone who looked at the hollow indent could easily tell what it was. It nearly spanned the length of it, and was in the shape of a large blade. This was a mold. The place where the X-blade would be forged. A pair of translucent stairs extended from each platform into the central one. They were ghostly and spectral, as though they were nothing more than a mere illusion. From above, three beams of light shot down and left three stone doors for each person. Three symbols were on the doors, a single symbol each. One, a blade. One, a staff. One, a shield. Power, Wisdom, and Courage. In order to prove their worth to the X-blade and obtain their fragment, they would each need to go through all three of these doors, and complete the trial that lay beyond.
"Oh man, you are one fine piece of ass. Would you **** me? I'd **** me. I'd **** me hard." Beuce said, staring at himself in the mirror of the elevator wall. He flexed, posed, and winked in all sorts of manners. After like, an hour and a half of nothing but this. Backing up, he accidentally pressed the open doors button with his magnificent ass. The doors slid open, and Beuce walked out of the elevator. Stepping into the conference room directly to the right of the elevator, he opened the door dramatically in a slow and stylish fashion. "Dududududududud Woooweeeeee Dududududududud wooweeeeee dudududu chrrrr wooeeee dodo do do doooo do do dodo do do" The white haired man acapella'd as he entered the room in a dramatic way. The light shone at his back, enveloping his face in a warm glow. The wind swept through his hair, blowing it perfectly to the side. He walked in slow motion down the way as thousands of women screamed and cheered and begged to let them have his children. He was appreciated the way he deserved. Well... In his head anyways... In reality, he just walked in slowly, singing the song as he walked slowly, blowing kisses and waving to nonexistent adoring fans, and probably looked like the oddest person alive. Wasn't far off it either. Coming back into reality (kind of...) He looked around to see everyone's hands were bleeding and some guy was being extremely depressing. Walking up to callum, he pinched his cheek and put his face close to him. "Aww you're all sad and stuff. I can tell this is going to be more fun than a pair of bunk beds. Remember kids, playing with knives results in becoming a ninja. So be sure to do it a lot and get plenty of practice."
I'll claim 5
Beuce listened to the story with interest. He genuinely felt sorry for the guy. He was trapped in this library, never able to wander too far from it for fear that something might happen and he wouldn't be able to get to help in time. Beuce would probably have gone insane from that if he were stuck in the same situation. He put on a content face, but anyone could tell he wasn't really happy with it. Why would he be? He was trapped in this situation, because of someone else's mistake. He could tell that he didn't begrudge his partner for the accident, but he had to have some regret about the event. Seiza was in a cage. It didn't have any locks or bars, but it was sure enough a cage nonetheless. Nodding, Beuce indicated he wanted to try and find Kuma. "Yeah. I've got new reason for finding him now. I'm going to ace that mark, Find the guardians, and when i find the light guardian, i'm going to come back to this world and heal you back to mint condition!" Said the red-clad keyblade wielder. He smiled at Seiza. Beuce really meant what he said. He was now out to find the guardian of light to help him recover his strength, and be free.
Still very much determined to ace the mark and go challenge the guardians, Beuce began to ask where to find this Kuma and go take the mark, but he noticed the machines on Seiza's arm acting up. He looked nervous about it. Giving a puzzled expression, Beuce looked closer at it. It seemed to be monitoring his vital signs, particularly his heartbeat. "So uh...How'd that happen?" He asked, geniunely wanting to know the story behind it. It was a curious thing, and not something you saw every day. It probably made the guy uncomfortable talking about it, so it wouldn't surprise him if he didn't answer.
Orpheus glanced over at Kai, the one holding a finger at him. He imagined the child's threat was more than met the eye. Perhaps some sort of projectile weapon was made out of his fingers...Orpheus said no words to the boy. Instead, he simply shot a glance at him which acknowledged his words, then began walking over to the still screaming Cierra. Most wouldn't see this as a hostile action. After all, he'd just made a bargain to save her life. One would expect him to make sure she was alright. As she calmed down, his shoulders relaxed from their tension. She was still lightly sobbing, but she was alright. Her life had been preserved, as the humans had promised. Grabbing the back of her head and placing it against his chest, he held her against him to try and calm her down. "It would seem fate wants you to live. The healer found her way to us on her own." Said the necromancer. He held her for a moment, seemingly uninterested in the humans. However, this was not quite as innocent a gesture as it seemed. The undead silently shifted, subtly forming a blockade between the humans and their city. By the time anyone would realize what happened, they would be completely walled off. "Seize them." Well crap. Looked like Orpheus had decided to be a ****** about it after all. At least he had his marker back. That was the important thing. Now he could focus on the coming fight. "Flame o-" "Beuce that's under copyright" "Oh...I'm getting fired u-" "That's from fairy tail." "...I-" "Probably that too." "Alright you know what screw this i'm just going to heat up." And heat up he did. The air around him began warping due to the heat he gave off. "So, think you can handle this many?" Beuce asked the air behind him as he got into a fighting stance. Immediately turning around and making it so he had his back to the spot he was standing in before, he got in a different one and spoke in a slightly altered voice. "Well, might be tough if one more shows up" Upon which he switched back. "Then that'll have to be the one i take care of" "What, you're fighting too?" Damn it all! He knew this was a trick. The savior drew his sword with unmatched speed and got into a stance to take on the undead, but the timing could not have been more inopportune. Suddenly, sweat began pouring down his face, and he dropped to one knee, unable to hold his body up. The collective exhaustion from all his previous activities that day, fighting the undead, sprinting through the tunnel, battling feo, it all hit him like a wall at the same time. Panting feverishly, the green haired man managed to squeeze out a few curses between his gasps for air. He wouldn't be of any use until he recovered his strength, which wouldn't be any time in the helpful future. Far faster than any human save for a Kenyan could hope to achieve, Nickel Jackson met Sven's charge. As he slashed at his feet, he jumped, and landed on his opponent's arm momentarily. This took an incredible deal of poise and balance to pull off, but all Nickel needed to do was see someone else do it. It seemed he had. Now that he was somewhat past his defenses, the dark skinned soldier ran in his heel across the man's jaw in a horizontal sweep, then as fast as a person could blink, he was on the other side of the room. It wasn't a particularly big room, so even without superhuman speed it wouldn't take more than a second or two to traverse it, but he did it so fast it was unbelievable. The Warden glared daggers at outlaw. So, he's a deserter from Mordecai. Well, that explained a lot. "Hmph. So you're a lustor are you? Well, the more you know..." It had always seemed unnatural the way he knew the truth. In fact, he often talked like he didn't hear the lies to begin with, responding to something totally different. Maybe that was his power. The warden didn't seem overly angry at outlaw. He hadn't intentionally kept anything from him, and as long as he wasn't going to get in the way, he wasn't going to at all hinder his capture of the world's vermin, he couldn't care less about the man he used to be. "Why the hell wouldn't we? You'll get your revenge, same as I'll get mine." That was when the other man showed up. His partner seemed hostile toward him for defending the bird which had ruined his hat. The warden just watched, and let outlaw do the talking. It was true, he'd know if they lied or not. Still, the wardens presence flooded the area, and would send chills down the spine of an ordinary man. As strong as he was in combat, intimidation was his strongest weapon. Fear was more paralyzing than any poison could ever be. The vibe Leah had sensed wasn't simply her imagination. Far from it. From the wilderness of the woodlands, a minute after she had exited, followed another. This one had his face entirely hidden by shadows. He'd seen her retreat into the woods before. A pretty young girl, living all alone deep in the middle of nowhere. Classic target. He tailed her, staying somewhat out of sight. He knew she'd eventually catch onto his presence, but that was when the fun began.

Not darkness, Daaaaaaaarknesssss
"That's all the more reason to give us the test!" Beuce demanded as he pursued Seiza. "If it's about to hit the fan, then wouldn't having some more masters take a load off their shoulders? I mean i don't expect them to just pass us because they need help, but they should at least give us a shot at it!" The man pleaded. If he could convince Seiza to get him in to talk to the masters, he may well be able to convince them to give him the test. As far as he was concerned, if he took it, he could ace it. "And besides, Cat needs to become a master so she can get the command from the guardian of light! So, how can we request to take the test?" He didn't know why she needed it so badly, but she did, and that was all that mattered. ...God there have been no jokes from this guy recently. The hell is up with that?
I played a little bit of this when it was first released, but i was a bit limited by the fact i couldn't read any of the text. I still had a lot of fun playing it, so if it was localized i'd imagine it'd be quite a bit better. I'd love to see this happen.
inb4 next match isn't against me
Noticing the momentary silence, Beuce sighed, then walked over to Ananta with a somewhat pissed off look on his face. "Man you just do not get it, do you? We're going to war! War isn't exactly the safest place to be normally, but we're going up against the agents of kingdom hearts!" He said, almost angrily. One thing that pissed him off was people not comprehending what others say (Ironically...). "This is going to be the most dangerous thing anyone has ever done. No one can promise any of us will be safe, but we really can't afford to be picky about who we let do this. If there's any less than twenty of us, we can't forge the thing. If we can't forge it, we can't beat the agents. If we don't beat them, he's dead for sure, along with everyone else on this world and every other. You can't be promised he'll be safe, not by a long shot, but letting him do it is the safer path. So, what's it gonna be?" "Unfortunately, he is right. I'm not even entirely sure it's possible to defeat them at all, but this is our best hope. I cannot completely ensure the safety of anyone, but so long as my power holds strong, i will protect him with everything i have. Of that, you have my word." R promised. If she still agreed, that would make fifteen. They only needed five more, and there were still others who had yet to step forward. If Kaya hadn't...The memory was a sad one for the man, but he showed no signs of emotional distress. There wasn't time to grieve or think of what could have been if things had gone differently. The present was the only thing they could focus on."Yes, Sapphire. You will be able to participate. It does not matter if you lack a heart. The traces of what you once were remain in your body. The strength of our hearts will give it form, and you will be able to do it the same as any other."
Character Name: Bartholomew Blackstone Age: 19 Gender: Male Appearance: Spoiler Bio: Parents tell their children stories of demons and ghosts, goblins and monsters, to scare them. All but the most superstitious believe these stories to but nothing but folk tales, passed down for the very purpose they use them, but every story has to come from somewhere...right? If you think someone, somewhere simply concocted these creatures in their mind, you'd be wrong. They drew it from personal experiences. Experiences with people like Bartholomew. His family was always secluded, to say the least. Only handful of people in the world even know they exist, but they are the origin of ghost stories. Ghouls, Vampires, Man-eating spiders, every story with something that goes bump in the night, it probably originated from an encounter with a Blackstone. If you can't see him...Well, nightmares are the least of your worries.
