Jack temporarily looked back at Diana, then went off to try and catch up with Chronix. Sero was laughing at Zane's expense, so Jack took Sero's bike back, because he was too tired to run all the way back. Sero was making sure that Zane didn't try anything stupid, slowly reaching for his gun for support. Meanwhile, Chronix was halfway home when he found himself staring at the strange pendant. He somehow thought that was why his sword had acted on his own, but he quickly disguarded that thought. Jack rode up next to him and said "What was THAT about?" Sero was close behind Jack, smiling and, for some reason, bloody. "What? I told you, Chronix is a brat. Let it go, eh?"
Sero grabbed the bloodling's hands and broke them. Smiling evilly, Sero landed a kick below the belt, jumped on to the wall, off onto the bloodling's head, then, kicking the bloodling's head sideways into the wall, off onto the ground. Sero laughed at the poor attempt at an attack. OOC: (Sorry, I forgot to mention: Sero's a master of armed and unarmed combat, and when I said tough sh*t, I meant that he is fast, strong, and has a six pack under his jacket.)
OOC: ( well, I added Jack and Sero, and nobody minded, I'm not sure though. And the story so far: We just got out of a fight and my main character walked off like he didn't care.)
OOC: (Sero's a tough piece of sh*t, he got killed and revived over and over again when he was being used as a test subject, so a stab to the ribs is like a poke to him. That's all.) Chronix didn't do anything in response, but Jack said "It was nothing. We do what we can." Chronix smirked and walked away, leaving Jack staring at him in surprise. Sero said to him as he walked by, "Where are you going, hmm?" "I don't care if I save lives or not, all I care about is getting rid of fools like that bloodling. Frankly, I'm not sure why I saved you, Sero." Sero laughed, the insult was normal by now. Chronix walked around the corner, back up to his house. Sero looked at Jack. "I should've told you, he's a brat."
Sero turned around and laughed. "Quiet you. Else I might just let this guy go-" Sero began. "Sero, do it now. You have enough charges as it is, do you want torture to be added? It's not on there." Sero looked over at Chronix and opened his left hand, dropping Panthera hard to the ground, laughing when he saw Panthera's expression as he did so. "Chronix. I don't care about my crimes. All I care about is the fact..." he looked at Jack and Diana "...That a criminal on the run just saved a knight and a princess." Sero laughed at Jack's surprised expression. Sero turned back to the bloodling when he felt his ribs being poked. "Scram, buddy." Sero held his gun to the bloodling's forehead, and then dropped him.
Sero realized that two of the five there were still fighting, and calmly walked over and picked up both Panthera and the bloodling as easily as if they were small puppies. "Now now, children," Sero said mockingly, "Let's not fight in front of the grownups." Sero laughed in the bloodling's face.
Chronix looked like he was about to fall asleep, when the sound of a gunshot behind him woke him up. All the fighting stopped, almost instantly. Jack and Chronix looked up to see: Sero, with his stolen semi-auto. "Hello." said Sero, smiling.
OOC: (Originally I had said that Panthera had attacked Jack, but I re-read the paragraph and fixed this.) Jack looked up from Diana and over to Chronix. Chronix was out cold. Jack thought he was sleeping and continued to help Diana. Chronix woke up slowly and uneasily got back to his feet, using his sword as a crutch. Jack immediately asked if he was okay. "I'm fine, don't worry about me. I can take care of myself." Chronix said gruffly, brushing himself off and glaring. "You know Jack, if you hadn't told me about the danger, I probably would have been walking down this street just to see a dead princess. We were about twenty feet away, how can you HEAR that far?" Jack smiled. "Extra sensitive hearing, it's a knight thing." "Are you a dragoon knight?" Chronix asked. Jack shook his head. "No, you've got me confused with my mother. I'm a Magi Knight, like my old man."
OOC: (Electrify, nothing too bad. The only time it cuts something in half is when he gets really really really really REALLY mad.) Chronix looked down at his sword. It had acted on its own somehow, as the gears were slowly stopping themselves. Looking back up, he saw the same weird creature he saw earlier coming up on Jack. Chronix didn't do anything because he saw blood on his hand from where the gears had spun into his hand by mistake and immediately fainted.
Chronix realized something was wrong, and jumped into the air and slammed Jack out of his attack and into the paved ground. Jack got up and ran into the alley. "JACK, STOP!" Chronix yelled, and suddenly he threw his arm forward and released a lightning strike from his sword that was bright purple. It was headed for The bloodling.
Jack heard this and glared. He might be putting a life at stake, sure, but he wasn't about to let something bad happen to royalty. Not even if the panther thing, who was busy glaring back at him, said otherwise. Chronix had a flash of worry as he looked up at Jack, who now sped towards the ground as fast as he could. Chronix suddenly had a thought: ~Is Jack a Dragoon Knight?~ There had been stories of the last knights dying out, but maybe... Jack screamed at the bloodling as loud as he could "Make me stop, why don't ya!" Jack knew for a fact that challenging a bloodling was bad, but Jack's bad mouthed, bull headed temper wasn't about to let him stop. Not that he could either way, he didn't know any flight spells. Chronix decided to see what Jack could do, and stopped in his tracks, just inches away from the alley. Jack yelled at him over his shoulder, "Wuss!"
Jack Rounded a corner so fast that he had to run along the side of the wall to keep from falling over sideways. Chronix was struggling to keep up. "For a knight," Chronix said, heaving with pain, "You sure run fast!" Jack looked ahead through squinted eyes and saw, in a dark alleyway, what he was fearing. There was a bloodling. He was holding up a princess, by the looks of it. a strange panther thing was snarling and growling the entire time. Jack saw easily the fear in the princess's eyes and saw her trying to struggle, but the bloodling had her well pinned down. Jack pulled out his spear, ran as fast as he could, and let out a battle cry that startled Chronix. Chronix pulled out his sword and let it scrape the ground to sharpen the blade. Chronix didn't yell, but he did activate his super speed and flew forward. Jack jumped onto a stack of boxes, then onto a rooftop, then off into the alleyway to fight. Chronix just ran with his blade pointing at the target next to his right ear. At the moment, he didn't have time to see what was going on with Jack or how much pain he was in, all he was thinking about was one thing: ~Get ready to die, fiend.~
Chronix's shoes and Jack's heavy iron toed boots made loud thumping and clapping sounds on the pave as they ran, Jack quickly pulling ahead of Chronix, even though Chronix was running faster than a car. "Why the hurry?" Chronix asked, panting slightly. "I told you, there's danger!" Jack said, without the slightest hint of enthusiasm in his voice. "Well, what's so bad about it then?" Jack stopped and turned to face Chronix. Jack said only one word: "Bloodling."
Sero woke up slowly and gazed around his surroundings. He knew from the green liquid gel that he was in a preservation tank. ~Hmph. So the authorities finally caught up with me. Those punks are probably gonna use me as a test subject for the death sentence. Oh well, I've gone through it before. But they'll make sure I'm chained up this time, so no hope this time.~ Sero had been used as a test subject for new death sentences before, and he managed to escape at one point with a semi-auto rifle that he used to add 57 more charges of murder to his count. He counted his crimes: 107 charges of murder, 1st degree 120 charges of assault and battery 9 unpaid car fees 80 charges of speeding 97 charges of kidnapping 407 charges of breaking and entering Sero sighed. He had really done it this time. Then he realized that the building looked to much like Chronix's house to be a jail cell. Sero sighed with relief. ~Well, at least I'm not in an acid chamber in a jail cell. That's a reprieve.~ Sero quietly went back to sleep.
OOC: (If any of you have played FF 1 and 2, you will know that this next city is the town of the Magi. If you have any problems with this city's use, please tell me and I will take it out.) "So wait," Chronix said after listening to the story Jack had told him. "You mean to tell me that you come from a town called Mysidia and that everyone there is a magician, but you were born a royal knight? Right, I'm supposed to believe that's how you got here? And furthermore, that's how you got your gun? I don't think so. Engineers don't miraculously become knights, and Knights would never drop as low as an engineer. What's the deal here?" Jack sighed deeply, not surprised that Chronix didn't believe him. Not many people did. "Well, I'm one of those people who do miraculously become knights. I was born as an engineer, but like you, I wasn't even sure of my own past, so I looked up my family history and found out my father was a knight and my mother was a royal guard, both of whom died five years ago. So my uncle Arron took me in and taught me about engineering. He also taught me how to use one hand to fight with a spear, and the other to shoot my enemies with a gun. It was... Unbalancing. Let's say that." "So then how did you suddenly become a knight? Am I supposed to believe you walked right up to the castle, spoke to the king there and said "My parents were knights, can I be one too please?" Jack smiled and nodded. "That's almost exactly how I played it out too. Except, instead of what you said, I said that Markus Swade and Elena Swade were both knights and that their son Jack Swade has come to claim his place. It was that easy." Jack craned his head suddenly as if he were listening to the silence. "Come on, there's trouble coming." he said, hastily grabbing his spear and holstering his gun. Chronix frowned and grabbed his sword while running out behind Jack.
Chronix woke up in his house, with Sero in a preservation pod right in front of Chronix's computer. Chronix's white hair was now a faint pink as somebody had washed out his hair. Chronix realized his sword was missing, just before he tripped over it. "Oh, there it is." Chronix decided now would be a good time to check in on his Mercenary work again. Starting up his computer, the internet instantly popped on. "Hey, you, don't mess with anything on there, I'm not finished yet with this pod." said a voice from behind Sero. Chronix looked over to see a red haired boy wearing an engineer outfit smoking a cigar. "Besides, this is gonna' be about four more hours before completion." the engineer said lazily. "Who are you?" Chronix asked tensely. "Relax, kid. I found you on the road. You were passed out, then I realized you must have Hemophobia so I took you back here and fixed up your friend. Well, kinda. I'm Jack Swade, just an engineer from another town you probably don't know about." Chronix was definatelly confused. How did this guy carry two 120 pound teenagers all the way back to Valgonia by himself? And, more to that fact, how without any trouble did he do it? Then, Chronix saw that he had a semi automatic Liaison cannon/machine gun laying next to him, along with a spear. Chronix knew that the cannon guns were rare, but this guy must have been lucky to have found one. "I'll tell you more later. For now, just rest." Jack said calmly. Chronix obeyed, feeling a migraine coming on.
OOC: (Sorry if this next part sounds gruesome, I was out of ideas for a while. Is there a rule against gore in this RP?) The countryside was mostly quiet aside from the faint sound of a motorcycle running along the road. Chronix drove as fast as he could away from the city. He was off to visit his friend, Sero Holiday. Chronix smirked. Sero Holiday, the same criminal who had over 200 different crime charges. Sero was on the run, and frequently disguised himself before going into public. Though it never worked that well, Sero managed to get away with it because people usually never recognized his face. Chronix stopped suddenly at the sight of a dead person on the side of the street. Chronix got off the bike and turned the person over. It was Sero. Chronix's eyes went wide. How did anybody manage to get Sero? Was it a bloodling? Had the authorities finally caught up to him? Chronix's mind went into a flurry of thoughts, and it didn't help that he was dizzy and had a rather dangerous case of Hemophobia, fear of sight of blood. Slowly, Chronix began to lose consciousness and collapsed on the street. Sero's blood dyed Chronix's white hair red.
OOC: (Okay, yeah, I'll make sure it doesn't happen often. This is the last appearance of the Angel and that's it.) Chronix was getting tired of the Angel just staring at him like a lost friend, and hefted his sword over his shoulders. "Listen, I'm extremely busy, so if you would please just go away that would be perfect." As if in complete response, the Angel just disappeared into thin air, leaving something glinting behind. "Huh? Oh, it's a pendant. Hmph. I probably should've told her that I'm not one for jewelry. I mean, if I'm gonna' get anything shining and gold, it had better be the pay I'm promised for doing Mercenary work." Slamming the door and locking it so that he wouldn't be tempted to open it to anybody else, Chronix went back to work on his history. The results weren't very clear. He had decided to find his family tree and all he got was a bug in the computer that shut the internet off. Chronix's mind temporarily snapped, and when he woke up, he found he was laying on the floor next to a smoking computer screen that shot off occasional bolts of electricity. Chronix didn't want to use his Magic skills on the computer, be he really couldn't afford a new one, so... "Ah, dammit... Fine. Repair!" The computer instantly fixed the screen, flew back onto the desk, mended the wires back together, Made all cracks on the screen disappear, and plugged itself back in. All the data on his computer came back to life instantly, and Chronix found himself staring at a family tree that said only he was human in his entire family.
OOC: (I was going to wait until after five new posts, but I thought if I post now while everyone but me is logged out, my character's entrance won't sound so unimportant later. But I have a feeling by tomorrow my internet will be down, so I'm posting now ahead of time.) Meanwhile, watching stealthily behind all the crowds, Chronix Gear, the assassin for hire, was about ready to leave when he saw the strange creature. He didn't care much for the princess herself, or how fine the steed looked, in fact, Chronix didn't care about the community and city he lived in, all he cared about most of the time was himself. That is, until he saw the creature. It looked strange, but then again, Chronix's left eye was covered by his hair so he couldn't see well. Deciding it was just a figment of his imagination, Chronix shook his head and left, as he did not care for parades of crowds or the higher-ups. Back at home, Chronix continued his search about his own past when he heard a knock at his door. He glared evilly at the door. It was a common fact that Chronix never smiled, but to get him glaring was suicide. Chronix grabbed his Buster Gear sword and walked angrily towards the door, intending to kill the person on the other side. Until he looked out the window and realized that it was an angel at his door. Chronix frowned. Only the truly special people had Angels coming to call, and as far as he knew, Chronix was not special. Carefully opening the door, Chronix came face to face with the female angel on the other side. "Yes? What do you want? I'm kinda' busy." Chronix was in a bad mood, and would rather not have been disturbed. Then again, Chronix was always in a bad mood.
ooc: Oh! Hi! I didn't realize you guys were on. The last I checked, everyone but me was logged off.
