Sitting in the corner Cerdic read through the journal. While he didn't really understand what was going on in the journal, the more he saw his name, the more annoyed he got. Cerdic began to mumble to himself about the things he was reading, about the birds with the yellow eyes. "Come on, come on, come on. There has to be something more useful in here. What the hell is going on?" Letting the anger get the better of him, Cerdic stopped really even trying to understand what was in the journal. To him it felt like a mad mans rambling. By the time he hit the last readable page, Cerdic had enough with it. He ripped out the page and crumpled it in his had. Shoving the journal in the pocket on the inside of his coat, he turned to the gate. The crumpled piece of paper held firm in his hand. Marley soon came up to him speaking in a tone that Cerdic found rather offensive.

"If you want to know look yourself." Anger was more than evident in Cerdic's voice as he shoved the crumpled paper at Marley's chest, not caring if they grabbed it before he dropped the paper and pushed past Marley. "Lets just catch up to the others, and maybe murder someone in the process." Cerdic said dryly referring to Aevum as the person that he wanted to murder. He didn't even look back to see if the others were following him before heading to the gate with full intent on leaving the area.

~Time skippidy Skip again cause people need to be introduced.~
It took a couple days to travel, a couple days in which Aeradel was starting to get rather sick of the company that she was keeping. She missed the days of just her and her siblings hiding out and looking out for each other. For the most part, Andrus didn't scout ahead like he was supposed to, instead choosing to stick close to Rayen. Rayen was never far from Aeradel and refused to talk with the other members of their party, even going as far as to whisper in Aeradel's ear so she could respond to things for her. Aeradel hated to bring them along with her when she knew that this mission could get dangerous. But with her was the only place that Aeradel knew was at least somewhat safe. They were being hunted. Even if Aeradel left them in a town with people who would take care of them, she would always wonder if the demons had found her siblings yet. She wouldn't have been able to do what she needed to do if she left her siblings behind.

As it was reaching evening of the second day, the mountain village came into sight.
"Here we are. Andrus go check for danger." Thankfully, he listened this time, taking off from Rayens shoulder and flying over the village, circling before returning to Rayen and nodding in Aeradel's direction. "Well it looks like we are clear." Aeradel told the others as she moved her hood up to obscure her face slightly as she walked into town. While she knew that she should trust this town, she still was cautious, and always kept in front of her sister. Most people in the town seemed weary of their presence there, but this was to be predicted from the mountain people. They tended not to be fond of outsiders. Once Aeradel was certain for herself that there were no demons or anyone out of the ordinary here, she pulled down her hood so people could see who they were. "Please be polite and do not, under any circumstances act hostile." Aeradel said under her breath to everyone with her before approaching the center of the settlement.

Ananta finally ran up and Aislinn signed a little bit at the help, but the help came a little late as the remaining few guards fled from them... or was it from the creature that she caught sight of out of the corner of her eye. Quasimodo soon pointed out the creature as well and Aislinn fully turned int he attention of it. "Don't worry we will protect them. Stay with the captain!" Aislinn told Quasimodo still worried about their injured friend. After making the demand she took off sprinting, disregarding any injuries that she had gotten during the battle. Perhaps it wasn't a good idea, but as long as people were in danger she was not going to stop. She could not risk more innocent lives. Aislinn so desperately wished that she could have gone after Esmeralda, but the need of the masses came first.

Daeni didn't seem willing to give up the book so easily, but he didn't have time for her stupid antics. What did she think he was going to do with it? What did one normally do with a book? He would read it. What he did after that depended on what was inside the journal. If there was nothing off too much importance to anything in it, then Daeni could hold onto it and whine about it all she wanted. If it was something of dire importance or something dangerous then he might destroy it, though Daeni didn't need to know that.

Cerdic, not wanting to try and talk Daeni into things, simply put all his effort into ripping the book straight from Daeni's hand before running away from her towards a corner where Daeni could grab the book back. He then frantically flipped through the pages, scanning them, reading them for anything important that might come up to do with the memory that he had. He wanted to know what exactly happened to them and how it worked when Aevum said they gave him the darkness. If this had the answers then he would be satisfied to some extent. It still wouldn't clear everything up most likely but it was a step in the right direction. He tried to hide the journal as he looked at it, he didn't want others to see what he was looking at until he finished.

A small smile crossed Aislinn's face as she saw Luna get the child to safety. It was starting to feel like they were actually doing some good even if Aislinn was mostly just hurting people. It bothered her on a moral level that she was pushed to this point, but there was no choice left. While Luna dealt with the mother of the child, accepting their thanks and then getting them to leave, Aislinn had to keep the guards away. She, by herself was not much of a wall, there was only so much she could do at once, but she had to try. Traps were also not her specialty. Aislinn just had to do what she could and hope that Luna could handle the rest, meaning she was forced to let a few guards slip past, but in exchange she had another five occupied by just her alone. Even if she was tired and slightly injured, these guards were nothing compared to her. With one long breath she let herself go on them men around her, keyblade twirling and slashing as she tried to take guards down, one by one by one.

It wasn't as hard as Aislinn would have thought to get rid of the first three. Perhaps she was not the only one who was starting to get tired through this fight. However before her attention could turn to the other two, she heard a guard yelling about getting a gypsy witch. Aislinn turned just in time to see Luna free herself from the hold of the man and take some of the guards out. She was relieved that Luna could take care of herself. It wasn't that Aislinn minded helping, but there were more guards that needed dealt with. There was enough time for Aislinn to take out one more of the said guards before more yelling started. This time when Aislinn turned Luna was not so fortunate.

"Looks like play time is over." She said the the last guard standing near her. With one vicious slash she took him out, not even pausing long enough to see him sink to his knees before turning in the direction of Luna, rushing to her aid. "Who are you to be insulting her? How many of you did it take to take down one young woman focused on protecting the innocent? You know the job that you are supposed to be doing?" Aislinn said as she approached. There was a fire in her eyes. No one threatened her companions and got away with it. "Look around girly, you are still out numbered." One taunted her but Aislinn only laughed. "The way I see it is that you are running a little low on numbers. By myself I was able to take out half of you. What do you think the last few of you can do?" She asked him before her foot swung around and connected with his face. She smiled at Luna, a smile telling her to be ready. Right after that Aislinn set of twirling between four guards that had been trying to hold down Luna, their focus now on the girl who had taken down so many of them before. Because Aislinn was being cautious not to hurt Luna, or get Luna hurt through her fighting, she ended up taking a few more hits then she intended. Blood dripped down her right arm and down her back from two cuts she had received. Her cloak was all but useless now, and her cheek was starting to puff up from a punch she had received during the chaos, but still Ailsinn fought. She was going to win, she had to win, to protect this world when she couldn't protect her own.

Chrono was probably right that the man didn't live here, especially when she heard the sound of glass breaking and such, but still Tinarah couldn't help but feel bad about it. She felt wrong just walking in their, and Chrono's assurance did little to make her feel better. Staring ahead at the manor she could occasionally see movement and moved as close as she could to Chrono. In one hand she held her keyblade, not willing to let go of her only form of self defense. In the other hand she had her violin case. She didn't want to leave it anywhere. If there was a safe place to put it, maybe she would set it down for this, she didn't want it to be harmed after all. That being said she didn't see any safe place off the bat and she didn't want to take chances with her mothers violin. She was terrified it would be stolen and she would never get it back if she left it anywhere at all.

Slowly Chrono started forward, leading the way towards the manor, and Tinarah stuck close behind him. She could hear the man from inside talking in a rather frustrated voice. To some extent she was curious about what had him so upset, but not enough to ask. When the bookcase flew near them and crashed, Tinarah jumped and looked back at the gate, suddenly really wanting to leave. Of course this was not an option, not when the hooded man rounded the corner soon after all the books hit the ground. They both stopped for a moment, staring at each other. Tinarah stepped behind Chrono a bit as he seemed to be looking her over. There was a slight "eek" that escaped Tinarah's lips over actual words when he told them to state their business. She froze up, not knowing what to tell him. His tone was harsh and Tinarah started to get reminded of when she had been attacked. She physically trembled a little bit as she kept her eyes averted from the man. Tinarah hoped that Chrono would do something about it. She had been strong enough to leave her house, but apparently she didn't have the courage to go past that. In reality she was not strong at all and still relied heavily on her brother.

As Tinarah hid her eyes scanned the floor just as a way to keep herself from looking up and scaring herself more. Her eyes were drawn to spots of red, in which she followed to his hand that was clenched at his side. She bit her lip swallowing the lump in her throat before stating something rather obvious.
"Your bleeding." Her voice was timid, but there was a tone of worry to it, and not worry for herself, but for him. She couldn't explain why she cared, but all she knew was that she hated seeing people hurting and just wanted to help, even if she didn't know how. After she spoke she immediately shrunk back again, scared that he would get mad at her. As she did, out of the corner of her eye. The dim light that she entered had now disappeared to darkness. It only made this entire encounter worse for her as her eyes flickered to her brother wondering if they would leave soon.

Forty, there were only about forty of them left. Aislinn took a moment to count how many were left as soon as she found a moment to get to the side and breath. She took a moment to fill her lungs, her eyes scanning the crowds of guards tearing through the streets. She watched as she as the guards tried to go after the innocent people fleeing from the scene. Ailsinn wanted to just jump right back in and help everyone, protect them while they escaped, however she would be no use to anyone if she couldn't keep herself upright. That was why she had to take that moment to rest, even if it was giving the guards a chance to advance on the civilians. There was at least still Luna and Ananta to do things, even if Aislinn wasn't actually sure what Ananta was doing at the moment. It wasn't that she wasn't paying attention either, she just hadn't seen Ananta do anything. It felt mean saying that Ananta wasn't doing anything, perhaps that was not true at all, after all Aislinn had been distracted with her own battles, but she did start to wonder. Either way it wasn't Ananta that Aislinn had to concern herself with. As long as as no one got hurt, and she could help Stratos pass the Mark of Mastery along with herself, what happened with Ananta was not her primary concern.

With a her lungs full of air once more, Aislinn turned back her attention to the guards and smiled slightly to them. She didn't enjoy hurting people but if she made them nervous, that was always a good thing. If she could make them nervous and they mess up, then that would be a benefit for her. Instead of turning back in the way Frollo dragged Esmeralda, Aislinn had to go the other way, towards the people who the guards were going after. The majority took priority, then she could help Esmeralda after. She needed to help, and so she ran after the guards who were nearing Luna and those who she was protecting.
"I got your back." Aislinn told Luna as she stepped in and taking the first guard by surprise. After that they noticed her and there was no more surprises. While that made things more difficult it was predictable. "So you are back are ya? Stupid girl. You are outmatched and practically beat already." One of the guards mocked her, but Aislinn had none of that. Instantly she was set moving, twisting around and slashing at the guards.

"The only stupid people here are those who think it is okay to hurt the innocent." Aislinn said, her voice more harsh than it normally was, a warning for the guards not to mess with her, especially right now. She wasn't in a good mood after that last trip of her, so now she was ready to just rid herself of the guards so that she could actually help those who helped her. She wasn't going to let them get away with this, and the guards stood between her and her saving Esmeralda and keeping Quasimodo and Pheobus safe. Three more went down in her wake as sweat dripped down her forehead. Almost there, she kept reminding herself that they were almost there. As long as no more guards showed up then they would be fine. If they did, Aislinn would be seriously concerned with this cities priorities. She already was to some extent. Who needed a hundred guards to go after one person? How were a hundred guards not able to take three woman? Did they get no training and simply were handed a sword and pushed out here or something? It was kind of sad when you thought about it.

"Are you sure you are ready for another mission already?" Doctor Stein asked the two students in front of him while adjusting the screw in his head. "Okay if you insist, just take it easy you two." Stein told them as he examined Blake for any signs that she wasn't alright to do the mission. When he was satisfied that there wasn't any reason that she shouldn't go, he caved. "Your mission is to go after the Kishin soul that prioritizes money. He is a thief but on a large scale, he tends to go towards bigger targets such as oil shipments. The investigator who had been working on the case mysteriously disappeared when some believe he was close to solving it. You two need to find out who the Kishin is, where he is, and stop him. I would suggest checking at the investigators office, or the docks where the last shipment of oil was taken. Good luck." Stein handed them papers with information on the locations of the docks and investigators office. The addresses were for Vancouver Canada, and that was where Blake and Kuro were off to now.

This battle was starting to drag on and Aislinn was getting so done with it. There was enough guards that it almost felt like it was the plan to exhaust Aislinn before they completely took her out. Perhaps she was just a game to them, a toy to see how far they could push before she collapsed. She knew that they thought that she was a gypsy, and from what Aislinn could tell they didn't really treat gypsies like real people. So it was possible that she was being treated like a toy for their own gain. At the same time there was fear in their eyes, she could see that they weren't that they should be fighting her, but it was an order, so they were following. Aislinn just feared what they would do to her if she was beaten by them. She wondered if they would kill her outright or take their time, perhaps she would just be arrested. The dark thoughts swirled through her mind as she twisted on phantom wind slashing at those around her. The shouts of the men that she was fighting slowly becoming like the music that she was dancing to.

Men were falling around her but not as quickly as before. She began to feel a little dizzy now, having fought so much on her own. In the midst of her attacks, Aislinn ended up tripping over one of the guards that was downed and she fell faced first. Hitting the ground her keyblade skidded across the ground away from her. It was a matter of moments before she was surrounded by guards.
"Give up gypsy scum. You are never going to win. I am sure that Frollo will be pleased if I bring him another." A guard stood over her, laughing at her as she was sprawled out on the ground, more guards soon joining him. Aislinn was getting annoyed and her breathing was still ragged. She had to get herself out of the situation, but it was getting harder. Her elbows shook as she pushed herself up to a kneeling position as guards continued to mock her. As she slowly pushed herself up, getting one foot under her, the guard kicked her over again, making sure she stayed down. For a moment Aislinn played the part, pretending to be defeated and let the guards boast, a few leaving to deal with Ananta and Luna.

As soon as the backs were turned and less eyes were on her, Aislinn reached out, at first it looked like it was in desperation, but as she did, her keyblade appeared back in her hand and Aislinn's feet were soon under her. She did not have time to get up without the guards reacting, so instead she swept her leg around, knocking the closest's guards to her to the ground. Once they were done, she was on her feet while some of the guards that left came running back.
"Don't let the gypsy escape!" One of the guards ordered, drawing more attention on Aislinn who was feeling a little out of it as it was. That didn't mean she was going to stop, she couldn't afford to stop, and it it kept people away from the civilians than so be it. She would just need to start being more careful about her movements. She couldn't afford another slip up like that again. They were half way there, she needed to keep going, just a little longer. If she could last that last little bit then she would be fine and have a chance at saving Esmeralda. Aislinn let those thoughts replace the darker ones that had been in her mind before, not allowing them any more room to grow and hinder her.

Aislinn's arms started to throb thanks to the slash she had taken earlier when speaking with Luna. Aislinn didn't blame Luna for this of course, communicating with the team was an important matter and she liked to know about what others were doing so she could watch their backs. It was Aislinns own fault that she got hurt, she let herself get too distracted and paid the price for that. She should have been more careful when listening to her team. She should have been more vigilant. Her teacher had warned her of such things, it was her biggest flaw. The moment that she got distracted from her little dance like fighting routine, she couldn't really bring herself back to the fight. Her mind was on one thing or another, very rarely it was on numerous things at once, not when it came to the chaos of combat. It was a mistake that could prove fatal one day. It was something that she would have to work on and she always tried to work on. Slowly she would get better with it, and every day was work. The fact that Aislinn was able to move out of the way enough to only get a nick on her arm was proof that she was getting better. A year ago, training with her teacher, he would have got a nice slap in the back from his training sword. While at the time it was annoying and she thought that she could work through it, now it seemed as though some of the skills he was trying to teach her about at the time were more necessary than she would have like to admit. She spent a lot of time practicing on her own, blowing off that part of the training in favour of perfecting her own style of fighting, and now in a real battle she had to take a pause from that fighting in order to heal herself.

A greenish light fell over Aislinn as she paused for the moment to cast a cura spell on herself. During this time she was able to keep more of an eye and ear out for her enemies. They were starting to narrow out now, thank goodness, and a few were focused on Luna, but more seemed worried about her. It wasn't that Luna was not a threat, she was just as much of a threat as Aislinn was, but in the end Luna was defending the innocent, Aislinn was after a gypsy that was seen as bad to them. She was the bigger worry and thus she had to worry more about the guards swarming her as she slowly started to tire herself out. Her breaths started to get a little ragged as Aislinn took up a defensive stance for the moment. She had to take a moment to catch her breath. Trying to block the attacks of guards didn't give her much time to catch her breath but it was better then her spinning around and moving constantly.

After blocking a few shots she was able to parry a blow and throw herself back into the battle. Her movements were slightly slower than they had been before, but they were still strong and accurate. She still did the damage that she needed to and took down a few more guards. She didn't let herself stop again, the moment she did she knew exhaustion would set in more than it did before. Her mind was focused only on the battle for now. While there was more at stake, and greater goals to focus on, all she could manage was the battle. Once that was over then she could go after Frollo and save Esmeralda from him clutches. She didn't know what his deal was with her, Aislinn didn't really understand what to be a gypsy even really meant, but it didn't matter. A human was in trouble and she had to help.

"Good thinking Luna, I will clear a way to help Esmeralda while you help the people." Aislinn shouted back at breaking her near trance like state for a moment in order to properly communicate with her team. That break in focus on fighting didn't come without a cost. As Aislinn turned back to the guards one was taking advantage of her distraction and was attempting to strike at her. Twirling around, Aislinn tried to get out of his way and use her cloak to to cover and confuse, but she was slightly too slow for that. Before she could get completely out of the way the cold metal bit into her flesh, causing Aislinn to cry out slightly in shock more than pain. The guards gave a chuckle thinking that they had won with that little scratch, but Aislinn was not done yet, not by a long shot. While blood dripped down her arm, Aislinn just calmed herself. In order to do things effectively, she needed to keep her cool about her and let her mind let go of all distractions, including the pain.

Aislinn's eyes looked like they were closing, and they were, but her ears were open, taking the time to listen to the men around her. Some seemed confused for a moment at Aislinns act of ignoring. However it didn't take them long to get over the confusion and try to attack. The moment that they did Aislinn moved, sweeping low under their swords, her leg sweeping out tripping a couple of them while the other tow collided with each other due to the momentum with nowhere to go. Aislinn's eyes shot open as she began her dance once more. Her movements were fluid as she jumped over fallen bodies of the soldiers she had tripped. Aislinn was not willing to strike the men while they were down. If they were smart they would stay down. If they weren't then she would have no problem bashing their faces in before they could do anymore harm to her. She was not going to take chances when it came to this, not when innocent lives were on the line.

Of course the guards were not smart and decided to get off their butts and fight her again, but that was not a problem. It didn't seem like she was paying attention to what they were doing but, that was not the case. She knew everything around her, she was paying attention just keeping her movements and glances subtle, using more than just her eyes to sense what was going on around her. She listened to their movements, helping her know where there were. While it wasn't fool proof, she also couldn't look in every direction at once. As long as Aislinn kept moving she was able to avoid most attacks, though her cloak did not come out unscathed. around her guards fell. She didn't dare kill anyone of them but she did knock out several and those that she didn't knock out she wounded enough that they couldn't get up and pursue them anymore. She did not particularly enjoy the fighting, but Aislinn was able to shut off her emotions long enough to do what was needed done so that they could save the people who had saved them during their entire time here. And while saving Esmeralda didn't align with their quest to save the man, she could not leave her, not when it was partly their fault she was in trouble. If they didn't stop to help her, then even if Aislinn passed the Mark of Mastery, she could never call herself a master. Even if this was a test and not much more.
