Qing had been expecting more questions from the other two, but considering how heavy Enok seemed to go on the questions, she figured that would suffice. Qing smiled and said, "There is someone just outside of Lezaphel. Their name is Cori and they will be taking you all there. On their cart with you is a shipment of potatoes,, it seems weird but, if you've ever been to the Serpentside, you would know potatoes don't grow there, but they are an essential food source for the people there to make flour and dough. And since there's been some panic because of recent events, they need people to bring the food down there." Qing reached into her pocket and pulled out a small piece of paper, it was sealed with wax and a stamp that roughly translated to 'my light' and she got up from her chair and walked over to Enok, "But since you asked, I need you to bring this letter to someone. You may recognize the name: their name is Gotthilf Novenun. They are a dear friend of mine." she held the letter out and said, "I want you to take care of it. Please make sure it is not opened before it gets to him." Qing stared at him for a long moment before saying, "You must be the tradesman, Enok Wendell, yes? Although you are not famous among the traders, I did hear about the tradesman who sought out adventure and was reliable. I wouldn't have sent for you if I didn't have good trust in you." She kept the letter held out, but her hands were shaking a bit with age, "I need not know any information. We may be a family of scholars, but we do not need any of you to seek out information specifically. If information is given to you for us, please take it and give it to us. If you wish to record your adventures in a journal or log, please do so. But once the trip to the Serpentside is made, and the letter and potatoes are given, your mission is a success. The journey back will be easier than the journey there. Going down a hill is easier than coming up one. And you will of course all be compensated for your time and generosity."
REEEEEEEEEEE
Kathi listened to the man describe his experience there and she had to keep herself from stopping cold upon hearing him. She continued leading in the direction of the ship, trying to avoid thinking about it. She knew she was being rudely quiet, especially since the guy just dropped something like that. Finally Kathi spoke up, "Well, at least you don't have to only wait for death anymore. I'm sorry to hear that you went through that." it was all she could really make herself say. Kathi was a bit out of it right then, and she was hoping, since Garrett would have been of remembering age, that he wouldn't bring up the fact she was an Everlasting survivor. Things in this case would match up perfectly, and Kathi did not want to talk about it. She liked people forgetting she had not been on the Resilient for the first 7 years of her life. But she did not recognize John. The name was not even ringing a bell to her. If she knew his job designation maybe but... she was not going to ask that. Especially not if John thought they were going to put him right to work. They got to the ship and Jael was waiting outside, he motioned for everyone who was standing idle by the doors to make way so they could get through to bring him to medical. He kind of looked at Kathi and asked, "So, 125?" "65. If you wanna mark it for less, you can." "Wh-" "I'm not worried about getting paid back, Lieutenant." Kathi admitted before shutting off again, Jael wasn't gonna fight it unless someone higher rank said something.
Kaida pointed to Stratos with thumbs up like ay thanks for saving me, then she ran on over to the next chest and opened it up and said, "Oh wait, it's just Glen. Nevermind." and she shut the chest again. Waited five seconds before opening it up going, "I'm just kidding, come on out." Kaida freed Glen
Kaida saw D'daear was finally free from his death trap so she decided to heal him up. Kaida used cure on D'daear

Kio nodded at Enok's question and replied, "Yeah, something about the letter makes me feel like this is a direction in my life I need to take. It's like the Gods placed this path before me, and it just feels right." Kio went to go and stand up so he could look at everyone clearer, and his short height could really be seen when he stood there. He shifted his hair out of his face before he heard the door open. And the guard who had been outside the door opened the door and said, "Sit down all of you, either at the table or the couches." Kio ended up moving over towards the table, just by the fireplace, despite being closer to the couch. Mainly because there was food there, and it looked like good food. After everyone was sitting down at the table, the guard began, "I don't want any of you doing anything that will put ths person in danger, do you under-" "Heng, are you being overly worried?" an old, frailer sounding voice broke out as a wrinkled hand landed on the tall man's shoulder. Behind him in the door way was an elderly woman with a smile on her face as she looked over at the group. The older woman stepped forward and Heng shut the door with slightly annoyance at the older woman's non-concern for her own safety. She walked over with much youth to her step, despite the fact it was clear she was up in her older ages. She reached a chair that was right at the end of the table and before she sat down, she bowed to the group before saying, "Thank you for choosing to come here. I know you all must have busy lives and schedules, and being able to partake in this means quite a lot to me." Heng walked over and moved the chair out so the older woman could sit down and she rolled her eyes and said, "Heng, you're being too polite. I can pull out my own seat and sit down. But thank you." she gave him a pat on the shoulder once more before sitting down in the chair and looking at them and saying, "It is nice to meet you, my name is Qing Vegh. I am one of the High Elders of the Vegh Family." For the families, the High Elders were the parents, great-grandparents, aunts, and uncles of the Heads of the High Families. They tended to be the committee spoken to about changes in rules for the family, or if any major decisions were being made that affected the overall clan. Most High Elders were unknown, but this one was different. Qing used to be the Head of the Vegh Family. She was seen for years standing there to do work, but her husband had passed when she was young and raising her four children and became a known figure that represented the idea of hard work and the bond of a family. She was removed from her position when her children were old enough to marry and take her place. Qing folded her hands on her lap and said, "I know the letter covered the bare minimum of what you need to know. It was written and explained that you would be journeying to the Serpentside, and that the journey would not be an easy one. But we needed you, because right now, our families must stay here to take care of Lezaphel. But I expect you all have questions first, before I go into the details. Maybe those questions will take care of the details, two for one deals are great." Qing chuckled to herself for a moment, finding humor in her last comment, before immediately calming herself down once again to a professional demeanor, "But I would rather you all understand as much information as I am able to give you. There are some things I might not be able to answer, but I'm sure we won't run into that problem."
I DISAPPROVE HEAVILY OF THE RESULT.
"Take you to medical and try to fix you up a little, or at least get that new bruiser on your eye iced." Kathi replied straight away as she left the office with the human and Garrett, "Or... others are going to take you to medical." she eyed Garrett out of the corner of her eye, "While I'm most likely gonna get a talking to. Er, anyway." she turned to the guy and asked, "What's your name?" she wasn't gonna keep addressing him as the human, or the slave. That wouldn't be awkward at all. Nope.
Kathi nodded at the slaver, she was able to pay that amount fine, especially since they seemed to conclude on that. She decided to walked towards the office to sign the paperwork and the money. Jael was going to follow but he stopped when he heard Dania asked for an update. So Kathi kept going. She had no idea if the commander was going to follow, but she had a pretty good feeling he would. She made sure to put the rest of the money into the cat and corked it again, and she had the money on hand ready. She went into the office once invited, ready with her money to pay the agreed amount. Jael sighed deeply and took a step back and placed his hand up to the comm, "So, Ensign Rierson took matters into her own hands and bid on the human, now they're going through payment processes. Granted, I think this was probably a more peaceful route than what we intended, but we weren't expecting it." Jael was walking back to the ship and asked, "Is everyone accounted for right now? Everything needed to be bought, bought?"
The fee amount was far greater than she expected, she picked up the ceramic cat and turned it around to reveal a cork at the bottom. She opened it up and she caught the kuffles inside. She shuffled the coins around in her hand, she took out the coins that weren't kuffles. Kathi had about 10,000 yen in there, which she moved to her pocket so she wouldn't lose those, and she had 10 US dollars. When she moved away the unneeded currencies, including small amounts in different alien monies, until she was left with 155 kuffles. Kathi looked nervous and she didn't even look over at Garrett as she said in English, "Commander Garrett, I only have 155. I hadn't expected the fees to make it cost this much more..." Jael walked over at this point to listen to the interaction and heard Kathi's comment on the fees, Jael looked over at the ensign and asked, "How much was it in fees?" "30 for transfer. 80 for documentation." Kathi answered. Jael looked back at the booth and saw the clear written print that said 10 for transfer and 20 for documentation. He pointed to it and said in the trade common tongue, "This says 10 for transfer and 20 for documentation for all slaves. We should be paying that, but what if we payed 20 and 30 instead?" he figured that would at the very least make the alien not feel like he cut too big a loss. But Jael thought the alien was trying to take advantage of the difficulty of written trade common, and he didn't like that one bit.
Kaida hit because she's **** at cure and needs the mp for stopra Kaida attacked for 54 damage
Kaida hit them again, not feeling tired in the slightest but still worried how the overall outcome would be. Kaida attacked for 27 damage
The woman at the front nodded at Enok before saying, "Very well. Come this way." and she led him up towards the room. She was grateful there had been a little bit of time between this one and the last two, but no one was noticing all the people heading towards the same room. That was good, since it made her job a lot easier. She led him to the room and ushered for him to come in first. She then closed the door and knocked on the bookshelf, as was the usual path, and the bookshelf opened up. The man on the other end seemed to look at Enok for a little longer than he did the rest of them, before he waved him in and said, "Alright, this way." and led him down the hallway. --- "It's nice to meet you two then." Kio replied with smile, he watched how Stella seemed to trip and fall and he saw how flustered she got and he turned a little more towards her and reached his hand out and a soft white light appeared and reached out, almost welcomingly towards her. She should have felt a very pleasant sensation where her rug burns were, and after a minute the light disappeared and her redness and irritation should have been gone and he said, "S-sorry, I should have asked. You just-just looked like you were trying to tough it out... eh.. hehe..." he scratched the back of his head and said, "I hope I didn't freak you out." Right then, the man opened up the door to let Enok in and he said to the four in the room, "It will be soon, just wait a little longer." and he shut the door behind Enok. Masaccio looked over and asked to any of them, "So um... what do you guys do for a living? I work in the Zaphen Chapel as a healer."
Kaida was still a little disappointed over the fact the fire didn't do much more, so she chose not to waste her time with it again. Kaida charged up to Mizrabel and gave her a few good hits again. When she got a few in she slid back to give others their turns, and she checked around to see the others healing trying to get more of them up. This fight sure was fun, especially considering Hikaru was pretty much knocked out of the ring in just this attack. Ignoring the fact he was hit twice. Kaida attacked for 27 damage
Kathi had remained standing in the crowd and listened to commands orders. While they wanted the ensigns off the station, and while they had their own plans, Kathi had stood there just in case some form of backup was needed. But the bidding slowed down basically to a crawl around 60 Kuffles, and Kathi picked up a small ceramic cat she had on hand, she looked at it for a moment before realized, this was going very slow and the guy was being sold for an amount she had on her due to her constant slip outs for trade. She stared at the cat and when the next bid was almost about to close, Kathi raised her hand in the way they were instructed to bid. Since she knew command was watching, Kathi had a feeling she was about to get an earful of breaking protocol. But there was something about this guy she couldn't put her finger on, and she didn't want trade negotiations she knew higher command had to be broken because they would have stolen a relatively cheap slave. Kathi heard Jael's voice in her ear reply after a moment of silence, "Ensign Rierson, what the hell are you doing?"
Kaida was a little embarrassed by how quickly she went down, and the pain sure didn't help but she was gonna tucker through it. She decided this time it was probably better to open up the chests, since not doing it last time was a stupid choice. Kaida ran over to the chest and opened it up so Ignis was out again and chuckled nervously and said, "H-hey, you're free! Um, sorry that took so long..." Kaida freed Ignis
Hey, I know I literally just went to Unicornis but with the recent back cover release, I decided I wanted to head back to my home union Anguis, if y'all with have me.
Kaida was not feeling too good. Considering she got knocked out and then locked in a chest, the heal was definitely appreciated. She got up and reconfigured herself before noticing Mizrabel looked ready to attack again, so Kaida decided to get a little bit of damage in while she could. She charged up a spell at the witch and fired it at her, hoping it would do a little damage. Kaida used Fira
Kathi backed off when he spoke that way, knowing that if she showed disrespect it was probably going to be worse if she started something. Kathi backed off and looked at the man on stage before gently bringing her hand up to her ear and saying in English, "Um, command? I know we're supposed to be looking for supplies right now, but I just ran into a slave trade and there's a human on the block. Um, what do?" She let go of the button and dropped her hand keeping the signal up for a response, but if no one gave her a response, she wasn't exactly going to let a human be sold. Not on her terms, but she wasn't going to try and start a war either.
