I strongly disagree with this, to put it kindly. Atheists usually have a sense of morality all the same, the major difference being that they don't believe that their deeds are judged by a higher being.
According to them their actions and the consequences thereof share only a direct and visible link; the whole eternity prospect vanishes.
Not saying that all differences apply to all theists by the way.

Your talent of describing pain and suffering is eerily admirable, and the way you shape it into a metaphor is stunning and saves you from being labeled as a literary Marilyn Manson ("shock for the sake of shock"). Perhaps you should have hinted at that metaphor a bit sooner. That's all I have to say on it though. It looks great as it is. Kudos to you.

There are plenty of people in my direct entourage who openly admit to smoking pot and having tried something heavier than that with intelligence levels (and I don't mean "book smart") that I can't ever hope to achieve. No, I definitely don't support childofturin here.

Pedestrians give directions. People on the internet give links.

Has spending more time with them to get to know them better ever crossed your mind? I suggest you consider it. You'd be surprised at how much it can resolve.
