Cara laughed, "I don't think anyone but the personas can. Once you've lived through a thousand lives and more...you start to forget the little details. It's always been a man or a child that's made me continue the cycle. Never, though, my sister. No, she always dies." She focused her brown eyes on Hattori, "If you find the courage to tell Minato the whole truth, maybe...I can find the courage to face Orphan and end this cycle of torment and misery."
He gave up the argument since he agreed with her and followed her up, "Work? What work?"
Cara mumbled, "At least you know what you are. What kind of human is left by gods with a persona bound to her soul? I can't forget those nights when it was lightning and raining and Orphan would be afraid. I could hear their cries of fright in my sleep." Zalera echoed out to them, "...it's always been a mystery to me why you have a twin every time you're reborn....Lesa was not there when you were created the first time..."
Zane studied him as he laughed, "Realization that he can't kill me. Not by himself and he has no friends in Florence. Unless you plan on making friends with the Templars?" Zane touched her red cheek, "Honestly, what makes most people snap like this is simply grief." Ryku slowed his laughter and calmed himself, "You think you're so smart!" He fled from the cemetary. Leaving Zane to frown in his wake and kneel in front of his sister's grave, "Forgive me Annabelle..."
Zalera faded away, back into hiding within Cara and she sighed, "That's why I can't destroy Orphan or else I would've long ago. Each time I'm brought back, Zalera finds me...we bond...I find something I want to keep forever...I fight Orphan...and I die." She couldn't explain it any better than that. Orphan might destroy everything she cared about in that life, but he couldn't destroy her. It was a frustrating cycle but so far in this life, Lesa was the only thing she cared about.
Ryku backhanded Mya, "Quiet!" Zane gripped the front of his shirt as Ryku began to laugh hysterically. Putting him down, Zane examined Ryku. The wild gleem in his eyes, the sadistic curve of his mouth, and the painfully pale color of his skin showed Zane more than necessary, "Leave it be Mya, he's clearly gone insane." Ryku clutched at his sides, "You...have no idea....what...wh-what I have in s-store for you!" Ryku backhanded her, "Quiet!" Zalera added in, "There has always been something she fights to keep...a memory...she doesn't rememeber for now, but her son is the reason she kept the cycle going last time. Orphan made sure she wanted to live...he's...not himself...Orphan holds my sister as a part of him...Eden, the seraph of life...I too, do not wish for her to die...I'm sorry Cara, I have influenced your decision...
Zalera wouldn't speak them. He wrote on the ruined table in frost again. 'To destroy one is to destroy the other. Killing me means to sacrifice your soul. You'll never be reborn again as anything. The eternal essence of Cara will be erased from the world's lifestream.' Cara felt the need to makes sense of the partially confusing little riddle, "If I kill Orphan, I'm destroying my soul forever. I won't come back, Zalera will be mistressless and everyone else will forget who I am or ever was to them."
Cara nodded, "For all of eternity until one of us is destroyed." She thumped her head back down on the table and Zalera stopped his eerie chuckle, "...Orphan can only be destroyed by it's counterpart...unfortunately, that counterpart is...Cara herself...Each time she is reborn, she chooses not to destroy Orphan...his words...have affected her...
Cara couldn't explain, she had no idea. Zalera turned his attention to him, "...Long before you were born...a creature like us was left by the gods...along with a girl...this girl and the creature felt they'd been abandoned by the gods...thus calling itself Orphan... he drew a picture of a half hidious creature and half a beautiful woman fused together and a girl standing before them that looked, if she looked close enough, exactly like Cara. "...The girl could control death...me...but Orphan was jealous...it wanted the gods to come back and reflourish the land...sacrificing thousands of people, it was forced to a halt by the girl and I... he stopped on a chuckle that sent shivers up Cara's spine.
Zalera's shamaness' scream ended and he folded up his wings with a chilling whisper, "...stop dwelling on your sister...fate has a different path for her...Orphan should be our priority..." Cara wanted to hide from Zalera's truth. She breathed out it's name, "Orphan..."
Cara groaned, "But I won't be there to protect her." Zalera clawed the frosted table with his wing and unfurled both his wings, letting the shamaness' scream reverberate through the house. Cara covered her ears and cried out, "Stop it!"
Zane spit the blood from his mouth carefully onto the grass, "I won't fight you. You're still my brother-in-law and that means the promise I made Annabelle is still in effect." Ryku moved to hit him again and Zane caught his fist before it connected, "But that doesn't mean I won't stop you from hitting me." Ryku gritted his teeth, "I should've known poisoning you wouldn't be enough to kill you! I should've just ended it when I had the chance!" Zane frowned, "You would kill your family? Annabelle's family? Ryku, you can't hate me forever for something that happened a long time ago. Tell me, when did she die?" Ryku pulled away from him, "Four years ago! Four short years ago my beloved Annabelle died!" Zane's frown deepened, "I was 18? I'd spent eight years in under the Creed's protection before my sister died?" Ryku trembled and looked like he was about to explode when Zane hit him, "Damn you, I was an adult! You could've found me then! It wasn't that hard! Just ask around for a boy who killed Templars for a living!" Zane tackled him and slammed him into the dirt, "You should've told me earlier. Why wait four more years to find me?!" Ryku coughed underneath his wieght, "Because i didn't have the right tools to kill you yet." he gasped, "I wanted you dead!" Zane snorted, "Well it looks like you blew that chance." He hit him but no matter how good it felt to hit him for a change, he stood and looked down on Ryku, "I hope you learn to control yourself. I killed Garth to avenge my family. With that done, don't you think I won't spend the rest of my life wondering what would've happened if I'd looked harder for Annabelle." Ryku sat up and wiped the blood from his lip, "Don't think just because you beat me up, that I won't report your every move to the Templars! Everything you do, or everyone you do will be reported to the Templars. All that you eat, drink or consume in some way will be documented and I will find a way to kill you. Annabelle won't rest in peace until you are dead!" Zane rubbed his eyes, "You can keep holding that over me, or you can pick yourself up and walk away like a man. Your choice." Ryku stood but still glared at him, "You'll die someday, by my hand. The Templars, no matter how useless they are, will know your every move! That includes your girlfriend!"

Zane stood, his gray eyes fixed on Ryku, "I won't fight back because you're family no matter how much you hate me. I have lived my life in pain and misery. You know nothing of what our father was like! I didn't willingly train under him, he forced me to. He was the one who wanted you dead, not me!" He took a step toward him, "I didn't want to hurt Annabelle by saying I didn't like her fiance. She loved me too much to listen to me so I gave you by best shot and you saw I still didn't trust you." Ryku shook his head, lifting his fist to hit him again, "I can't believe you're still lying to yourself!" Zane took his punch and still bore into him, "You didn't know our father because Annabelle refused to talk about him. He was a killer, I may be one too but Annabelle always looked to the bright side of things. She wouldn't give up just because we were dead. You can hate me and blame me for something I didn't do, but don't you ever imply that my sister gave up her life because she was too sad." Ryku hit him again.
