Sasuke was only watching Orochimaru and Kabuto at the time,Rukia got herself into this by saying she'd think about it,if she just said no and fought him there then he wouldnt have needed to leave her behind.Sasuke had luckily appeared infront of the coward's a mile away from Rukia and the other's."No more running!"he shouts.
