As naturally as he could manage he took her praise and rested his hand on the hilt of his sword, "Would it be too much to ask for minimum activity down here?" He walked a step behind her to protect her back and front. Most people thought it was easy protecting a girl, but Olive got into as much trouble as any man could've. It was just so...human of her.
Ah well I'm doing okay for now. Our math test was moved to tomorrow. All the other schools around my area are closed but not ours just because...
His mournful look shattered and he laughed, "Not a clue." Scratching the back of his head, he grinned, "I think the only one who does know is my father and I guess whoever else I'm related to. But the only relatives I have are mom and Gabriel. My Unlce died I think a long time ago."
Hey, how are you doing?
Zane leaned down to her and kissed her softly, "Would you hate me if I treated our children like that?" Zee grinned and picked her up, "Ah, you know, what they said back there. Y'know, about being in love with you...I,uh..." he didn't know how to finish his sentence.
Zane pulled her to him and nuzzled the side of her head, "Zee brought up having children during practice and I...I don't know, I can't imagine having any of my own. I'd hate to turn into my father, always so cruel and cold towards them just because of my being an assassin. It'd be like repeating the pattern of my life all over again." Zee opened his eyes and stood up after her, "Okay, you...want me to tag along?" He smiled and winked at her.
Zane jerked and stared at her before rubbing his eyes, "Nah, something on yours?" He flinched, realizing that was how his father would've answered her. "You seem...tired lately. Are you sick or something?" Zee turned his head on the table to look at her, "Thanks Sasha, but I really should've left it alone. Zane's not terrible with kids but until he gains a more fatherly instict, I'd keep any of my children away from him." Running his hand through his hair, Zee shut his eyes and tried to imagine what Zane's father would've been like.
Zee sighed and dropped his head onto the table, "That would probably be my fault. I suppose I brought up having kids with Mya and he got all defensive. He just doesn't want to end up like his father toward his kids." Zane paced in front of Mya's door. He hadn't been to his own room since they left. Zee's words still hung in his head. He touched his head to the wall and closed his eyes, drifting off in that position.
Hey, dude, you've got the wrong guy. That's not his last name. Creepy that the first names are similar but not the same person. I don't think...
Vincent followed her, keeping close on her heels, as he always did. "True," he half smiled at her giggle and subconsciously checked off his weapons, just to make sure he was prepared, "Defense...it's my duty to protect you and well, you're still alive so I think I'm doing a good job of it so far." Defense wasn't the only thing he could do, but he usually tried to avoid conflict if there was another way out. "I still don't see what they're so afraid of. I'd be glad to be away from there. Realizing they have powers could give them the chance to get a job with Ink. Humnas are...so stubborn." He always refered to them as humans, instead of people. Not many knew what he was exactly, because of his handy coat, but he prefered to keep them in the dark.
Kisa took one glance at Zelos' blood and snarled, she looked around for the Behemoth who threw the rock. Electricity surged around her, "Can I hurt someone now?" Zelos still had a fairly good grip on her shoulder, keeping her back from the fighting. Her fangs grew and her nails sharpened as her growls deepened. She spotted Sether and placed blame on him, since he was a Behemoth not being beat on. Pointing rather rudely, she snarled, "Hey, you! You wanna try that again! If your aim sucks so bad, maybe your mother shouldn't have been sniffing glue when you were concieved!"
Lightning glowered at Snow, he was always so upbeat and happy. Brother-in-law or not, he got on her nerves often. "Hmph, survive and we'll see if anything is my treat." She glanced back at their home and remembered how happy and sad Fang and Vanille had been when they'd returned. Glancing at the crystal tower, she wondered if they realized what was happening. Tugging Akira along behind her, Light started down the path of their journey.
Xenree walked through the, what normal people called scary, town until she heard the lighting of a pumpkin bomb behind her and ducked. It flew over her head and exploded. Turning she saw Lock, Shock, and Barrel frowning, "Hey, you found us out before we could trick you!" Lock complained. "It's not her fault. You were too noisy!" Shock accused, hitting Lock on the head with her mask. "You came back!" Barrel seemed to be the only one that noticed she had come back after so many times before. She nodded and narrowed her red eyes on them, "You three haven't been bothering Jack have you? I trust you stick to your tricks and not actually harm people? Like in Chistmas Town?" They shook their heads quickly and took off their masks.
Vincent resisted the urge to growl his disapproval and crossed his arms, "Fine, but I swear this time I'll kill someone if they start something. No more of this useless holding back. One less for Ink to register." The look on his face was almost impassive, just enough annoyance showed through to prove he wasn't made of stone.
Orphan lazily closed his eyes as Toya took charge of the situation. He faded back to his spot in Zain's subconscious. Zain moaned silently in his head, Orphan was heavier than before. He tried to open his eyes but they wouldn't budge.
Vincent stood in the window and breathed in the air before stepping back into his room and shutting the window, "My day begins. I go, where you go, that's just how my job works, Olive." he smiled at her and remembered the first time he'd said that to her. He stood at least a head taller than her and pulled on his black fingerless gloves, "Where to?"
Zee clammed up and gave an apologetic smile to Sasha. Zane growled and stood, "Don't believe me? Ask her yourself if you're so damn concerned. For your information, I wouldn't mind a kid, as long as they didn't turn out like me or you, Zee." His glare wavered in severity and he followed after Mya.
Vincent debated quickly with himself on moving and decided not to. He didn't feel urgency in her presence. "It's open Olive." Any other would've been amazed by how he knew it was his partner but then everyone knew that gift already, if you could call it a gift. He snatched up his coat and pulled it on. It had been spelled to hide the bulge of his wings but he still felt nervous when he fell backwards; always afraid he'd break them again. Right, get your head out of the clouds. Olive comes first, daydream when she's safely here in bed. he silently scolded himself and turned his head to the door.
Xenree closed her eyes for a minute and returned her red eyes to his a smile only in her voice, "I do indeed. There aren't many books I haven't read." Casting her red eyes down to the floor her hands trembled as she opened a dark corridor, "Merry meet, merry part, and merry meet again, Zexion, Marluxia." Disappearing into darkness she felt her body shiver. Never had she used her old way of greetings and goodbyes before with people she barely knew. Pulling a notebook and pen from her pocket she scribbled something down and sent it fluttering off through the darkness as she continued on her way to check on the pranksters, Lock, Shock, and Barrel in Halloween Town. The note Xenree had written landed lightly on Zexion's bed. Scrawled on it in her neat handwriting was a simple quote from Shakespeare she'd used often, 'Be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some acheive greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon 'em.'
Zee and Zane's eyes followed Mya as she left. Zee gave Zane a pointed look, "Ya see? It could be happening right in front of you." Zane growled, "You don't know that's why she's tired. People get tired from just looking at you!"
