Hmm, I think the main problem is the fact that Sora is at level 14. I suggest grinding to increase Sora's level. There may be a different issue, but Sora's level is the only problem I'm seeing.
The thing with the symbol card is that you never know what Spirit you get before using it. It is possible to get the spirit you preferred to get, but it will take some effort. You'll need the right ingredients to create it.
Holy s***, you're right! I remember a low poly model was used for that exact scene. Either they changed it to high poly, or the texture changes make it so hard to tell. Either way, it's awesome!
