Everyone looked around the remains of the village for survivors, but the search was in vain. The black monster was made sure it emilinated everyone in the village. "My god. All of this senseless devistation, and for what, just to find the moon-child? There is nothing I can to for my people now but ensure that they are guided to their eternal rest." Michael played the same somber melody on his flute just as he did the day he guided his father. Once again the summoned lights converged to form the souls of the villagers, and one by one they headed to their final resting place, tears streaming down Michael's face all the while. "I will have vengence on that monster. It will pay for all the lives it has taken." Michael thought to himself as he continued to play the song.
Michael and Kai entered the burning village. All around them was a scene of death and carnage left by a merciless killer. Everywhere they looked it was the same, there were no survivors to be found. Michael heard a groan coming from a pile of rubble. He threw the fallen stones aside, revealing the village elder....gravely injured. "Elder, what happened?! Who attacked the village?" In a weak voice, the elder said, "It was the black monster...it came upon us swiftly. We had no chance....." The elder gasped and slowly his eyes closed. He died from blood loss. Michael screamed loudly in rage.
"No time to explain, the village is being attacked!!!"
Michael looked at the red star, when suddenly he heard screams coming from the village. "No!!! How could I be such a fool?!" He ran to the village as fast as he could.
Michael looked at the smoldering remains of the church. "So it begins."
"True, but there is always something stronger. If we can find out what it is, we might be able to defeat him."
"Why was he here? Was he after the divine dragoon spirit, or did he just come to intimidate us?"
Michael had looked at the sword Jeraxen had at his side, eyes growing wide with horror. Michael realized then that the sword there enemy bore was none other than the Dragon Buster, the only weapon capable of piercing a dragoon's armor. At this point they were clearly no match for Jeraxen, if the dragoons fought him now, they would just be slaughtered. "How did he obtain that weapon?"
"It's no mistake. He is a wingly, nemesis of the dragoons."
"If you aren't after the spirit, then what is your purpose here?"
OOC: I'm back. My stupid computer locked up, so I had to reboot. BIC: Michael's dragoon spirit began to glow again. "No, it can't be. I thought your kind was extinct."
"I do, where is that coming from?"
Michael blushed. "Me neither."
"You're right Kai. I need to let it go. After all, my father's soul has been avenged, so there is nothing to cry about." He stood up and wiped his eyes. "Thanks, Kai."
"I know what happened to my father. My adopted brother murdered him to get the jade dragoon spirit. He tried to kill me for it in there, now he is dead." Michael fell to his knees and tears started to fall from his face. "I haven't seen him for years, and now he comes back to kill me, and for what? He ran away because the dragoon spirit didn't choose him to be the next Jade Dragoon, what made him think it was going to choose him after he killed me?"
Off Topic: In one of my earlier posts, I said my character's brother hated him for being the next chosen dragoon. Figured the two needed some closure.
Michael entered the church and saw a strange man sitting on the altar. "Long time, no see brother." The man said. "Edrick?! What are you doing here?" "Taking back what is mine!" Edrick swung his sword at Michael, barely giving him time to block. "What are you talking about?" "The Dragoon Spirit, brouther, what else? I killed father for it, but he gave it to you, so here I am." "Murderer!!" Michael screamed, driving him into a rage. The brother's blades clashed, making sparks, then suddenly, the church burst into flames. The two continued to battle. Michael eventually disarmed Edrick and pointed his sword at Edrick's throat. "I should kill you now for what you did, but that would make me no better than you, so I will spare your life. Pray that you don't see me again, for I will kill you next time." Michael turned to leave, when Edrick charged at Michael with a dagger. Michael thrust his sword back, stabbing Edrick in the chest. "Coward, I show you mercy, and this is how you repay me?!. May the spirits condemn you to hell!" He pulled the sword from Edrick's chest and sliced off his head. "Father, you are avenged." Michael thought to himself as he left Edrick's body to be consumed by the flames.
"Sounds good. I am going to check out the church, so I will meet you in the town square later." Michael ran towards the church.
"Yes I can. In fact there is a music competition tonight, I was thinking of entering." Michael heard some church bells in the distance. "Why are the bells ringing? That church has been sealed and abandoned for years. I'm going to take a look."
"No Cliff, you were still in the ring when you fell asleep. The officials thought you were waiting for your chance to strike. It's a shame that you slept through the match, you missed out on a intense battle." Michael turned to Sophia again "Sorry, forgot that you told me about the night of the dragon, just was not expecting what had happened." "It was weird though, the dragoon spirits began glowing, then it was like our powers were going out of control. Thought the dragons were trying to speak to us, but I could not make out what they were saying."
