She is all alone in the world. The raindrops were hard and stiff. The fog rolled in ever so closely. The passing cars splashed her with water, and everyone looking as if she had no reason to live. The thunder rolled and the lightning struck. The café didn’t seem so far away now. Her thoughts were on her new book, and nothing else. If she had nothing to care about, and no one to care about her, she might as well read on other’s lives, to see the fictional outcome of what she could’ve had.
Once stepping into the warm café, and out of the ice cold streets, she looked around, seeing a few ‘parties’. She debated on whether to go back out or not, but the waiter already came up to her. His golden hair flowed swiftly towards the back of his neck, it was ever so straight, and messy at the same time. As if he’d straightened it then was took for a spin. It was wonderful. She could barely pinpoint his hazel eyes. Once the light hit them they turned into an ember color, his skin, flawless.
“Milady?” his soft voice broke through her thoughts. Her eyes adjusted to his. Her blonde and wet hair stuck in her face.
“I’m sorry, could you repeat that?” she asked, in her light voice. She could see his sleek lips moving as she examined his perfection. His lips started moving once again.
“Would you like a seat?” he asked, holding out a maroon sleek menu. She lifted her pale hand and stretched it over the menu. His hand looked so warm, and hers, so hold. He released his gentle grip on the menu. “This way please,” he instructed. He had already turned before she could already take in his soft voice again. Her light footsteps echoed through the hardly empty café. Her eyes started to adjust to the lightning, and she became paranoid at everyone staring at her. A few men wouldn’t take their eyes off her. She gulped softly and took a seat, in their front view. She kept her legs crossed, making sure she wouldn’t reveal anything under her skirt. The chairs were so high, if someone even fell out of them, they’d break an arm. Her hands shook lightly at her sides. Her menu was already opened as the waiter stood by to take the morning order
“What would you like milady?” his gentle voice broke through her thoughts once more.
“Uhm..” she started stuttering. Her finger poked out of her comfy dark gray jacket. Her hood dripped water onto her face gently as she pointed out something.
“Umm, a strawberry Danish and some herbal tea?” she said, but it sounded more like a question. He wrote the order down on the piece of paper in his notebook.
“I’ll be right with you,” he said. He started walking off, and that was the last time she saw him.
