Michael went to land on the balcony. As he touched down, however, he lost his balance and fell face first on the stone. "Ow, I have got to work on my landings." "Nice job." The dragon said as it laughed. "Are you clumsy, or just stupid?" "Shut up, you stupid dragon." "Just asking..."
Michael looked in the mirror. "Mathias really did a good job on this armor. It's comfortable, yet it provides a good defense." Michael went back out to the balcony and flew around, seeing how well he could fly with his new armor.
Michael headed back to his room. Along the way he ran into Mathias. "Here ya go, kid. One new suit of armor. Must admit though, you picked a strange color fora guardian angel." "I am no guardian angel...only a fallen one." The armor was black, like Michael's wings. It looked more demonic than angelic, but it served his purposes. "Got to get going. Come by the forge again sometime." Mathias ran back to his forge, and Michael went into his room to put his new armor on.
OOC: So much pressure. But kyle is online, so he should be here sometime , hopefully. BIC: Michael bowed to the king. The king stood up, holding a black orb in his hand. "I wanted to thank you for saving my kingdom." He handed Michael the orb. "This is of Keldon origin! How did you get it?" "The first king of Tredor found it during a siege of a Keldon city. He took the orb and declared it a tresure of Tredor." "Thank you. My people will be happy to get this orb back. Now if you will excuse me.." Michael bowed and left. "So, just what does that little trinket do?" "This is the Orb of Orcrist. It is used to communicate with the souls of the dead that still roam the mortal plane. It was thought to have been lost long ago." "I suggest we keep it for now. It might have some use on our journey."
Michael shook some of the loose feathers from his wings. One of the castle guards approached Michael. "Lord Ottmar requests your presence in the throne room." "Tell him I am on my way." The guard bowed and left. "I wonder what Ottmar wants..." Michael thought as he walked to the throne room. "Don't ask me, I'm not a mind-reader." "But yet you know what I am thinking." "Well, that's different." "Whatever you say."
Michael stood on the balcony, looking at the destruction caused during the battle. "At least no lives were lost this time." "Yes, I was able to do something this time, unlike at Villgust...." "You have to let it go, kid. There was nothing you could have done there, you were not as strong then as you are now. Had you tried to stop the destruction of Villgust, you would have been another number in the body count." "I suppose you are right, but..."
Michael walked toward Mathias' Forge. Along the way, the townspeople were cheering for him. "Why do they cheer?" "Because they think of you as a hero. They believe you slayed the Black Monster. Best not tell them the truth, they would not be able to comprehend it." He entered the forge. "You in here, old man?" Michael asked. "For the last time, stop calling me 'Old Man', and yes, I'm here. From the looks of you, you need some new armor. Step back here so I can get your measurements." Michael had his measurements taken for his new armor, and picked out the color metal he wanted. "I wil have it done in a little while, so I will bring it to the castle when I finish." "How much do I owe you?" Michael asked. "It's on the house. I'd feel guilty if I charged the savior of Tredor anything." "Thanks, Mathias." Michael headed back to the castle.
"In time, you will come to understand what your dragon is telling, just be patient. I need to have a new suit of armor made, so I think I am going to see Mathias, if he is still in town. But knowing that stubborn old man, he stayed at his forge, ready to defend it with his life. So I will be back later." Michael bowed and left.
"From what my dragon tells me, we fought the dark dragoon last night, and I extracted the Black Monster from her. I passed out after that, so I don't remember anything else."
Michael slowly woke up. He looked around and saw he was back in the castle. "How did I get back here?" "The castle guard carried you and your companions back here after your battle with the Dark Dragoon." "Where is the dark dragoon?" "I don't know, I can't sense her presence anywhere around here." He looked next to the bed, and saw Kai, sleeping in the chair there. "Your girlfriend sat there all night, waiting for you to wake up. She must have been really worried about you." Michael gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and left the room to get some air.
As Michael finished the extraction, he heard a demonic scream in his head, then a weird black smoke come out of the dark dragoon's wound and enter the bottle that Michael held in his hand. "It is finished." He said breathing heavily. "Now to heal her." He staggered over to her, pulled the sword from her and dispelled it. Using his hunting knife, he cut himself, purple blood coming from the cut. He used the blood to draw the Keldon rune symbol for life around her wound and chanted the healing spell. Her wound started to close, and eventually dissapear. "There, you should be ok now." "Good job, kid. I knew you could do it." Michael smiled, and then passed out from exhaustion.
Michael was almost finished with the ritual, when he realised he now knew how to temporarily excise paracidic demons from their victims. He pulled a strange bottle from his pack and began a different chant.
Michael saw the Dark dragoon stop in her tracks. "Now's my chance!" He stopped chanting the stasis spell and flew towards his opponent, thrusting his sword into her. He then began to carry out the Sealing Ritual to seal the power of the black monster.
The two clones dodged the barrage. The true Michael prepared his next runic spell, Stasis.
Michael saw the beam approach him. It barely contacted with his left wing as he dodged it. "Ok, time to try out a new technique." Michael started to draw mystic runes in the air with his free hand. After he finished, he discovered he had a twin flying next to him. "That isn't what I expected to happen, but I'll take it." The twins continued the fight with their enemy. OOC: The Clone Spell is only active for a short time by the way.
"Think, think, think! Got to find a way to get through that defense." "So I take it you found a way to stop the monster without killing the girl, then? "I believe so, but I have to get through her defense in order to use the sealing ritual." Michael focused his energy into his sword. It soon began to glow with an pale green light. He continued to fight, in hopes of piercing his enemy's defense.
OOC: My character's armor is temporary right now. He will have to get some made that better fits his new wings. BIC: "Damn, this armor is really uncomfortable, and that dent dosen't help matters." "Stop whining. Just focus on the task at hand, stopping the Black Monster." "Geez, you're a jerk, you know that." Michael focused the wind around himself and charged at his enemy, while encased in a cyclone.
Michael took to the air to meet his opponent. "Demon! I won't let you get away with this!" He summoned his sword, ready for combat. "Careful now, boy! You must not kill her!" "Well, what do you suggest I do then?! Run away like a coward?!"
"I sense something amiss with the dark dragoon. It's like there are two personalities clashing within her." "You got that right, Kid." "Ok, now who are you?" "The Jade Dragon. I tried to communicate with you before on numerous occasions, but I just now got through that thick head of yours. But your senses are correct. The Dark Dragon and the Black Monster are fighting for control. We have to help the Dark Dragon." "And just How do you suggest we do that?!" "I don't know! Just think of something."
"The Black Monster is here. We must try to keep it out of the city."
