"All keldon wings are different. But this means your father must have been....." "I hate to break up this emotional scene, but I suggest you get back to your body, kid, or you're going to be stuck here." "Alright already!" Michael left Kai's mind and re-entered his body. When he stood up and looked at Kai, he saw her white wings. "So I guess I'm not the only half-breed..." "What's the matter? Are you dissapointed?" "To be honest, I'm happy." "I'll never understand you mortals."
Michael staggered back. "No, impossible. You aren't keldon, but yet you have wings....." "What are you waiting for, boy?! Exorcise that spirit!" He used one of the techniques he read in the Apocryfa of Yzark to eliminate the spirit. He then turned his attention back to Kai. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"Why do you torment her, spirit? Answer me!"
Michael pointed his sword at the mysterious woman. "Who are you, spirit?"
"So this is what has been troubling you, or is it something else? You might as well tell me, because I'm not getting out of your mind until we get to the bottom of this." "Smooth cassanova, real smooth..."
Michael stepped out into the hall. "Who else do you know with black wings?"
Michael thought he heard Kai's voice from around the corner, but just to be safe, he readied himself from battle. "I could ask you the same question."
Michael wandered through Kai's mind, not really seeing anything that troubled her. "I'd kill for a map right about now...." "Quit whining and just do what you came in here to do." "That would be a lot easier if I knew where the hell I was going!" "Stop yelling and get to work."
Michael entered the spectral plane and delved into Kai's mind. He looked around. "Man, it's like a maze in here..." "Many minds are like that. Most are this way because the person is trying to supress some memories they don't want to cope with. Not yours though." "Who said you could go into my mind?!" "I have to every time I speak to you. How else could I get through that thick skull of yours?" "Anyway, I just have to find the memory, or memories that Kai is supressing, right?" "It's not that simple, boy. You have to find what's causing the trouble, but you must help her come to terms with her past." "Oh wonderful.....but where should I start?"
Michael picked Kai up and laid her on his bed. She had fallen unconsious. "What's happening to her?" "If I had to guess, something is torturing her, either mentally, or spiritually. You'll have to fix it." "Just what do you expect me to do?! I'm a warrior, not a psychoanalyst!" "But you can cross into the spectral realm and enter her mind that way, so get to it!
"Is something wrong?"
Michael finished his meal and yawned. "Tired already?" "Shut up." He went up the stairs and laid down on his bed. "Tomorrow we have to leave here....." "Already? I was just getting comfortable." "You don't have a body to get comfortable in, smartass." "Relax, it was just a joke...."
"I know he is trying to keep something from me." "Don't dewll on it too much. You have more important things to worry about, like recovering the Divine Dragoon soul." "You know I hate it when you're right...." Michael sat down and ate while reading his notes from the Apocryfa of Yzark.
"Fine, whatever." Michael walked inside to grab a bite to eat.
"I know you are lying, Cliff. You wouldn't have tried to look away from me if you were telling the truth."
"You fought in the Demonium war, didn't you Cliff?"
Michael stopped playing and headed back to town. He saw Cliff sitting outside the inn. "He looks like he is deep in thought, best just to leave him be."
Michael walked into the forest and practiced some of the techniques written in the Scripture of Galanoth. He quickly grew bored and pulled out his flute and played a short song on it. "You make those techniques look easy, kid." "When you have used a sword for as long as I have, it becomes second nature."
"Gives me time to train some of my new abilities. See ya." OOC: On that note, I have to go too. Until tomorrow...
"To be honest, I would rather not speak of this subject further. Brings back too many bad memories."
