"Fair enough." "It's settled then. Now lets get some food." "You never did answer me about the bear, though." "I'll tell you after we eat."
"There's no way you could be my daughter, Zephyr." "What makes you think that?" "For one, you don't look a thing like me or Kai, and two, you are too much of a brat." "Just what's that supposed to mean?!" Michael laughed. "Calm down, it's just a joke." "It's a miracle, he does have a sense of humor!"
"So how do you feel?" "Other than the strange desire to eat some grass, I feel fine." "That'll pass." "I'm sure everyone's going to ask questions about Zephyr though." "If anybody asks, just tell them I'm your daughter."
"Very touching, but now I'm getting hungry. So let's get back to the village already." Zephyr jumped onto Michael's shoulders. "Giddyup." "I'm not a horse." Zephyr snapped her fingers. A cloud of smoke enveloped Michael. When it dissapeared, he had the look of a black horse with black wings and a white mane. "Now you are." Michael bucked Zephyr off of his back and into the spring. "Alright, I'll change you back." Zephyr snapped her fingers again and Michael went back to normal. "Don't do that again."
"But why did you tell her, Zephyr?" "Something had to be done about that demon, or else it was going to take control of you again." "Then I guess I should thank you. "It's the least I could do after you freed me from imprisonment from those books." Michael held Kai.
"How did you know I was carrying that demon?" "Because I told her." Zephyr walked out from behind a tree.
Michael and the demon clashed swords. "Why don't you just give up?" "I'll surrender when monkeys fly out of my butt." Michael caught the demon off guard. It knelt on the ground, trying to catch it's breath. "You need me. I'm the reason you survived that fateful night. You're nothing without me." "I renounce you." Michael stabbed the demon through the chest. It screamed in agony as its body crumbled and eventually it ceased to exist.
"Uh...okay." Michael drank the water thinking all the while how weird this was. A black aura surrounded him. He felt like something was being ripped out of him. When he stood up, he saw a figure that looked like him, except with black hair and yellow eyes. Michael summoned his sword. "Who are you?" "I'm you. At least I would have been you, if she hadn't have butted in." The figure moved to attack Kai, but Michael blocked the strike. "You'll have to get through me first."
"Where are we going?"
"Ok, I guess. Let's go." Michael and Kai left his mind. "Guess I'll leave too. Time for some fresh air." Zephyr appeared back outside the settlement, but in her true form instead of her wolf form. "Hope he dosen't mind me borrowing some of his power. She giggled.
"Just don't tell him that I've shown you any of this!" Zephyr yelled. "I don't think she heard me..."
"Good, that's all I had to know. There is a sacred spring to the north. You must take him there and mix your blood and his in the spring, not too much though, just a little from a cut on your hand will do. He then must drink the water and blood mixture. The demon will be removed from his body and Michael can then slay it. The only reason I asked that question is because this will only work if there is a bond of true love between the two people mixing their blood in the spring."
"There is a way to rid him of this demon. But first, I have a question for you. Do you truly love Michael?"
"It's more of a persona of a demon sealed within Michael. He has been holding it back all of this time, but I fear that the demon within him will soon take over. From what I have seen in his memories, its already happened once...." Zephyr opened the door to the left. The memory Michael had from the time when he was beaten and left to die, floating in a lake began to play. But after Michael was pulled from the lake by his father, something within him took over. His eyes changed color, just as they did at Castle Reynar. He found the boys that attacked him and brutally slaughtered them, feasting on their blood. His father prevented Michael from attacking anyone else by sealing the demon.
Zephyr lead Kai to the black door. "Now open that door and tell me what you see."
"Just follow me, I have something to show you."
"Strange, I don't remember seeing this before...." Zephyr walked into the library. "Kai, I need to talk to you." "Then just say what you have to say." "Sorry Michael. This is for her ears only."
"What do you mean?"
Zephyr walked around until she came to a black door. "Let's see what's in here..." She opened the door. From within the room, she heard a monsterous growl. When she looked in the room, she saw a pair of red eyes, slowly advancing toward the door. Zephyr quickly shut the door. "Just as I feared....."
"What is it, Kai?" "Excuse me, I have to go check up on something..." Zephyr picked up a teddy bear that was laying on the floor next to her chair and started to leave. "What's with the bear?" "What is it with you mortals and your questions?" "Sorry I asked. Just don't go messing with my head."
