OOC: Whatever you say..... BIC: Michael parried her attacks and thrust his sword through her chest.
"I don't think so." Michael said, ramming into Angel. "Your fight is with me." He continued to fight her as the keldon army and the spectral force from K'eld Ner prepared to charge the enemy.
At that point, the light surrounded Michael again and he reverted back to his normal self. The clone was gone, but the Jade dragon remained as he was the genuine article. Michael stopped focusing his energy and attacked. The purification spell was still in effect on his sword.
"That's really the only way to tell us apart, apparently. Other than that. My clone spell in ascended form creates an exact duplicate of me, from my energy signatures, down to my thoughts and feelings." He whispered to her.
"How'd you know I was the real one?" Michael whispered to Kai.
Michael began chanting arcane words. His sword began to shine with holy light. "See if you can withstand this purification spell, demon." He said as he pushed Angel back and went on the offensive. "Don't think I've left you out, dragon. I'd like you to meet an old friend of yours." The other Michael said as he called forth the Jade dragon. The dragon said nothing as he began to attack.
The energy gathering Michael threw up a barrier of light to protect everyone as he continued to focus. The attacking Michael grabbed Angel and threw her at the dark dragon. He proceeded to rapidly slash them both, giving them no room to breathe. "Go check on her, Dante. Try to awaken her if you can, we're going to need all the help we can get."
Michael quick recovered from the attack. "Well, well...I see you're working for the enemy, Angel." White light enveloped Michael, transforming him back to his ascended form. He made a perfect clone of himself. "Can you tell which is the real me?" They said as one of them rushed foward and attacked while the other stayed and focused his energy.
"You focus energy from deep within yourself and release it in one burst."
"I haven't quite figured that one out yet. Those being greater demons, I know that they will have a barrier of some sort around them. If we focus our power in unison, we should be able to break the barrier. Then it's only a matter of bringing them down."
"Our main target would be those three demons that were just summoned. Let us dragoons handle them, as the rest of you would be unable to withstand an attack from them. Instead, our forces will focus on the enemy troops. Let the warriors from K'eld ner take point as they are already dead and cannot be harmed by anything but those demons."
"Get her to safety, then. There is a massive battle on our hands."
"Looks like it's time...." Michael blew the spectral horn he recieved at K'eld Ner. Within seconds the fallen spirits were gathered behind him, ready for war.
"Right." Michael said as he dispelled his sword. He picked Kai up and flew back to the village. OOC: I'll give you a recap of what happens while you're gone by PM.
"Getting some more troops for the army." He said as he entered the fortress. The souls of the fallen warriors cried out to Michael for release from their torment. "All of you! I know not why you have been bound here, but I come offering you a way to escape your torment. A demonic force threatens the Keldon race. Fight alongside me, and I shall release you from your pain." The most regal of the souls approached Michael. "We would only serve the King of the Keldon, boy!" Michael called forth his sword and pointed it at the spirit. "Do you not recognize this blade? It is Kyozuko. Only the true king of the keldon is able to wield it." The spirit gazed at the blade, then returned his gaze to Michael. "We shall fight for you, my lord. You need only summon us." The spirit conjured up a spectral horn. "Blow that horn and we shall come to you, ready to fight." With that, the spirits vanished.
Michael flew up and noticed a familiar fortress to the west. "K'eld Ner......I never thought I would see that accursed place again." He remembered the souls of the fallen warriors still bound there. "Perhaps it's time to release them from their suffering...." He flew towards the fortress.
Michael sighed. "We must leave here. The longer we stay, the lower the morale of our troops will get."
Michael stood up and stared into the sky. What should I do now? He thought.
Michael walked around the village, looking for survivors. There were none to be found. He sat on a stump and buried his face in his hands, trying to fight back the tears. It pained him to see the slaughtered corpses of his people, the very ones he were supposed to guide and protect. He felt powerless.
"We shall stop at the village for now to let the troops rest. Then we will continue our persuit of the enemy."
