"If it is damaged, then that means the charms that the other noble families hold are useless."
"I have an idea." Koza drew Murasame and cut the charm in half. "Now we both have a piece of the charm to guard, sis."
"I assume that the black one is Murasame so I'll weild it. That leaves Masamune for you, Maiko."
"If I remember right, Murasame has a demon inside it and while it's near masamune, the demon sleeps. I think the charm is the Coro that the Hogyoku were looking for."
"This is the first time I've ever seen these. I remember father talking about them though. I think he called the one Murasame and the other Masamune."
Koza walked down the passage with the others following him. They eventually entered a large chamber with two sconces in it. Koza kit the sconces which revealed two swords hanging on the wall with a small charm that looked like the end of a key sitting between them. "I never knew that these were down here." Koza looked at the swords. One had a jet black blade, the other sword had an ivory white blade.
"It's our house, sis. Still I should go first as I have the light."
"I guess we'll have to do something about that." Koza said as he lit a torch. "At least me and you have sense enough to enter a dark passage with a light."
"I don't know, but I think I may have found something. There's a ladder leading down."
"It was empty the last time I was here." He said as he walked further into the main chamber. The floorboards broke out from under him and he caught himself before he fell.
Koza hopped off the cart and walked inside. The interior was more intact and there was little sign of dust and cobwebs. "Strange....someone else has been here. But why?"
"It's not that bad. Besides, we're not going to be here long."
"Sure." He mushed the horses on and stopped the cart in front of a dilapidated house. "Here it is. This house has seen better days."
"The news about our group hasn't hit the public yet, I'm sure. Until then, we'll be safe."
Koza drove the horses on. After about a couple of hours, they reached the city.
"I'm sure we'll be able to find them, but we have to get to town first. So hop in."
"That'll be nice. We might stumble upon a secret passage or two. Mother always told me that the house was riddled with them."
"The house is in some rough shape since no one has lived there for nine years."
"The doctors is near the town gate, while the family home is near the square. I'll show you the way."
Koza stopped the cart next to Maiko. "Need a lift? We're not going to spend too much time in the city, so once we're finished we'll head back to the plantation."
