"I have no reason to explain myself to a freak like you." Hattori held the blade of his scythe against his dad's throat. "You do if you want to live."
"It's of no concern to me. You were all only experiments." Hattori threw him into a bookcase. "Just shut up, old man! You're nothing but scum!"
"I know exactly who you and your sister are. Too bad the experiments didn't go quite as planned. You two would have made great killing machines." Hattori punched him hard in the stomach. "How dare you toy with people's lives, old man." "They weren't the only ones. You were also an experiment of mine, Hattori." Hattori tightened the grip around his neck and looked at him with rage. "You're lying!" "I'm afraid I'm not, son."
Hattori knocked on the door. His dad quickly answered. "What a nice surprise. What brings you out here, Hattori?" He noticed Arisa with him. "You...What are you doing here, girl?" He said before Hattori grabbed him by his neck. "Alright, old man. Arisa's gonna ask you some questions, and you're gonna answer." "What makes you think I'll do that?" "Because if you don't, you're in for a world of pain."
"You feeling ok, Arisa?"
Hattori drove the motorcycle to his dad's house. "The old man has a lot of explaining to do. I'll try to keep from bashing his face in long enough for him to answer."
Hattori got on his motorcycle. "Let's get going, Arisa."
"I was just about to head out there. I'll give you a lift."
Hattori closed the sketchbook. I shouldn't think about it too much. I've got more important things to do today, like interrogating dad.
Hattori slowly woke up. He noticed his sketchbook laying next to him. Why did I draw that? I usually only draw things that I see. I've never seen a guy with black wings before...
Hattori headed back to the shrine and sat down. He pulled out his sketchbook and started sketching a man with long hair and black wings dressed in a black cloak. When he finished, he fell asleep, dropping the sketchbook on the ground.
Hattori wandered around town for a while, gathering his thoughts.
"You guys go ahead. I'm gonna go for a walk."
"If it was, he's a dead man."
"He was out way too much. Never would tell anyone where he was going."
"Do you remember what the admin at the lab looked like, Arisa?"
Hattori began to think about his dad. He couldn't possibly have been the one who experimented on Arisa and Suki, could he? The way Arisa described the guy at the lab sounds exactly like dad.
Hattori started whistling a small tune.
Hattori thought about fighting the next shadow arcana. Mine definately won't be easy. I'll just have to find a way to outwit it.
Hattori gazed out towards the stars.
