alright,here's another theory.TWTNW is a nobody world correct.what if it's heart was concealed from it.and the only way to un-conceal it was to destroy a large amount of heartless.and the giant heartmoon in the sky and the door that they went into,was the door to TWTNW's heart.

your right.all the darkness wouldn't be destroyed,but just enough to reveal to them that they have hearts.
kingdom hearts is light.when they go in to kingdom hearts,all darkness will be destroyed within there hearts.that's the way i see it.
