Interesting thought, but as it said in the first game, Sora's heart was stronger than Riku's for an instant, making the keyblade choose Sora.

Scar's will was simply not strong enough. Kovu is Scar's son. Square probably wouldn't change the storyline to that degree.
I believe Axel switches sides when it benefits him most.
I think that keyblade belongs to Riku, not Kairi. We've seen moments in the game where a keyblader allows a person to borrow their keyblade. Ex. Sora using Way to the Dawn against Xemnas.
Correction: There would be a very LITTLE Code Vault. Not the best idea in the world, but a nice one. I'd like to start Coding.
